Nice work getting rid of that fabric. That is one of the things I have never understood about Japanese cars, they all have really weird fabric colors.

Vladd did you buy your vinyl on the net? I need some for my kicks and haven't started looking yet.nah got it from a local fabric store. I think i paid $5/yard and only got two yards, was more than enough
btw if anyone really wants and if $5 or $6 per yard is a good deal i can probably pick some up some time for you. i say 5 or 6 cause some of the other styles were $6/yard (they had a tighter backing on them, i didn't like it personally cause it bunched up even more than mine on corners)
Sweet, I appreciate the offer. I will try the local fabric outlet in Brooklyn Park and see. I assume that basically you buy the one that looks good and stretches the most?

This has been bugging me so help! For my daily driver SQ system I need to power:
12" Soundsplinter Rl-p --sealed
7" Seas W18e0001 -- IB in custom kicks
Alpine F1 Status Tweet D2904/61001 on a pillars
Old School Amplifiers I have already--power listed at 4 ohms:
PG zx475ti -- 75x4 , 250x2
PG M44 -- 55x4, 160x2
Alpine 3032 -- 30x2
Sony XM-3520 -- 35x2
Pioneer GM-2000 -- 50x2
My current setup has the zx475 running the Rl-p with 250w on ea coil and the M44 bridged running my front stage passive. I plan on using the setup as is but going active and using one of my other amps for powering the tweeters. My concern with the Alpine is the lack of gains and its size. The others I hadn't really considered using but could be swayed.
My options:
1) Use what I have--or keep for later
2) Buy a new tweeter amp
What do you think. If you want me to buy an amp, please recommend!

Even if the box was designed for W6's, the number of people that would have designed it correctly are minimal. You could really damage your subs and have an oustandingly crappy fart box if it isn't right. However, on the 0.000001% chance that the box arbitrarily is right or was designed correctly it could sound great over a very limited number of frequencies.

I didn't like the first gen either. Little concerned with the new "quality control' that Mercedes acquired along with the rest of Chrysler. Now the AMG that is another story. Yummy! Ride and drives are a blast, did you get to "have your way with the truck and see what it would really do?"

Denim, it was more FYI than anything else. Definetely get out and get a house, it is the best thing you can do. A buddy of mine bought two row houses in Balt 4 years ago. Paid $130k for the pair (right in between Camden & Ravens stad) and they are each worth over $300k now. Crazy what happens! Good luck. Hope you find the right one.

Hmmm, just realized I never signed in on the Newbie Sign IN. So for my 225th post, I thought I would say hi! Obviously I didn't read the Newbie instructions...

Just had a thought that made me laugh after looking at Flakko's box building craftmanship. He put a nice how-to on fiberglassing kick pods. After reading his post, I decided that I could build a fiberglass box for my sub even though I had never done it before. I am just not quite sure how the two projects relate though. Your kick project worked out really nice, but....
Anyway, props to you for posting the projects as you personally motivated me to glass in my car! If Supa gives you any chit about building you a baffle I would be glad to send you one...

Only had a little time this morning, but made some headway. I have to stop and think a bit now as the footrest portion of the kick is partially in the way. Being that I am 6'6" I had thought I was going to lower the footrest anyway, but will ponder today and do something about it tomorrow.
Here are the kicks with "clearance" holes cut. I wanted to make sure that the location that I chose to put them in can clear the basket. Lots of room though so it is no problem! When I lower the footrest tomorrow I am actually going to sink the baffles into the kick a little deeper to gain a little more foot space. I love manual transmissions, but not for putting in kicks.
Here are pics of the kicks in their current state today:

Reza, you are going to have to wait and see on your crossover question-- I will either go active or custom build myself some passives. Oh, and I bought the drivers from Nguyen.

Road head. That's why you like road trips.I've got enough room up front for two...now that's an idea...
Shouldn't be an idea, but a reality

Good luck. Been years since I ran.

I do it all the time. Way easier with the big pieces.

Amp Choices for 3 way: lots of old school

My only problem with that is I run out of amp mounting space and 160w x 2 is way overkill on the tweets. I would prefer to run the mids of the 475 though. The bummer of course is my PG M25 died which would have been perfect
