I need some help with ideas. Please note i have very minimal knowledge with subs, amps, etc. My brother is getting a 2007 Tahoe and he mentioned that he wanted a system so i figured it would be a great gift. I was wanting to get 1 BTL 18" & Rockford Fs. amp. If anyone could please help with what specific amps, etc. i need, it would be GREATLY appreciated. A cost estimate would be great too. I had been looking at the T10001bd and T1500-1bd Power Amps but i figured you guys would know a little more than i do. Also, im expecting him to run it daily 1k+. If any additional info is need please let me know. Thanks again! Edit: Looking now, would the BL 18's possible be a bette…

i haven't done anything with audio in months, and i'm wanting to make a new box.. just making sure everythings right, as i didn't know much to begin with lol. To get the vent length, i'm using: . Is that right? it seems like theres a ton of equations for the same thing, and i dont know which one to trust. The other question is that with Vb, am i using the volume of the box, including the port, or do i subtract the port from the volume? The second seems hard to do if what i'm trying to do is to find out how much volume the port is going to take up... Thanks for reading, and maybe answering :bigclap:

A friend of mine had bought the new mag paired with the Sundown SAE1000. Now this is the first sub that he owns and this is the first time I seen a mag. After searching in vain for box recommendations, I seem to have the conclusions that the mag is for sealed enclosure based on the recommended box volume on their site. Does anyone knows would it shine in ported as well? If yes what would it be the ideal volume and tuning? Also he would like more output in his sub so I might design a ported box for him.

One is single cab other is extended. Not my question is, which would you chose to work on. The van, or one of the trucks with a blowthrough. I would be interesed in which you think would have the most potential.. Thankx Probably SQ class... Maybe some SPL Comp... I dunno yet. Thx Josh P.S. could someone give me the pro's and cons of each in their on opinions "IF" you have done this before.

so if you all know, my final system is 2 Fi BL 12" 1000 RMS (1 OHM VC OPTION) 1 Sundown SAE-3000D 1500 RMS @ 2 OHMS **BOX: Dual 12" Ported Box (specs are below) Width: 40 Height: 16 Top Depth:20 Bottom depth: 20 Wood thickness: .75" Square Port Height: 14.5 Square Port Width: 5 The idea was to cut a rectangle behind the box, and behind the armrest in the backseat to allow air from the subs out, is this a good idea for more bass/airspace? I wanna hear what you guys think....HERE IS A PIC OF IT

Soooo, some stupid drugged up moron stole a truck on the other side of my neighborhood....while running from the cops he plowed right through my truck and totalled it completely....right after just getting it ready to put a system in a blowthrough. Sooo, now I am pimpin a nice newer 2008 F150 FX2 (bright red)....it is pretty sexy....anyway, I dont think I really want to do a blowthrough anymore. This truck looks more like a performance truck, so I am thinkin of just putting some subs under the back seats (4 dr) to keep the weight down a little. I have never sat in a truck that had subs under the seats......how do they sound and can they get decently loud? again, this …

Some of this was leftover in a subwoofer enclosure that came as part of my interior swap. 4 pairs of wire probably about 18 gauge braided, no outer jacket. i was wondering if it is something they did by hand at the shop or if i can buy a roll?

hope to get some inputs for the sub. it could be a single 12", dual 12", dual 10" or a single 15". car to be designed on is a 96 accord. target is to be able to play loud but accurate. meaning it can play rap, techno/trans, soft/ballads, rock etc., still with good readings from termlab... possiblly dbdrag style yet as accurate sounding as possible. requirements: 1. box is no bigger that 3.5 cubes - so that spare tire would be accessible 2. box design can only be a wedge 2 enclosure type box - to maximize all space and still get the spare tire 3. sub would be placed facing the cabin, possibly on the back seat position for a single sub, but towards the trunk for a dual sub …

I'm going to build my first wall in the back of my 2001 chevy blazer for (4) or (6) 15" AA Havocs. I'm not looking to burp or compete really, just move a lot of air and sound good doing it. I currently have two Havoc 15's ported in a 9 cube box, tuned to 38Hz and it sounds pretty decent. I'm looking to step it up and I'm already maxed out for box size without a wall, so thats my next move. I don't know whether to build a bandpass or a large ported wall. I had a 4th order in my old truck (extended cab pickup) and it was one of the best sounding substages I've ever heard, but I don't know how well it would work in an SUV.

I have my kenwood excelon 4 chan mounted in front of my sub and port... I think the vibration is the reason I had to get the digital processor replaced on the amp and kept giving strange errors on the display. we tried larger head screws and my next option is rubber washers to stop the amp from vibrating so much. or would it be smart just to forget about the amp and jump on the pre order for the sundown 100.4. has anybody ever heard of that problem before?

About a year ago I bought my first subs which were just cheap Duals from Best Buy. I am still using them today, but in a box I built for them. The box was actually made for two 10" FI Q's and I just put the 2 12" Duals in them temporarily, but I never got around to upgrading so the Duals stayed. Now I'm looking at more options, but deciding to go a slightly different route. I figure a decent sub with the right install would sound a ton better than what I have now, so that's what I'm looking for. I don't have an exact budget in mind, but I'm basically looking for the best bang for my buck. I don't want to spend too much by buying a really power hungry sub, along with a lar…

I've got a leftover system that was in my truck, that I'm going to be putting into my car. I'm not sure what the general opinion on my equipment is, though....I've got a Phoenix Gold Octane R DVC 12" sub, in a ported box right now (tuned to 37hz), and a Audio Systems Twister F4>380 4-channel amp. (http://www.audiosystem-america.com/f4380.html) What are your guys' opinion on this? I'm not sure of the RMS of the sub, so would it be safe to bridge 2 channels for each coil, or should I just run it as a 4-channel amp? If I do that, then I can also use it to power a set of door speakers.

I know some about car audio, mostly from my modding and electrical work, but I'm still confused about a few things...so bear with me. 1. SPL or Daily - we all know there's a difference, what will you be using your system for? - But what EXACTLY does this adhere to? I'd be using my system on a daily basis, not maxed out all the time, but I'm a major basshead, so there will be many occasions where I'll be wanting to tear the chit out of the guy next to me, without putting any stress on my system (subs specifically) whatsoever. So what would be better? SPL or daily? SPL gives you more power and punch correct? While daily gives you lasting performance right? Well I want the p…
