still the same clarion deck..

beats031.jpg

added EQ w/ 7v out

beats056.jpg

got a bigger box maybe 3cubes

beats055.jpg

added a 4" aero.. this box and 4" port was the lowest hitting out of all the ones ive tried so far.

beats071.jpg

138.9db

picked up a used 9515 and also swapped the pca1000 for the pca1500d

the splx was a loud sub.. the dd sounds alot nicer though

sealed off the 4" hole on the front, added a side firing 6" flared port..

this ones lasted a while though, i also had some pioneer 4x6 but they had to go, i cut the doors for 6.5 and have memphis coaxials for now.

i dont think it'll ever be done, though.

ty.. you too!

I am jealous of the sheer amount of equipment you have gone through in 10 months. Granted I have quite an inventory of woofers at this point, but many of them have never gotten to play with me since I learned more about car audio.

I am always building new boxes, and working on my fabrication installation skills.

it started out to be modest but i did a few local comps and started chasing numbers. i'd like to try a few subs out though especially a mag 15 or an RE xxx

i dont think the xxx is cool looking enough!!!! lol

jk, but not really.

k but anyways, wow. nice.

in 10 months ive only gone through lets see... 5 amps. 7 subs, 9 as of current. and 1 deck like you hahaha.

the dd looks killer though. nice work.

I see you went from aero port to sealed then to slot port and now ?????

mind disclosing why the changes in enclosure design ?

and what did you finally settle on and why ?

Thanks jep...

I just like seeking other peoples experiences in all aspects of car audio....

the 1st box was way too small, the second bigger pre-fab box started falling apart and the current was a good deal, built well by the shop owner, lightly used and what i was looking for in the first place.. big box big port

ok its been more than a week but heres some random pics, i took the sub/box out and faced it back towards the rear, im done trying to get more numbers i wanna get low and flex chit, more fun to me i guess.. i pick up the sub amp in the morning and should have everything buttoned up hopefully. i also picked up a 2GB flash drive and ran it off the pioneer USB input and tucked it away in the dash it holds like 380 songs and for some reason sounds better than a CD in most cases

box pics:

Long time no see, SSA! Ive been out of the game since 08 when i sold off all my stuff..

Then i was browsing craigslist a cpl weeks ago and saw my old DD for sale, same exact one, 5 years later. Turns out the seller was fn awesome and cut me a crazy deal so im going to slowly get back in it. Cool part is i drive a 2dr explorer now instead of that lame malibu. 150s here i come..

here she is,back home again. this sub bas been around and is still stiff as new. same kicker wire, same damage to the surround. i about flopped out when i saw it on craigslist.

the only things i have done so far is a pioneer h/u, deadened my doors, MDF baffles for 6.5" DLS coax. i have an old jensen 10 awaiting a 4 channel to run highs/sub until i can get this DD going again. i'll probably order components 1st though, im looking at the AQ or whatever their new name is 6.5's

back from the dead, cant wait to see the new install in the new vehicle.

I saw my audioque hdc3 sub in same box 2 years later on cl haha it was crazyy

what size wire is that?

I got the same basket for an MT recone thought they looked kind of small, so i was going to drill it out.
