Hey all! Im in the market for a beefy little 10" woofer that will get loud and sound good doing it too! I'm lookin for something that can offer me great sq as well as great spl. I listen to rap/hiphop, country, dance/techno and some rockish music. I also get into stuff like Dave Matthews Band as well...

I'll be changing up from a ported 12in JLw6v2 so Its gota be able to give JL a run for its money and thensome. For those who will wonder, the reason I am going from a 12 to a 10 is because of space... I'ma be moving soon to a bigger city, so I want to do a more compact setup. I'm going custom build a ported fiberglass tube enclosure and a 10 will be perfect for my idea.

Right now I only have a PG Xenon 600 watt mono amp, but I will sell and upgrade if its a goood idea to do so. For the sub itself, I looking to spend only about $250. I've posted on other forums and got back few suggestions... but I dont think I would want to go from a JL to kicker, or rockford fosgate... Some did recommend brands such as stereo integrity, sound splinter, fi car audio, sound solutions, treo, etc... Alot of those sub loook kick@ss, but honestly I havent heard of many of them (our town is biased towards rockford and mtx...). Then I found this site and from what I've seen soo far, it looks like you guys really know your stuff! Sooo I'm hoping you guys can give me some better suggestions on whats best to put my money on. Any suggetionons/ oppionions on a nice lil sub that will be sure to make me happy will be awesome! Thanks to all who can help.

the fi. si and ss subs would all be a good choice. if you stay at or around 600wrms, i'd go soundsplinter rl-i or si bm. you crave more power? look at the fi bl. those would be the three i'd choice from. even if they went over $250. not much going to touch those subs for output/sq...

well, the bl is a little biased towards output. but from reviews it doesn't exactly suck at sq.

FI Q 10

Oooo that sub is hottness as well haha. Soo I'ma be selling my amp along with my old system and I will now have about 550 to play with. I am still going to keep my budget the same for the sub because I will now have to get a new amp... but it gives me enough to play around with.

Soo I've thought about a few different combos... I could do maybe one BM or RLi now along with an amp, and next paycheck buy a second. Or I could just go with a single FI Q, or BL and an amp. What would any of you guys do?

If you can hold out for a little longer, the SSA sub will be available in 10".

Whats the specs on that? And how much?

We have not released the T/S yet, but if you are in a hurry, the FI SSD and Q are both very good models, not to mention the SS RL-i 10 ;)

I would stick with the single sub setup. I've always preferred a single "good" sub vs. two "lesser" subs. BTW, I'm not saying that the RL-i or BM are bad by any means, just that they may not have the output potential of some of the others listed. And I also just prefer the additional wow factor of having a single sub setup. I would suggest the FI Q.

Yeah I'm thinkin I will go with a single sub. I've always wanted to get a single sub for that wow factor haha. Besides, it be nice to show up some of the guys here in town that spend hundreds of dollars on mediocre equipment from out local shop that tell them its "top of the line". I really like the FI subs. Now I just have to figure out which one I want, and find an amp to power it.

i got a 15Q and i am very suprised @ the SQ at loud volumes.. im sure the 10 is the same... im the kinda person that listens to everything... i was playing some jackjohnson and it sounded incredible.. also had some rise against and it hit every drum... made me and my friends say WOW :P but i have also never heard a w6 so... ya idk really how it compares to it..

Might also want to give a look at the hivi from parts express . That's a beefy little bastage as well :)

holy chit, hivi is using our cones!

grrr....

your cones ? hmm, on what model do you have those ? i've never seen them before...

Not our own model, our customers... Our website products are only a small fraction of parts we designed.

This is our sunfire cone.
