I am looking into buying the 15 or 18. I would like to say that I would rather get the 18, but that's not true. I want to get whatever will promote the best response with my trunk size. I have a 03 grand prix, and the height of the trunk is only 17 inches. The maximum dimensions the box width and length can be are 35 x 30. My main question is if the surround of the sub is only 1 1/2 to 2 inches away from the lid, will that decrease my response? With the 18 the dimensions would be 15 tall x 35 wide x 29 deep with the port firing into the cab tuned at 33hz. Will smaller actually give me the most bass? I'm not worried about SQ, just spl... Thought I wanted a whiskey for the evening, so I made myself a drink. Took a drink and realized; no, I didn't want a whiskey. Now its on to a Shiner Bock to wash the taste out. Its hard for me to drink much besides beer currently, hard alcohol just doesn't taste right, and its not like I buy the plastic bottle shit either.

Motors really dont have a power rating, as it is a function of the soft parts and coils somewhat more than the motor. But they can be made into a 1000W RMS sub without too much issue. SQ, SPL, some sort of mix of things? What coil? Thanks, Scott

Thanks for that info man! So it I have 2 amps a RF 200.2 and a 225.2 ( The old punches, the first makes about 400 watts and the latter about 450). Do you think it would be ok to hook them up each at a voice coil of a dual voice coil sub?

Both terminals are in parallel, either way is the same. "hook up both coils to only one side or do I hook each individual coil up."

One of the grad students has a pilots license and his set runs about 350$ I believe. It is something in the mid range of sets, but it is still pretty darn nice. Get something made for pilots? LOL! I didn't think of it, but I doubt sound clarity is all that awesome. They would be durable I bet. I wonder if they come in 3.5mm audio and mic?

LOUD... i think im gonna order a 15" BL and throw 1200 RMS at it at 2 Ohms. Ported box with my capacitor and in the summer going to do the Big 3 upgrade just want it to be noticeably louder than my current 2 12" MTX Jackhammers that are getting 250 RMS each. In a sealed box The BL is the right choice for that, maybe a good agm battery instead of the cap. Do the big 3 as soon as you can. Im looking at runnin the cap and the big 3 ASAP and when i have more spare cash in gonna invest in a yellow top instead of the capacitor.
