I have a 1994 jeep grand cherokee and i am having a bit of trouble right now i have 1 Q15 pushin 1500w at 1 ohm and im wanting to throw in another 15 but i dont have the cubic feet i need cause of my spare tire and im not allowed to take it out cause of my parents and i cant find a rack or anything for it should i go with the 2 Q15s or go with 2 BL12's on 1500 watts a piece? Please help and my dimensions are 19h 28d 35w with my spare tire in

Price is no factor right now

Casey

Or I can help you with finding a either 1. A roof rack or 2. A rear Tire Carrier So you can do what you want..

Hmmm... I removed the stock spare (pretty much useless for me with larger tires) and made a shallow floor mount storage/enclosure that I simply stick the full size spare on top of and strap down. Im sure you could build a full size enclosure, and run a larger bolt through the top of the box with big washers and tighten it down with a nut so it doesnt spin... then use the stock "wing nut" through the stud to secure the spare in place on top of it.

Ill see if I can take a pic of what Ive got and measure today. Same model as yours... Im sure we can figure a way to get (2)15s in there with the spare. What size spare is it as well?

Thanks,

Scott

its a full size spare in the back and that sounds like it would be a good idea and grim if you could find one of those for me thatd be great to cause i havnt been able to find one

it's too bad you couldn't get a wrangler tire mount (for the hatch) and put the spare there. That is one of the things i love about the liberty, no tire to worry about in the storage area.

yea my sister has a liberty but i might go with what scott said and put it on my box cause ive been lookin for a tired mount for a 94 jeep grand cherokee and all i found was a whole made one for the top of a jeep and im not sure looks kind wierd but unless anything else comes up I AM A wait and see scotts idea

Thats what Im talking about, they make them for the ZJ..

You need to replace the bumper, but the good news is the replacements are steel...and well there strong.

Casey, What are you looking for. I can easily find them for you, im a fellow jeeper and own a GC...Roof Rack or Rear Tire carrier..

You guys are nuts.

All you need is a spare with the same lug pattern. Go to the JUNK YARD and spend $5. Don't know why everyone is making this a big issue.

It fits flush with the wheel well, it will have no effect on the box building or SPL, I've tested it.

What the hell are you talking about?

I think hes saying it doesn't matter if you have a full size spare when it comes down to it, because you can still limp home on a donut. So if the folks insist on a spare, get a cheap small one and toss beside the box. That's what I think he means too, and spares like that can be found real cheap.

True... most people with stock ZJs could do fine with a donut. I wouldnt get another 2 feet on a donut and routinely carry the spare on the box/storage space in the back as well as another on the roof if we are venturing too far out in BFE. Plugs only get me so far with side wall gashes ;)

Didnt get a chance to take a picture but I will.

Yes there are several companies that make nice crawling bumpers with swingout tire carriers. But youd look rather silly on stocks with a meaty bumper on the back. Not too mention they do weigh a little bit and with 94 coils... youd sag a little more too.

Ill take a pic tomorrow. Now I have it written in the "to do" list.

unfortunately it does and im just tryin to get it out and throw in a 10 cube box for 2 15" Q's with 1500 a piece so hopefully at the end of summer ill find out how well it sounds

Pics taken... need to find my cable and Ill get some up tonight. FAR from pretty, but this ZJ is much more about function than looks ;)

ok two thougths(did you get my PM)

You can either A. Build a box and fire the subs any direction but up..and fab up a mount for the top of the box or

B. With the deep ass cargo area that the ZJ has, you could build a false floor for the bottom, put the tire underneath, and put the box on top(If you need help with the design, let me know, I know what to do)
