DC Power Engineering

  1. Started by shizzzon,

Rob told me a while back that i need to pay little extra to have a true 18v regulator installed on my alt. How much is it for starters and is it still internal i hope? 2nd, for safety sake, i'll have 6 25a stepdowns in the car to run it on 12v still.. But, if i purchase the VCM, can i still safely step the regulator down to ~15v if i ever had to bypass the stepdowns?

Ordered a 270xp alt almost 5 weeks ago for a 2004 300m. Was told there would be no wait but you were behind 2 weeks so I should get it once you guys were caught up. Two weeks went by and I got a phone call from Kyle saying you did not have parts in stock and were looking at 1 to 2 weeks. It has been two weeks and now on to the third. Have sent multiple emails that have gone unanswered. Robbie did reply via pm that he would look into it but have not heard since. Just wondering what kind of time frame I am looking at right now. Thanks

  3. How much of a difference and what kind of benefits will I get by running a 15.1 voltage regulator on a 270xp? I just got my 270xp last Friday and it was suppose to have this upgrade regulator in it but after I installed the alt I notice that my voltage is only at 14.3. So I think they forgot to upgrade to the 15.1 regulator.

What brand of belt do you guys recommend using with the 270 xp? I put on a new gates belt and i have slipping on a cold start (less than a second). When the engine is warm it doesn't slip. I have tightened the belt up a few times...seems to help a first but is this because the belt is new and still stretching?

Watching "Inside west coast customs" earlier and they installed a DC power alternator on the main build they were working on, it was a Baja Chase truck for "OX" of metal mulisha. Not sure if it was mentioned before, but i thought it was cool.

I have been dealing with DC Power since last year having conversations with Robbie and Kyle. To make a long story short I choose to no longer do business with DC Power. I was very upset and frustrated with having to choose this route and so was Robbie (owner of DC Power). Robbie contacted me last week and offered his product to me. Robbie expressed his concern with having a customer that was not happy with his company. Robbie truly wants his customers to be pleased with his company's product. I am absolutley floored that Robbie cares this much about 1 customer when his company has thousands!!!!!!! Thank you Robbie, Kyle and the rest of the group at DC Power. Here are p…

Hey DC! Have ya'll ever made an alternator for my car? If so, can you give me the options I have? I'm looking for a little over 90 amps at idle, and maybe if anything, 150 at full output if possible Thanks! P.S. Do you think you can make a Voltage regulator for it? Thanks again!

  18. So I ordered my alternator back on February 24th, it was the 210 amp PRO alternator for my 1998 Honda civic. For the last two weeks, I've been on the phone speaking to Stan about what the status is with my alternator, and every time I was told that I would have a tracking number sent to my email in a few days and I would never get it. When I spoke to him last Friday, he THEN told me that the engineer was putting together my alternator only to find out that they had the wrong housings. Now I can understand having the wrong part or waiting for a missing part to come in, but why did it take 3 weeks for my alternator to finally be put together to only then find out that you …

So I was looking on the DC Site for the available alts for a 1997 honda civic 1.6L and I saw there were 3 options: 1. HP Series for $399 - does 180 max & 130 idle 2. Pro Series for $320 - does 210 max & 100 idle 3. OEM Series for $349 - does 170 max & 110 idle I was wondering the differences between these different series lines.. and also why the pro costs less but has the highest max output?.. Is the hp way better? if so why?.. just wondering because the $400 tag on them.. I guess I just dont know the difference between the different lines of alts really. -Jordan

Since me and Kyle have the same car.. we've known about this for a while... hehe. this summer, i'm goin at it again and need to know which route i am going to take due to timeframe.. I will need my new alt upgrade sometime this summer... Preferrably within the next 2-3 months to be honest. For that timeframe, have u guys been able to figure out, or be able to test the dual 320HPs or is that out of the question? I know the 270xp is in play.. and i know the 390xp is as well.. So, of the 3, which am i looking at for best option this summer? And you know me.. i run more power than what i can fit in this car...lol

Hey Kyle, Stan, Rob. I have talked to Kyle about 4 weeks ago, emailed him 3 weeks ago, and left another voicemail with him today, left Stan a voicemail about a week ago and talked to Rob on the phone about a week ago. I have still yet to get anything figured out or my daily driver running. I haven't heard back from Kyle or stan in over 4 weeks and I was told my Rob that the situation would be taken care of by this week but i am still here waiting. Get back to me ASAP.

I need some help here, I picked up a DC Power 250 (I'm guessing a sp model). I was told it was for a 2005 Ford Explorer V6. I want to install it on my 1996 Ford Bronco. My problem is that my factory alternator (95 amp 3G) has a 3 prongs on the regulator with another single prong plug right next to it. This new alternator has 4 prongs on the regulator and the pigtail I have with it goes from 4 into 2 prongs. Sorry if that's hard to understand, here are some pics of what I'm talking about: the 2 prong plug coming off the DC alt this end plugs into the DC alt DC alt in factory alt in factory plugs What do I need to get this thing to work?
