Posted June 9, 200718 yr Im getting an Optima yellow top on sunday for a good deal.I also hear that the batcaps are magnificient also and out of sight. My question is should I get 2 optimas or get one optima and a couple of batcap 800's.I dont know how many batcap 800's im getting because they are so small.
June 9, 200718 yr Author class d amps need 1000 amps apiece to work properly, U really think to yellow tops will do it.
June 9, 200718 yr Author However u can get the most cca's thats all that matters, lol yea true that. I think im gonna get 1 yellow top and alot of batcap 800's.Or 2 all lead batteries, If I cook them really good like my homeboy did. They added up 2 a 26.7 battery charge.WOOOOOOOOOOOO In ya face. June 9, 200718 yr i dont know, i got two batts a kinetik and an oddysey and i believe thats like 2400+1600=4000cca'stwo batts, lolplus a regular battery just because i didnt want to take it out.
June 9, 200718 yr Author I havent got that far but i tell u what I will be really soooon.Whats your voltage on them.
June 9, 200718 yr still a 12v system.i got a 250a alt as well, but i think i might need two more batts for my next setup.
June 9, 200718 yr class d amps need 1000 amps apiece to work properly, U really think to yellow tops will do it.You have 2 10,000 watt amps ?http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=1118here is an excerpt"A typical Class D amplifier is about 75% efficient at full output. A typical Class A/B amplifier is about 60% efficient at full output. Essentially, divide the power output at full capacity by the efficiency, then divide by the test voltage. For example, an amplifier is 75% efficient @ full capacity (1000 RMS with 14.4 volts). This means that current draw will be 92.6 amperes with a sine wave at full capacity and, obviously, less current draw at less than full capacity."now that is a 1K watt amp at 14. volts and it only draws 92 ampsif your class D amps draws 1,000 amps that means it's essentially a 10,000 watts a piece from what i gathered...what kind of amps?I have 2 merlin md.1d 1K watts class "d" amps1 soundstream rubicon 502 100 watts per channel class "a/b" ampAll on one yellow top in the back stock batt up front stock alt and big 3 ...My volatge is steady at 13.7 volts and when slamming hard and rarely drops below 13V with the car on.... June 10, 200718 yr ^ I wish somewhere around me sold kinetic. Might get 2 2500s offline if I could find a good price shipped, but I know my voltage problem is really alternator based (200a alt); no one near me will machine a bracket to fit a 2nd alt, and I'm considering just looking into 2 300a alts offline. I have 3 optima yellows, and a starter I'm considering throwing in there. Great for demo w/ the car off though. Within a month or two I'll have ~ 16000watts though, and I know my electrical system is sub-par for that. Need to get to work on that. Edited June 10, 200718 yr by tejcurrent
