So I'll start off with my goals. I want a setup where the bass is accurate, precise, and powerful. However, I don't want subwoofers that are just loud and completely overwhelm the musicality of my front stage and midbass. I want midbass that efficiently bridges the gap where my subwoofer(s) fall off and I want midbass that is loud enough to make itself heard. The front stage I'm not too concerned with, though I would like a nice blend for vocals. The experience where you feel as if you are at the concert. That being said, I will now talk about the system as it is now. THE POWER GRID: What's in it now: 180 amp high output alternator. 2000 w…

Hello all, I'm new to this forum and want to give everyone a breif introduction to myself. I've been in car audio since the early 90's, but took a LONG break from it (almost 13 years), and just recently decided to open my wallet back up and get involved again. I like to hunt, fish, now have a serious passion for car audio, and take care of my wife. I'm an outside salesman for a tooling company that mfg's drills, taps, end mills, and other specialty tools. Enough about me... I drive a 2013 Toyota Camry and I am now working on my 4th system in it since the beginning of the year! Yeah, I know, lots of wasted dollars. I thought I was going to start off and be happy w…

Aloha! Screenname is carshateme and if you've been on other car audio forums, you'll see me there as well. Just learned about this one..decided to join. Trying to learn everything I can and get good deals on stuff as well. I'm mostly being used stuff..since they're practically the same as new stuff, don't see why I should spend extra money for something that'll perform just as good at a lower price. Looking for a few amps. So I'll be posting around.

Came here after looking around the forums searching for guidance on my new build. I recently came to the realization that my kickers and alpines were just enough to make me hungry for better sound, and aren't cutting it for me anymore. So its time to start planning and collecting parts for an upgrade. I drive a 2005 Xterra SE. Im looking to get a good bit louder, while maintaining pretty good sound quality. Not really any aspirations of competing. Current build: Pioneer AVH P3200BT H/U Kicker Zx700.5 with 4ga power and grounds Alpine SPR17c (rear doors) Alpine SPR69c (front doors) Kicker comp 12's (2) in a sealed box (i think around 5 cubes and filled) Planned build: Big …

Hey everyone, my name is Josh LaFountain (Mark LaFountains brother) from Baton Rouge, LA. I used to compete very heavily (Team S.P.E.A.D ) in USACi super stock and street beat. Spent about 4 years in the hobby then sold it all to help fund college. But now im getting back in bigger than ever! I used to have an ext. cab Ranger with a pair of Hifonics Goliaths, 5 batts, and 3 RE MT 15's. Spent 4 years doing nothing but burping 52Hz and tweaking every single moving part to get that extra dB. But now im fed up with that and wanna build a complete monstrous ground pounder. So I'm coming out to see Mark in phoenix soon and hopefully we can do an extreme makeover truck edition…

Hi everyone. Im new to this board, but not new to car audio or car audio message boards. I have been a member on CarAudio.com since 2002 with a great reputation. So I'd like to say Hi and hopefully I can contribute a little bit. I am trying to sell two of my BNIB TC Sounds LMS-R 12's so that I can make my Pre-Order for the new SA-8 V2's. My question is, how many post do I need to have in order to post my subs for sale? I looked on the For Sale section and did not see that there was a minimum posts amount to post in that forum. There simply is not a "Post New Topic" button in the For Sale Section for me. Thanks guys!

Hello everyone. My name is steve and i may be a newbi here on ssa but definitely not a newbi to the car audio scene. I have worked at many sound shops since 1993 and have owned my own shop for the past 3 years. car audio is my passion. I compete once in a while when i have time to. I just wanted to thank ssa for the new xcons i received today! They are by far the best 10" subs i have used thus far. Great sound, and loud! I have had many setups in my cars in the past and in my current lexus is 250 i have used orion 10" hcca, orion 12" xt rpro (which smoked) and alpine 12" type r's. I sold the orion hcca's and ever since that i missed them. My trunk is small, so 12's rea…

What's up. I'm Mana, just figured I'd introduce myself. I been a long time bass head, but always observing and obsorbing any and all information I can get. I drive a Dodge challenger and dropped a system in it. Just picked up an hdc4 made a box but idk isn't what I'm expecting. It's Loud don't get me wrong but it doesn't quite fulfill everything I was hoping for. Could be the box, idk. That's why I'm here, to hopefully get some info on it. It sounds hollow, idk if it's bottoming out, because I'd play songs with a different sub and box and it wouldn't make that sound. The amps I'm using is 2 soundqubed 1200.1 strapped. In a birch wood made 4.15 cuft after a…

Hello all, My current system consists of all Kicker mids/highs in an '04 Accord. I have an Alpine MRV-M500 at 2 ohms connected to a Polk DXi DVC 12" in a sealed, rear-firing custom enclosure that measures around 1 cu ft (maybe a little more). Listen to all kinds of music, love heavy bass but am realistic with expectations from only 500 watts. I smoked the voice coil on the Polk within 4 months of installing it. It was rated for 360 watts rms and I got it in a Best Buy deal of the day sale for $40, so no big loss. I'm searching for a 4ohm dvc sub that will easily handle 500 watts from the Alpine sub amp without burning another voice coil AND will be happy in that s…

What do you guys think of an 18 inch Xcon for home audio/ movies? I know this is a car audio forum but i was just wondering if anyone has done this and their results. Home audio subs are expensive for what you get and there's not too many choices really compared to car audio. I'am planning on using a 2000 watt crown drive core amp for it
