I'd get a dual two wire it in parallel to get close to 2K on that bad boy...

Plus if it ain't enough you could always add another 2006D on the coil for close to 2600 on it...

If it's a fully loaded BTL you could get a dual 1 and another 2600D and get close to 4K

(i say close as i believe the HiFonics amps are a bit OVERrated)

Could I go with the fully loaded Dual 1 BTL and run it with the Crunch GP2500D at 1 ohm and get 2500w to it?

A single dual 1 ohm will yield a resistance of either 1/5 ohm load or 2 ohm load

If you get TWO D1 then you can wire it in 1 omh or 4 ohm

If you want a single sub set up and want to get a 1 ohm load you need to get a dual 2ohm

"A single dual 1 ohm will yield a resistance of either 1/5 ohm load or 2 ohm load

If you get TWO D1 then you can wire it in 1 omh or 4 ohm"

I believe you mean 1/2 ohm load or 2 ohm load

and 'if you get TWO D2 then you can wire it in 1 ohm or 4 ohm'

;)

I know you knew what you meant.

I can tell you from experience that 1 d2 btl 18 on 1 hifonics 2006d will be amazing, but you'll be better off if you save a bit to get a little more power. If it's something you need right now, you'll be very satisfied with the combo, but if you're in no hurry, I'd wait. The amps can't be bridged together, and it's difficult to get them to match up perfectly per coil. Then you'll still not see that great of an increase in power. They are great amps, just not quite enough for the loaded BTL imo, although enough to get some serious movement.

Again, if you're in a hurry and thats in your budget, get it- it will wang plenty and sound decent. If you can wait a bit to shell out some more dough, you'll be rewarded with a noticable increase in output and a bit cleaner sound from a different amp with a little more power.

tej i can always count on you to back me up when i am fighting with my keyboard and it starts winning LOL

Yupp tej corrected me on the first one...

the second one i didn't make too clear though

I meant to say if he wanted to do a 2 sub set-up then he can get 2 D1 subs

wire each sub to a 1/2 load then series it to the amp for a final load of 1ohm (this is if he went with 2 subs and only one amp for a final load of 1ohm)....

Tej man you're like my spell check lol

lol, Now if only I could check my own stuff a little better :)

I see what you mean w/ the 2 subs though, gotcha.

"you're like my spell check" :)

LOL.

I can wait and money is no real issue, and if I have no problem waiting if it increases efficiency.

I'd love to hear anyone's suggestions for amp options.

I guess I'd be better off with the Dual 2 than the Dual 1, so that's what I'll go with. This will be a ONE SUB set-up. One fully loaded Fi BTL 18.

I haven't been metered since, but there was definitely an audible difference when I upgraded- it made me wish I hadnt bought the first amp. I've loved my memphis 4k, but the RF 3000 would be very nice as well. Memphis makes a 2500 I think, or the kicker 2500. Even the RF 2000 seems to be puttin out around 2500.

Is there a definite price range you want to stick in? New or used or both?
