Posted July 12, 200619 yr Would two 15 inch RL-Ps be choked in 3.2 cubes sealed for both woofers? Would Polyfill help at all? Thanks
July 12, 200619 yr IMO, they will be choked, you will lose some of the low end extension, but have awesome transient response! yeah, polyfill will help. a good rule of thumb is 16oz per cubic ft. leave it good and fluffly or you defeat it's purpose.btw, how much power will you be using?wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
July 13, 200619 yr Fiberglass insulation > polyfillChoking them would be putting them in 2ft^3 sealed.Id try it and see how it sounds.2 15's should have enough low end even in a small sealed

July 13, 200619 yr Author i owuld like to do the ported deal but i dont have the knowledge tools or ability to build one and i dont trust the guy to make one...someone want to build me one for my 95 z28?
July 13, 200619 yr We can help youAnd if you use round ports all you need to know is how to cut a circle for it
July 13, 200619 yr Admin like Eldorado said we can help, countless boxes have been designed on here, the best thing is that it really is not just one person designing it, there are multiple people who have experience and know how to help out.
July 13, 200619 yr All you will need to do is follow directions. If you aren't doing the design the assembly of a ported box is about the same other than you have an extra circle to cut.
July 13, 200619 yr Author i understand its pretty easy but i dont have the tools or space to do it...that is the problem
July 13, 200619 yr Author i may have to do that but i just really wanted it to have the beauty board for when its in the well...and the guy builds ported boxes, i just dont know if they are reasonably tuned or what Edited July 13, 200619 yr by 9512ss
July 13, 200619 yr Admin its a shame another member sold his box for his camaro not to long ago, but the 1st one is attractive

July 14, 200619 yr Author you guys think if i ordered the like 3.2 box for a single fifteen and had him add two holes to my desired width i could just throw the aeroports in myself so i know they are right?
July 14, 200619 yr you guys think if i ordered the like 3.2 box for a single fifteen and had him add two holes to my desired width i could just throw the aeroports in myself so i know they are right?yeah...or like adrian mentioned after this...jsut have the guy do it. tell him what you want it tuned too...wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
July 14, 200619 yr Author i sent him an email about a ported box and he didnt really seem to sure about the whole idea of a tuning frequency i desiredhis reply was yes, i can add more port, when i asked if i could choose a desired tuning frequency
July 14, 200619 yr if that's the story, i guess you should tell him to build you a sealed box, and let the guys here "design" a ported box starting from the volume of that box. you will just have to cut 1 or 2 circles and mount aeroports in them.
