I've been reading the forums a little bit to get a feel for the subs and read some reviews. I'm havin' trouble deciding on the BL or the Q. I've been hearin' that the BL is the poor man's BTL but also I've been hearin' that the Q has the ability to get louder then the BL? I'm lookin' for just a daily 15" that will be powered by a Clarion DPX11500 1500 @ 1 ohm. I'm leaning more towards SPL a little bit more then SQ. Any advice or suggestions? It would help a million. thanks

Based on that, I'd go with the BL. If it was the other way around, I'd go with the Q.

BL is actually not a poor mans BTL. The BL was for daily street bass. Not many will go driving around daily with more than 2000w+ on their sub.

My brother could've afforded whatever sub he wanted in his truck, he chose the BL because he wants nice clean loud bass, not to compete.

He put 2kwatts on it, and is very happy. It sounds great and is louder than the 12 he had before- loud enough he almost never turns it up all the way. The electrical upgrades and space for amps can also be a killer with the BTL- how many people realisitcally want to figure out a place to put multiple batteries in their car?

Hey, just to let you know, that amp only does 1,050w rms @ 1 ohm. I did a bench test on it back in December at exotic car audio here in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. Clarion really blew their reputation by releasing that amp with those over-exaggerated specs.

BL all the way..You can always get a better amp...That is what i am doing right now..I have my amp at ebay right now...Us Amps XT4000d..Anyway..The BL takes everything I have thrown at it and the important thing is that it has thrown back..Broke the wing off my Metal Trunk lid..So I ordered a Carbon Fiber Trunk lid...It flexes so Hard It cracked my new Carbon Fiber Trunk lid...So this weekend I am filling the Trunk lid with Fiberglass resin to reinforce it...But you will need plenty of power for the BL..I have the Fully loaded version and my Xt4000d was only putting out about 1000 - 1200 Rms to it and it needed more...So..I will have more soon...

well with this shocking news i'm planning to now buy a Hifonics BXi 1606D. Is this amp true to the word of 1600 @ 1 ohm? if so what options should i get for the BL?
