I keep hearing about 320s, 380s, and 390s. Even seen people have them installed. But I can't find any real info on them. Any possible way to get info on the 300+ amp Alternators y'all have? I have a 01 F-250 with 7.3, do you have any big ones to fit it?

  3. I Accidentally left my carputer on last night. When i started my car the XP wasn't making my engine happy charging the batteries up at full load. Anyways, this is what happens when the 270XP loads down a 4 cylinder's engine at idle. It takes 20 seconds for the computer to actually realize what's going on and adjust for the load compensation. The alternator in this car idles at 2,000 alternator RPMs. 500 alternator RPMS LESS than the competition. It's rated to do 180 amps or so at this RPM. It takes power to make power. This proves it.

We decided to play with one of our 390XP's on the Dyno. We only have 320 amps of loadbank on this dyno, but in layman's terms this is an almost 400 amp alternator that will do 213 at what our competitors call idle? I just call it ridiculous amounts of power DC Power style.. Everybody else, dream on... And to think, somebody turned 4 of these down....

Figured I would start my own thread after reading through DC Powers forum. Can DC Power update me on my alt status for my 2006 Mazda 3 2.0L 220a alt? Original order was placed a month ago. I was told there was a 2 week delay then 2 weeks later I was informed that the parts were in and should be built and shipped that day or next business day, (great news). Follow up a week and a half later and i get a update that they need to follow up with the production manager again then no update for a week. Before anyone jumps on me by saying its only been a month , I really don’t care. I can understand you have a business but my whole thing is customer service. I would like to kn…

Hello I have a 2007 Mazda 3. It is a 4 cylinder 2.0 liter engine. I will be running an saz-2500d and another speaker amp so probably 2800 watts total just in car audio. I just want an alt that can support that without spending too much money. Hopefully best bang for my buck under 400$?

The thread is to commemorate DC Power for standing behind thier product and honoring my warranty. DC Power makes a top notch product, and has good communication with thier customers. My story: I ordered and installed my 250xp alternator in march of this year. The bracket fit perfect and the wiring was a breeze thanks to the correct plug installed on the alt. No wiring adapter which is good in my book, because every extra connection is just one more place for a problems to occur. The belt that was included was the wrong size and one of the bolts was the wrong thread pitch and alittle on the short side. NEITHER wrong part was a big deal as I could get the correct parts loca…

So... I just ordered four XP 270 alts and a bracket for my Tahoe. For batts I've got an S3400 for the front and four D3100s for the back. To start with I'm planning on running 10kw to the subs, maybe 1100w to components. So I need wiring advice. Do I: 1. Run the positives from all four alts to the S3400 positive post, then go from there to the D3100s (which will be connected with a bus bar)? This is the "single pool of power approach". Or: 2. Run the positive from one alt to the S3400, then run the positives from the other three alts to the D3100s. This approach completely isolates three of the alternators and the four D3100s, which will be used exclusively to power the s…

  17. How much of a difference and what kind of benefits will I get by running a 15.1 voltage regulator on a 270xp? I just got my 270xp last Friday and it was suppose to have this upgrade regulator in it but after I installed the alt I notice that my voltage is only at 14.3. So I think they forgot to upgrade to the 15.1 regulator.

DC Power, I have a 320 amp alternator, I haven't clamped it yet but I will very soon. Would you agree that if I fused the positive run connecting the alternator and battery with a 300 amp fuse that it would blow once the alternator is reaching high rpms? If it wouldn't blow then would you agree that the alternator is actually overrated?
