I just bought a '90 CRX and need some wang for it. I just upgraded to a 160amp alternator and I'm in the process of upgrading the big 3 to 1/0.

I have a hifonics BXI1606D and have built a typical CRX box (29 x 29 x 14) with 4 - 4" x 17" aeroports out the back. I have 2 kicker s12L5's that I was going to use, but I just can't get the 18 BL out of my head! I would want it configured as a daily driver, dual 2's, and with the cooling option (which includes the P Chamfer) and Flatwind.

Now for the questions:

Would the 18 BL work in that box (5.47 cu/ft tuned to 36.5 Hz, if my calculations are correct)?

If so, Should I go with a BXI2006D instead or the BXI1606DD?

Would it Wang?!?!

Go for the BXI2006

x2, it should "wang" very nicely esp in that small of an air space.

as a daily itll be loud,,if your going to compete id consider a diffrent size sub for that car,i was using a 15 BL in that same box and couldnt get over 144.2(using 29x29x14 same aero)and i was throwing 5k at it,,with 12s(and diffrent enclosures) and a bit more juice were scratching 151,hopefully with the new equipment we ordered and more testing well be closer to mid 50s

As others have said, daily driving it will work ok...if your looking for farting/burping i'd look into smaller subs.

I mainly looking for something that will get low and loud. Any idea on the numbers I might see with it? mid 140s?

I'd agree with a 2006d, it'll take it great, imo it'll like the extra power.
