I've done it to a few of my loud boxes lol so I was just checking if anyone else used it and knocking on the box with head in it to verify you're an addict? :D

yes

cant say i've ever done it. i always have a few speakers lying around and a good test amp hooked up to a battery that i can quickly make some bass with instead of making it with my mouth

or put the sub in and just tap on the cone to see how it may sound

eh, not so much

but i have done the verbal test tone thing

i've not done the verbal thing, but i have tapped the cone and knocked on the box. we used to have an installer who swore he could tell the f3 of the enclosure by doing that, with sub installed. so we kinda do it as a joke/tribute to him, lol.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

head thingy.........yeppers.......

knock on cone.......yea but just cause well........habit not any real reason

also.......blow smoke in side to look for air leaks.........

i always knock on the box, because the first time i made a box out of ply i was amazed as how much higher the resonance was than with mdf.

I usually stick my head in and say "hello" just for the fun of it.

i've got a box sitting here waiting on the sub to come in, i should try this :P

Pfft, I can whistle and know where to set my time delay...

"whistling noise*

"Yup, just a few ms on the left oughta center it..."

:D
