Mechman High Output Alternators

Why do my lights flicker with a 300amp mechman in a 2009 Jeep liberty? Charging voltage driving down the road is 14.4 plus and it never goes below 13.4 with the stereo cracked up all the way. I am only drawing around 2000 watts.

Does mechman make a dual alt kit for a 2001 Tahoe 5.3L? What are my options?

2500 dodge ram with factory alt. i have been having major voltage drop issues with my Fi SP4 that i installed so i think its time to upgrade. i run 2 group 31 batteries 975CCA each, how many of these could i run off a single alt? how large of an alternator could i run in my truck and what will it cost? would i need to run more than one for my power demands? about 380A of sound system, a 5KW power inverter and a 450A winch.

My mechman 260 is getting blazingly hot, is this normal? Thinking its a ground issue, I have it attached to a battery which is attached to the motor. Any ideas?

Looking to see what my options are for a 2013 accord 2.4L....basing the system off what the alt options are.

I have a batt bank, 2 hc2400's and a hc1800 Bought a 200 amp power bastard alt that is a direct fit for my 02 taurus It spiked to 16+ volts when i hit the gas lights got real bright then the voltage regulator kicked in and it settled back to 14.5 v. Sent ot back they put in a new regulator same problem. Bought a HO rebuild kit for my stock alt, same problem. Went to a local mechanic and he said there is no way to solve the slow regulator issue I'll buy a mechman if they can solve this issue. I also need a direct fit due to space restraints Why is my HO alt having these issues.

Hi, I recently bought a 270 XP for a Golf tdi, direct from Mechman. It was for a friend of mine. He runs 2 big amps : an MTX te4000 and a Lanzar opti 4x250, with 4 Optima blue batts. The problem is the voltage : too high. It stays above 15v whatever he tries, giving him much problem with the car. After some electronic checkings, some error messages told him : too much voltage ! The alternator is internally regulated, so he can't just buy an external regulator. What can he do ? Now he had to disconnect the alt to drive safely, but he can't do that for too long. i bought the alt like 2 months ago because of it not fitting my car bracket it took a while to get the right bracket. but anyways when i installed my alt i notice my car stated to misfire i thought it was my spark plugs so i took it to my mechanic had he told me it was the alt. when he unplugged the alt the car was perfectly fine and as soon as he plug it back in the jerking began. and it gets worst when theirs a load like a/c radio headlights why is my alt causing my car too jerk is it a bad alt watch this video to see and it does charge 14.4v but when the car jerks it drops 14.0 - 13.7

I have a 270a Mechman that I purchased this spring. Not a month after I bought it it had charging issues and was repaired under warranty. Well now I have another problem and not sure where the problem is. My system is NOT installed right now and hasn't been since the repair of this alt. I have two 3yr old Redtops under the hood now. The batteries rest at 12.6 with the truck off and hold that way. When the truck truck is at idle my voltage is at 12.9. As all. As I give throttle is goes to 13.6 but doesn't go higher. When I come to a red light it's back at 12.8-13.0. Again No radio at all. I'm thinking it has to be the alt again but I have two new xs3400's that could go in …

I've been having issues with the PCM messing with my voltage, so I spoke with Josh Over at mechman and he told me to see what happens when I disconnect it.. this is what happens.. this is something he has NEVER seen. As I say in the video it is not a self exciting alternator. It is a brand new 320a alt.

I just wanted to let you guys know that your customer service is SUPERB! I ordered my 320a alt for my Mustang (which I was told couldn't be done)... Micheal hooked me up with a great alternator for less than anyone else had quoted me. I called back and spoke with Micheal, he said he had to special order some parts and that it would be shipping out soon. He contacted me the day he shipped the alternator and I got it a few days later! I would NOT hesitate to do business with the guys at Mechman. They are definitely on top of their game and some of the best guys out there!

I posted this elsewhere and was told by many that Mechman is the place that I would find the best answer. Was wondering if anyone at Mechman could reply to this , looking to sent my alt in for a self exciting upgrade Was posting my ideas and was given this response. "Just reinstall the stock one and use your mechman you have now as the second alt. Call them up and see if they'll R&R it and install a self-exciting regulator. im having problems with the alternator i bought from you guys......its a 220a alt for a 91 civic..... ok well when i first installed the alt, it had a whining noise to it... sounded like a s/c spoolin up after about 3k rpms... and the whining got louder...so loud it was louder than my turbo (no it wasnt the belt squealing lol).... well the alt finally died and stopped charging.....so i sent it back to you guys to repair.... well when i got it back and installed it... it was still making the same whining noise....but atleast charging..... well after about a month now it died again....doesnt charge at all......i was wondering if i could send this back to you again and have …
