I was going to put this up months ago but never got around to it. Factory is on the left Mechman on the right New unit installed, fit perfect no modification needed. Months later everything still working perfect.

i bought the alt like 2 months ago because of it not fitting my car bracket it took a while to get the right bracket. but anyways when i installed my alt i notice my car stated to misfire i thought it was my spark plugs so i took it to my mechanic had he told me it was the alt. when he unplugged the alt the car was perfectly fine and as soon as he plug it back in the jerking began. and it gets worst when theirs a load like a/c radio headlights why is my alt causing my car too jerk is it a bad alt watch this video to see and it does charge 14.4v but when the car jerks it drops 14.0 - 13.7

So we installed my 350 SMD with external regulator on my Sierra. When not using the factory harness, I have a message on my instrument cluster saying "battery not charging". Ok understandable, the CPU is not seeing the signal, so we called and emailed Matt. He told us about the jumper to run (the L terminal I believe) but that didn't clear the message. ON TOP of this, the build was done, so I went to drive it home from my buddys shop and had a low brake pedal. Pulling out to the first stop sign, I now have a "service brake booster" light on my instrument cluster. Hi, I recently bought a 270 XP for a Golf tdi, direct from Mechman. It was for a friend of mine. He runs 2 big amps : an MTX te4000 and a Lanzar opti 4x250, with 4 Optima blue batts. The problem is the voltage : too high. It stays above 15v whatever he tries, giving him much problem with the car. After some electronic checkings, some error messages told him : too much voltage ! The alternator is internally regulated, so he can't just buy an external regulator. What can he do ? Now he had to disconnect the alt to drive safely, but he can't do that for too long. Mechman 270 installed in a 07 nissan frontier. Is it normal for these alts to whine? It sounds like alt whine that you would hear coming through someones speakers,but, its coming from the alt itself. Alt is working great otherwise.

I just wanted to let you guys know that your customer service is SUPERB! I ordered my 320a alt for my Mustang (which I was told couldn't be done)... Micheal hooked me up with a great alternator for less than anyone else had quoted me. I called back and spoke with Micheal, he said he had to special order some parts and that it would be shipping out soon. He contacted me the day he shipped the alternator and I got it a few days later! I would NOT hesitate to do business with the guys at Mechman. Will this alternator work in my 2008 Mazda 6? Just wondering because the body styles of the 07 and 08 Mazda 6 are the same.

well my question is if my car is pcm controlled is it possible to perhaps run my stock alt on my electrical for my car nd have my 2nd alt from you(mechman270 unit) and run it with just my car audio equipment? and the pcm will not controll the output at all?

Well I bought this last tax season and after some growing pains with my car everything is still going good. I'm pushing a Crescendo 3500d and a Crescendo 1000c4 with a xspower S3400 under hood and a D1200 in the trunk. voltage at the front battery after a 20min drive on the highway is 14.6 driving and maybe 14.2 at idle. I set it like that maybe I can move it up a tad but I'm comfortable like this I really don't want to mess anything up. I'm saving pennies to change out the D1200 with a group 31 battery.
