Posted August 17, 200619 yr Well I was out pricing enclosures today & dude told me around $300 for a fiberglass enclosure. Anyone know of a better deal or am I stuck paying as much for the box as I did for the sub...err, almost as much.
August 17, 200619 yr Fiberglass enclosures do cost quite a bit so be prepared to shell out the casssshhhhhh if you want one.
August 17, 200619 yr Where do you live ?Fiberglass is alot of work, takes way longer than regular wood
August 17, 200619 yr Admin there are many members on here that have been building boxes for other members for a while now, if you are near one the shipping would not be bad, or you could go pick it up
August 17, 200619 yr depending upon the size and shape, that isn't a bad price for a FG enclosure. lots of labor go into a FG enclosure to get the look that everyone likes.....wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
August 17, 200619 yr That's cheap for a glass enclosure if you ask me. I'm assuming the enclosure will follow suit.
August 18, 200619 yr Author I live in Atlanta and, quite honestly, I could use a quality installer that isn't going to charge me an arm and a leg to get this system together. If you live near Atlanta feel free to hit me up, dealer or not. I'm just doing a set of components in the prefab door cutouts & this sub, along with the amps & HU, so it really wouldn't be a ton of work. I just want to get it working for now, and I can spend more to pretty it up down the road...obviously with the same installer if they do a good job.Quick question, I have been told the SQ is better with a sealed enclosure & the seller recommended a 1.5 cubed. I'm not experienced with this stuff, so I am wondering if I could just buy a 1.5 prefab and use that?

If you go this route, just do some homework and make sure it is of adequate quality and construction. An alternative is to have one built. Wood is cheaper than glass and easier to work with. There are MANY enclosure builders throughout the forum whom build great enclosures. This may better suit you as you can tailor the enclosure to your specific application.
August 18, 200619 yr Hi Derek He bought my extra mag.Like said man, there are many guys on here that can build you an enclosure.

If any of you are in Atlanta, or north of it preferably, then shoot me a PM so we can discuss some work. It would help if you were an exeprienced installer who backs their work, because I would most likely pay you to run the cables & install my system. I live in Snellville/Loganville.
August 20, 200619 yr Author Anyone? I'm not one of those anal freaks, but I will need someone who can work with me & doesn't mind talking shop for awhile.
