Ordered the 2nd SD to run strapped and power an HD315, but I picked up another HD for CHEAP. Sat on it for a week and decided I needed to fit them both in the trunk of my Altima. Install wasn't as extreme as I thought it would be and came out pretty nicely. Only vibration/rattle left to fix is the rearview mirror. Filled it with Great Stuff, but now the metal arms are squeaking. Otherwise car has over 150#'s of deadener.

Here's the "dirty" side of the install. Box is painted white and I planned on leaving it ugly, but it got pretty scuffed up during the install and I had some scraps of black carpet, so I covered most of it.

Amps are strapped @1.5ohms and power 2 HD315's in 8.5^3 @ 38Hz. LSQ for sure, but doesn't overpower my front stage at all and I always have the rear fill at the flip of a switch when I'm in the mood.

You have made me jealous. My car is awaiting the second 1500d, but my carpeting skills just aren't there yet. And do I see 4 ga. speaker wire? for the negatives... I will have to take a pic of my pair when it is together.

looks like he running 1/0 for power / grounds, 4 gauge to strap the 2, and 8 gauge for speaker, not sure though.

I am awaiting my 1/0, already using 4 ga from amp to terminal, 8 ga from terminal to subs. Will be using 4 ga as well for strapping. I applaud his carpeting skills. I just went with black for my amp rack as matching would have been a pain.

Yep, it's what I had laying around in the garage, so I used it.

Carpetting job on the box is horrible. I just slapped it on, didn't overlap and trim or anything. I don't pop my trunk for anybody, so it doesn't really matter.

Here's a few pics of build/install. Box was built using Trupan Ultralight, awesome to work with and saved around 50#'s over MDF. Box is solid as a rock and has 136^2 or port area. Double baffle and 45's in the corners.

Here's the box before carpet/wiring. I wanted an "ugly" install as that's supposed to be louder. LOL But I couldn't stand the way it looked.

Here's how it looked with the single HD and what I had to do to fit the new box:

Was a TIGHT fit for sure and I had to temporarily bend up the rear deck to clear the coax's as I was too lazy to pull them out:

I added panels to seal it off to the front and put 3/4" foam weatherstripping on the front, but no pics of that part:

One of my main goals besides being able to have lots of clean/loud bass, was to be stealth and retain use of the back seats. I added a brace across the top/front of the rear deck and built this cover. Kind of like a giant speaker grill as the black is grill cloth. Did a psuedo airbrushed AQ logo.

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Next up is glassing some door pods for the AA mids/Vifa tweets.

That is cool, my back seat has this metal tab which holds the seats in the upright position, so the box is fully exposed with the seats down.

That is exactly how I did my wall (sealing it off too, lol).

Got any pics of your install?

There are some under the build log section, none of my newest install yet as finishing work is still happening, although bits and pieces are there.

Here are just a couple quick shots of some of the new stuff.

Mine had those also. I just unbolted them before cutting the opening bigger. Was going to weld on metal to reattach them, but the only time the seats are up is if someone is sitting back there, so I didn't bother.

That box is built like a tank, although proper bracing is normally stronger than doubling up the walls. Like the triple baffle. Did you flushmount the subs?

The subs aren't flush-mounted at this point. I am in need of a plunge router and a jasper circle jig. The idea behind doing double walls and triple front baffle is that I am going to use external bracing as needed. And minimal turbulence within the box. The aero-ports aren't installed in that box yet, I am waiting patiently for them to arrive.

It's kind of a jeckyl & hyde set up. Keep the remote gain knob down a few clicks and it's just nice bass that blends in and sounds good. Crank it up and it's a BEAST!!! Guy at work said it best, "man that's violent".

I don't play it real loud all that often as it's too much at times. Nose itches, ear drums vibrate, almost instant headache, etc... but I love the punch in the chest you get from kick drums.

I have an ALTY to and the trunk is weak as hell...

What year is yours..

Very Nice :)

I digg the huge port on that boxx, what is the CF of the box ?

how many Sq Inchs is the port ? Freq ? :woot:

2000 and I'll be keeping it a few more years after all this work. Want an SUV already, but it'll have to wait while I enjoy this set up for a while.
