    XS XP2000 vs 2 X XP950

So Im looking to add another battery to my truck as Im wanting to have no electrical issues. I have a 2003 Dodge Dakota crew cab with 4.7L V8 and will be recieving and installing my Singer 250 amp alt in about 2 weeks. I have a XS power D2700 in the front and a positive and neg run of Knu OFC 0 guage to back. My problem is I want to put a new battery under my false floor and only have like 6-6.25" max of height and about 16" depth by 16 width approx. I was going to get a XP2000 but even on its side I dont have the height, my question is: will running two XP950's be much less power than an XP2000? I know on paper its not much. Also will this be adequate for a Crescendo BC2000d at one ohm and a 300- 500rms approx 4 channel to maintain 13+ volts?

Finally got some pics, It all needs a good cleaning up but didnt want to go crazy becuase I still have a different amp coming and will make it all pretty once I get that in. Not happy with the finish on the baffle so Ill be changing that but the rockguard came out nice, was a tight fit, have to take out door panel to get it in.

Thanks, Ill try that, Im guessing it is the amp because if I switch out the amp for a different one it goes away. Bought the amp off ebay a year or so ago as a match for my other couple of that model but didn't do much testing after I got it.

Ya I was lucky that HO alts for my truck are easy to find, My experience with Mike Singer has been awesome so far, super quick replying and easy to deal with. Definitely recommend! I love my hertz comps, I put in the rears for my one back passenger but now that I found out my 4 channel amp has an annoying buzz I might just get a good 2 channel amp and just run the fronts. My buddy's girlfriend has a whole focal system and loves it, I found when I was demoing components the focals were a little harsh for my tastes and the Hertz were just as clear but a bit warmer sound. I know its all in settings, install and preference so take it as a grain of salt but that was my experience.

So I reallized after installing my Kicker KX600.4 it has a bad "fuzz" (not alternator whine and only this amp has it,) any idea if it can be fixed or what it could be? Also have a Eclipse 3242 (I think) I might throw it in if this Kicker amp is screwed. THe buzzing is only audible at low volumes but enough that it bugs me. Any suggestions? Just got a shipping notification that my 250amp Singer alt was shipped today and will be here next Friday approx. Good thing! And also would I be better getting one XS Xp2000 or 2 XS Xp950's? the Xp950's would fit under my false floor while the XP2000 would have to go.... somewhere

Need Some Advice, ZCON 15 or 2 ICON 12's

My experience with my 2 15" Icons after a couple days is that they are already on steroids, they get crazy loud and DESTROY the lows but still have a nice tight response and sound good on country or rock as well as rap or decaf. Im very happy with the subs and would definitely recommend them.

    Build Time on DCON 12

I'd private message Aaron Clinton or Mark as they would be the ones to ask. They are amazing with responding quickly if you message them.

Would have loved to have gotten the Xcons but it would have been around $300 more with shipping and these subs are way more than I can handle already. Been without real bass for a long time so I have to adjust again. Also im running a Kicker kx600.4 on a set of Hertz Hsk components in front and Hertz Esk (i think) components in rear.

Just curious hows the electrical? You said you were getting a singer alt. Do you only have the one battery up front? Right now electrical is not up to par, Have to still install my stinger volt meter but im dropping quite a bit. I have gain barely above zero and its plenty loud for average listening and then My stock gauge stays pretty steady once I turn it up much it drops pretty fast. I'm hoping the Crescendo is quite a bit more efficient and the 250 amp alternator will get rid of almost all dropping. I only have an XS power D2700 in front now. May add a xp2000 if I still need to.

I have the subs facing forward right now and it sounds really good. Seems to fit best that way and gives me room for the amps in front. That Rockford is a current hog though. Roof sounds a lot better but still could use a lot more deadening. Also needs a lot of tuning as bass is so overpowering.

Wow just wow. I worked on getting everything in last night and this morning. Hooked up my Rockford t15004 because my crescendo is still a week away. Holy ball its stupid loud on 1/4 volume. Need to do some serious tuning etc so I can try and get speakers to somewhat keep up. Shakes my truck so bad but I got to be very careful as I'm getting bad voltage drop so gains are at minimum etc. Will post pics after work. These subs are awesome.

    whay am i not louder?

Sounds to me like the box is the culprit. Is the box within the specifications of the subwoofers? Generally a prefab enclosure will not give near the quality or loudness as a box built to the specific subs. An example would be a suit, yes you can buy a suit used and it will maybe fit and look alright but if you get one tailored for yourself the look, fit and compliments will be way better as it is made for you personally. Also doing the big three (upgraded grounds and charging wire to 0 gauge) is always a good idea and will put less strain on your alternator and amplifier.

Been working like crazy on the truck this long weekend (Thanksgiving up in Canada) and made some good headway, First thing I did is tear everything off including door panels, rear panel, back half of headliner etc. Then I used dynomat, great stuff (went a little spray happy and some camper mouunting foam to deaden and stop vibration of headliner and other panels. Very happy with results already, hitting the back wall or roof no longer gives that nasty tin sound but instead a hearty thump. Other thing I did today is build my false floor which my box and amps will be sitting on. used seat belt mounts to bolt down the floor and its very strong . Also rockguarded the box today, (except the front baffel) pretty happy with the finish, couldnt get a perfect finish on front baffle so got it pretty good and gave up and just sprayed it black. (will probably put on a beauty panel in future.) Heres a few pics, sorry for lack of them, always just work and forget to take pics. let me know what you think. also ran all wiring.

Wired SSA Icon 12 to 200w(4 ohms) today...

Ya I second that. Hooked up my 2 15" icons in a garage to 100 watts a piece and couldn't believe how good and loud it was. Trying hard to get them in this week.

Thanks for the info. I just pulled out my seats and have more room than I thought. So it will be nice not to be so crammed and could possibly do subs forward port up.

That was my plan originally after seeing your build but after talking to both DC and Ram designs they both thought subs up port forward would be best with my measurements? So with my box as it is the only way I could do subs forward is if I have a 2/3 wall as it is 30w x 30 deep by 22.75" tall. With the subs up port forward Im at the window line or just above it. Only problem I see with port forward is it will be firing right into passenger seat. I guess ill put it in and try it in both positions before I bolt anything down though. And also Swift, your build is probably my favorite i've seen, I might try my hand at the vinyl panel. Did you just use 1/4" wood then thin foam wrapped in vinyl, Velcro onto box?
