So I'm taking my setup to a 1x event in timmonsville sc. I'll finally be getting metered on a t/l, but I'm wondering what I should bring with me, and if anyone has any tips.

There are 2 classes they said I could compete in, truck/suv or something else like extreme personal or something like that. I don't know what would be better, or if it makes much of a difference because like I said, it's my first competition.

I've already been told not to do anything to drain the batteries before getting metered, don't know how sound that is or not...

Just wondering if there's anything I should know before driving 70+ miles away tomarrow moring. ;D Thanks.

Bring a dmm, don't blast your system between runs. keep the car and amps as cool as possible.

Make sure when running to charge before the lanes keep everything non-essential off

also bring some asprin and maybe some tools just in case.

it is a good idea to bring a notepad and keep track of what setting's net what score. A good bassrace song is 3-6 mafia's azz&tittiez starting at 12 seconds into the song, or even as late as 18seconds.

Thanks for the help. Today was a great day for my alternator to start dying. I've noticed it hasn't been keeping 14.5v like it was before, but today was aweful. After getting there I pulled out the dmm- 13.9v at idle with nothing going-and it dropped to 13.8 @1500 rms :(

At full tilt it dropped under 10v- That baby is on its way out.

They started out with bass race, I did a 149.9, which was loud enough to win 1st place. :D

So when I got there they told me my freq. was 44hz, which sounded much higher than I thought. First run for spl I got a 150.6@44hz.

That just sounded so high a freq from the little bit of playing I've done on the a/c mic, so 2nd time around I just tried 35hz to see how it'd turn out. I got 150.8@35hz. Voltage was too low to really do any better, it took quite a while to get back near 14v.

I got 2nd place to Todd Hardwick who set a new state record 157.7 in the truck/suv 1501+ class, I got (way behind) 150.8.

The heat was pretty bad, around 90 in the shade, but there wasn't a cloud in the sky and the sun was hellacious- everyone said they were having a hard time with it, but I just didn't know what to expect.

I appreciate all the help- it was pretty interesting to see what others were doing and talk to guys with a lot more experience than me.
