    Headphones?

Sennheiser makes some awesome headphones, check them out I know you can find something that will fit your budget and blow your mind
  2. I love my iPod, it's the only way I can fit all my CDs in my pocket... I'm even posting from it right now and don't feel too old fashoned, my dad still rolls around with a glovebox full of cassette tapes.... Hope you find what you're looking for
  3. One thing that stopped me from getting a double din was that I don't have an alarm and most double units don't have a detachable face, something to keep in mind I was looking into a jvc kw-xr810 because it had a lot of cool features at a reasonable price. Only downside was you needed to take up one of the two USB ports for the Bluetooth dongle(included with the stereo) but hey I'm all about my iPod for my music so I really only needed one port free anyways.

Stereo cuts out at low volume

I think you figured it out, I turned my front gain down and the problem went away. Is it safe to assume there is a short in one of the front speaker wires?

    New Headunit :D

It's pretty sweet little unit with a lot of features. I really liked the iPod controls... However, I returned mine because after a week it would overheat after about 20 minutes of running and boy does it sound like crap when that happens... The manual is on a cd so you can't sit in your car and read the manual unless you have a laptop overall, I loved mine when it worked but hated the overheating problem so it had to go

Not entirely sure what RCAs I've got but I do know they're not RF I think the one might be scoche but I'm not positive. I'll break out the DMM as soon as I can and see what I got

I checked them and they seem fine. Any other ideas?
  8. Last weekend I hooked up a Rockford fosgate p400-4 to my jvc kd-r810 and everything was fine untill today. I went to a friends house and it worked fine but on my way back home the sound would just cut in and out when I turned the volume past 10... At first I thought it was my iPod cable but it does the same thing when I play CDs too. Any ideas as to why this is happening?
  9. What's on your mind?

Need some help choosing a new HU

i suppose used is an option... what did you have in mind?
  11. Recently i had to return a kenwood KDC-BT945U because it kept getting really hot and messing with the sound quality so im looking for something else. Im looking for something that has at least three sets of preouts (front, rear, and sub), aux input, decent ipod/iphone controls, and a good equilizer. Bluetooth would be cool but i can make calls on my phone so i really need something that will play music loud and for long periods of time. The guy at best buy showed me a JVC KW-XR810 but for some reason im a little hesitant with that brand. Id like to keep the budget under $300, but i understand you get what you pay for so going over wont hurt me too bad. I allready got a dash kit for single din but a double should fit too. What do you run and why do you like it? Any advice would really help me out seeing how i got a big hole in my dash right now and id really like to fill it with something good
