:unsure:my x8's just shut down last night..I checked all wires..amps good..no foul smells from them..no cone scraping sounds...please any advice would help?

 

Check and make sure you have sub output from your source unit. Drunk fingers can turn them off by mistake. LOL good luck

thankz guys..I hooked up a cheap sub...& it works..so..:(:(:(:(im praying its not my sundowns...but...then agian a couple zv4-12 would. be wonderdul:D:D:D:D

yes sir.I did...im going to open the enclosure today..to double check everything & to check the coils also...

Quick simple way to check for a short on a coil would be a 9v battery on the speaker wires with them disconnected from the amp. Hold the neg. wire to the neg. post on the battery and quickly scratch the pos. wire on the pos. post on the battery, this will cause an audible sound and make the cone move. It's ghetto....but in a pinch it works if you don't have a meter to check for continuity.
