  1. I don't have a random orbital.  WAY over due to grab one.  Never did because of the price of the flex.  Have a rotary, but that is overkill for the condition of the boat.

The Griots Boss seems to get decent reviews and is way more affordable.  Any thoughts on what is bang for the buck.  I will use it 1-3x a year max...

  2. Awesome, thanks Neal.  I will cut it, but there isn't much oxidation.  Boat has been well kept for a 15 year old boat.  Mostly I guess I want to make sure to protect the flake.  That portion ought to be less work than the whole thing. :)

Here is my starting point.  I will refrain from doing the black lower hull, but will probably wrap around onto the white on the gunnel.  Want to make it easy to wipe down every time I pull it out of the water.  This will be a day launch and then back into the garage boat so it should be subjected to all the nasty shit my other boat is.

  3. Dead or not, it is what I want.  Kills me that Honda has Acura, Toyota has Lexus and Mazda doesn't have shit.  If you compare ANY base model of any of them the Mazda wins in every aspect that isn't off road driving...yet, no luxury or performance variants.  Boo.  Major fucking boo.

On that note, the X3 MUST go.  Fucking hate that POS.  At the same time the Escalade has to as well.  I no longer care when something breaks which means it has to get the fuck out.

Lol.  I "need" a stereo for my fishing boat.  Doesn't need to have big sound, must be bluetooth and I'd prefer not a head unit.  That gets terrible reliability reviews, I am sure the speakers are shit and expect the "amplifier" to basically be a repackaged headunit amp...but that is probably ok.  I would surely spend more and would prefer better speakers but small and efficient is great.  Any thoughts?

The above is sold as an amp only for $39 so I could easily grab some IA's from here and would probably lean that way but these will be subjected to rain.

  5. Should add up the insurance and depreciation cost of having both vehicles and then see what it pays for in a single.  I've been down that road and unless you drive wicked miles per year it never pans out.  When I was driving 70k+ per year it did.  Once I stopped I quickly realized 2 cars was just an expense.

  6. Somewhat torn on what to do in my backyard.  Landscaping it and when I do I will install a stereo.  Actually thinking of just distributing it L/R/L/R/L/R/L/R/L/R/L/R/L/R/L/R/L/R across the yard with lots of channels instead of building anything really worthwhile.  It won't be a listening space, but the distance will make output tough without pissing off neighbors.  Perhaps have it switchable so I can have a stereo setup for me and then mood music when it isn't only me.

  7. I also know myself.  Will almost never take enough time to build a passive and if I do it will be a compromise.  The miniDSP is a great tool to play with before designing that compromise as building one that matches what I like works.  I also have plenty of extra amplifier channels so a passive may never be built.

4-Runner and Tacoma won't tow shit, and get the same if not worse mileage than the full size, so pointless.

Mileage isn't that big of a concern, but both of those drive like pickups and are a no go.

Is it wrong to apply for a job that you are interested in but there's no way you would take it (Location)?

Seems like I should be stretching that muscle even if I'm not particularly looking.

I am contemplating hiring someone who is nowhere near the location they need to be.  Covid changed a bunch of shit.
