I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone's FIRST system was or what you installed back in the day. For some of you that may not be that long ago. Here is one of mine.

I didn't have money for my own system at the time but I remember this......

Concord cassette unit (that was the Cadillac of cassette units in the mid 80's)

a pair of Pyramid 15's with a port (really just a hole in the box)

6x9 pyramids

no upgrades in the front speakers

10 band graphic EQ (can you say... extra 40 watts)

and I think it was a Blaupunkt amp running the subs

This was in a 86 Cavalier. YEAH!!!!

Lots of bass and bad sound up front.

I got more but I'll wait :fing34:

Alpine 7893

Boston FX6 coaxials

Avionixx 800.2

eD e12a.22 (only part to have not changed to today :))

...all these CD players. Wow, I guess I'm dating myself.

The record player's in the main setup :fing34:

Pioneer 4560

Kenwood Coaxials powered by HU

2 channel Kenwood amp

12 Kicker CVR

Current install.... Kenwood amp stays the rest including cables gone.

JVC Tape Deck

JVC 50x4 amp.......no plugs so it was wires glued to it

Wet then sun rotted 12" urban in a house box with holes in it

Home audio 4" speakers in front.....painted yellow

J

blau cassette deck, the removable kind, lol

yamaha 6.5's in my doors. powered by a yamaha amp.

kicker comps, 2 tens, 2 twelves in a custom, sorta blow through, powered by a kicker amp. the sorta blow through was a 1/4 campershell, with a box built underneath it. the subs fired up and through the beer window.

86 k10 shortbed.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

single 12" MTX 8000 in a .75 cube sealed box

cheap USED pioneer deck

pioneer 6.5" 3 way speakers in all 4 doors (still have them in the rear doors for when i have rear passengers)

profile ca1200 or something like that

same 96 jimmy :P

Ramos had my kind of amps back when they were new...

:D

Kenwood tape player, Kenwood 40w amp, and a truck box with horn tweets and 8's (some real off brand). Bright enough response that it sounded better in my trunk than in the car. I paid $90 for the whole setup when it was 2 years old.

YEAH Ramos!!! I had a 10" woofer in a...... I kid you not... Corrugated Box (double wall, my dad worked for a box company) The woofer was taken out of my moms home stereo (8 track and record player). NO screws, just duct tape to seal the box. Amazingly enough, it did produce some decent bass for what it was. Oh, and it was just sitting in the back seat of my brother's 1974 Mustang II. Good times. :fing34: The deck on the Mustang was a 8-track player with the cassette adapter. I wish I had pics.

1980 something honda accord hatchback with

2 RF series 1 12's in a "sealed" plywood enclosure

Alpine 75x2 amp(don't remember the model number

Alpine tape deck(pull out chassis)

2 Clarion 4 inch coxails

yeah....it rocked! :takepix:

2 12" old school polk 12s *way before momo*

truck box so shallow i had to put spacer rings on the box to get the subs to fit, even after a 1 inch spacer ring they barely fit

Alpine H/U that came with the truck

MTX Thunder amp that i cant remember what kind it was

total: $100

134.4 dbs
