i got 2 pairs of infinity kappa 6.5" components hooked up to a mtx x704, and i will have 2 12" fi Q's hooked up to a hifonics 2010D (the subs will be here tomorrow). i will be building a box and was wondering what some of you have done with your Q's. and since this sub is for sq, wouldnt a sealed enclosure be the most appropriate?

Lol in other words...respect to everyone here old and new, here and gone. This is a deep craft that stays highly criticized and scrutinized by many. Some of us just prefer loud music to loud mufflers! This is a new year and happy bumpin' to everyone.... long and low!

Hello All, I'm still an amateur (not quite a noob) in the car audio game, but I enjoy learning. It looks like you have a great forum here. I just ordered 2 12" D1 XCons to go in the trunk of my Pontiac G6. It feels like Christmas is coming 2 months early!! Yeehaaa!! From what I have read the SSA subs get nothing but praise, so I can't frikkn wait! I haven't done a ton of research on this yet, but I'll ask it here anyway. How would you recommend I configure my subs in the trunk? I have roughly 4ft^3 to play with. This leaves very little space on either side of the box for air to push into the passenger compartment with the back seats folded down. I also h…

Hello all... I cant believe I never found this forum. I have been trolling forums lol :-D for at least 10 years now and this is the first time Ive seen this place. Well here car audio background. I use to roll in a 1997 F-150 with a Pioneer Premier 860 wired to a Arc Audio 400.4 with Kove 5.25 Components in the front with kove's upgraded crossovers and 1" tweets. In the rear I had basic 2 way coxials from hart audio. On to the top dog of the system... lol. The Sub was a Kove Armageddon Zm 15" in a custom 2cuFt enclosure behind the drivers seat. (Still have the sub actually... just sittin in my room.) My system was all for pleasure no competitions from me but it soun…

Hi guys, Just got the third 18 in this week and we are starting a new build in a 2002 Chevy Suburban. We've got a TON of room as we're going to go up to the B pillar. We're using 3 SSA Evil 18" subs on 3 Linear Power 2250 amplifiers which should be at 2500w ea (maybe a touch more at 15.8v we will be running with dual alts/batts etc). I've modeled these subs till my head hurts and I've asked a few people for opinions on the enclosure and gotten quite a mixed result. The most popular opinion has been a 4th order using 3 to 3.5 cu ft ea sealed and 9 to 10.5 cu ft ported...modeling looks best to me at 3.5 and 31.5 cu ft with a 30x17.25 port (roughly 90% of total Sd…

So i bought some 6.5 evils to swap out mt HEX 6.5 components .. and was planning on changing out the evil tweets soon as they are available and was gonna use the HEX crossovers. But was told on a different forum that the evils won't be as good. And most likely wont work well with the hex xovers.. should i sell the evils and keep the hex? Your thoughts are appreciated =D. Ty

Designing a build, been out of the game a long time. Looking for any/all ideas suggestions ect. Goal is overall loudness, and daily deep big bass. No one burp comps. However want to be earth shaking as possible within area. Sub box going to be behind the rear seat and top of box not higher than back of seat. I plan to pot this build and look forward to all input.

Hi all, greetings from La Selva Beach CA! I have been into high end audio since my teens which was quite some time ago lol. I just purchased a Lexus GS 300 with the most God awful audio system imaginable so I am putting together a new system. I have chosen an Alpine CDE-175BT head unit, an old school A/D/S PQ 10 four channel amp, a pair of NOS A/D/S 300is panel speakers for the rear deck and a pair of 6.5 in JBL GTO 629 speakers for the front doors. I have not had anything installed yet and I am in the processs of locating a competent installer to do the work as the rear deck speakers will be a custom install due to there being no prior speakers ever installed there. Al…

Hey everyone! Guess I'll start with the basics: Car: 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT2 (Basically stock, although I would like to mod it for performance somewhat) Stereo: HU: Kenwood something or other with USB and aux on the front (not bad, but planning on switching out for a Clarion touchscreen) Infinity Kappa coax 6.5s in the front doors (2-way) Infinity Kappa coax 6x9s on the back deck (2 way) Some random Kenwood 12s in the trunk (bought em off a friend that was getting out of the army and needed the cash) Autotek 4-way (200 total, I can't remember the model or exact specs, it's been a while) Kenwood 8013D for the subs Me: Deployed (yes, it's ghey), and will be without my…

I'm planning a system. So far, it's gonna be a havoc 12 with some sort of sundown powering it. Here's my issue: when it comes to ohms and all that other stuff, I'll admit I get a little confused. I was planning my system based on a simple premise: If amplifier A puts out X amount of watts at 2ohms, and you pair it with a 2ohm sub, you would get X amount of watts. Easy enough, right? Well now, I'm getting the impression that things go further than that. I had planned on getting a sundown 3500D amp, considering it puts out 1,750w at 2ohms. That with the 12" havoc 2ohm sub would be a nice fit, right? (AA states the havoc to be 1,250RMS and I could go easy on the amp power) B…

Hey guys I'm new here and found this site via many recommendations of SSA subs. I currently have a single eD 11Ov.2 being powered by an Alpine MRP-M500 in a 1965 Mustang. I learn more and more everyday that a 44 year old car is just not mean to handle a system (even a small one) and that is why I feel like I am constantly upgrading stuff lol

Hiiii, im building a sub box for a ascendant mayhem, but RE calc is wayyy off.. So I was wondering if i could get some help with someone so i can get the understanding of doing this so i dont have to have help again. PLEASE. The Mayhem is single 12", and in ported can only be in 1.75cf - 3cf. And sub displacement i know nothing of which i do and this is confusing i have 2 sheets of plywood ready to be drawn on, all going to be 1.5" thick unless you think otherwise? Was thinking around 25-35 wide, 15-17" high, 18" deep but the hertz from torres, 12 volt, and RE are all different and confuse me! Could someone make up a thing for me that would work prime around 2-3 cubic ft …

Just got 2 team 18's(dual 2's) and plan on putting either 2 bc5500's or one 'merica 12k on them for power. I want to do a flat wall but need a little help on what size box to use, i.e. cubic feet per sub, sq in per cube for port, aero or slot, and tuning frequency. Thanks in advance for the help! Oh and space is no issue as it's going in an Astro.
