Hello to all...I am sure I will bump into some of you guys from other forums, I frequent caraudio.com and ocassionally carstereos.org. I am originally from South FL, now live in VA. Been into car audio for nearly 20 years now. I am a flooring contractor by trade, have had my own business for about 8 years now. Wood is my main medium and as such I have more tools for box building than God, so if anybody local needs help with a build just let me know. I look forward to getting to know some of you, Paul

I've been out of car audio for 15 years now and am just starting to get back in. Can't wait to get some good info from people who actually know something about car audio. It's a refreshing change from customer reviews and other forum posts like "I got 4 12"s that slam so hard my girlfriend went into labor!"

Hello all, just a quick post to introduce myself. I joined this forum to try and catch up on some technology, I have been out of the car audio scene since about 2002. I stopped messing with them shortly after quitting my job as an installer, which I did for about 1.5 years after going to Installer Institute in Florida. I got my MECP and all that fancy stuff, then was hired by the first shop I called. It was fun but I got burned out after about a year and have done other stuff since I quit. Some of you may know the shop, it is now called Ultimate Audio on OBT in Orlando (or was a couple years ago last time I was in FL). I finally have the drive to want some serious tunes i…

hey everyone. i've been doing a lot of research lately regarding my next sub, and it seems like every forum i read points to fi. I have only 730 watts to work with, can someone point me in the right direction? I was originally thinking about a bl15, but it seems like I'm severely lacking in the power department... thanks

'lo, everybody. im brand spanking new to car audio, but i'm about to take the first steps towards a new system. you'll have to excuse my ignorance i was gonna wait 'til i could post outside this section to raise some questions... but i guess i'll just ask now and hopefully won't get flamed for asking in the wrong section lol. i want to get: Hifonics Brutus BRZ1700.1D D-Class Mono Block 1 x 600 @ 4 OHMS, 1 x 1200 @ 2 OHMS, 1 x 1700 @ 1 OHM Fi Q 12" 2x Kicker DS (or KS) 6.5 Pioneer DEH80-PRS now, what i'm not sure about is if i should get the Q dual 1 or dual 2. i'm starting to understand the concept behind what this means, but my question is, if i get it dual 2 and run my…

My car is a 2010 Mustang convertible and has little room for anything.Would there be any issues with putting the crossovers next to the amp? They are big, 6"x41/2" x2". I know it would entail running more wire but I have a large roll. I have a thing for the Zed Leviathan and I think they would look good next to it.

  19. Question about the use of amps crossovers and sound processors. Is it best to go all active not at all or combine?? Are amp filters as good as sound processors? When you buy a component speaker system you are paying for a crossover too. More expensive units have better crossovers. It’s been suggested that these crossovers use up power so not using them and using HPF and LPF on your amps is the better way to go. An alternative method is using a digital active crossover that can be programmed. Different methods are also to influence phase shifts that can create cancellation or have better frequency curves. The cons would be a dedicated amp just for tweete…

Hey I have to throw Jacob Fuller a huge thankyou for helping to save my arse at SBN. One of the 3000s i have had a leak in the operating smoke pod (and as we all know if the the smoke is allowed to escape from the amp it stops working... if you don't know, that smoke needs to stay on the inside, once it escapes yor amp will no longer work properly) and Jacob found a way to get me another one. This thread is really bringing to light all of those behind the scenes... not just Jacob or the owners but anyone who has gone out of their way to make their customers' experience a good one. Thanx to all those behind the scenes. If you have had an experience THAT IS POSITIVE please …
