For sealed I prefer 3.0 or a tiny bit larger, as for ported, minimum of 4.5 cubes.

thanks more info on different boxs any one

I had them in 3.25cf sealed a piece, and I recommend going larger.

I'd say 4cf a piece.

As for ported, definetely minimum 4.5cf. For car use, as big as possible and tune between 30-35hz. You won't be able to go too big in a car ;)

For home use, 6cf tuned to 30hz should do well on music, and something big like 10cf @ 18hz for HT usage should rock your foundation.

How does box size correlate with box size? I am thinking two mf-18s, but I only have 1,000 watts. Perhaps 1 18 would be better as I can better power and port it.

What is the reccomended port area for these subs? I assume my two aeroports won't be enough.

HI Flip, what size ports do you have?

4".

I would still rather go with the 8s though. It's either this or the 8s, depending on what you can do. I will be using an alpine pdx 1.1000 so I have 1,000 from 2-4.

Hey flip, I would not worry about the power, I tested my MJ on 400 watts and it did just fine. They dont need a ton of power to get going or sound great. But they can take more then ratted, if you are smart with the gains.
