The alt is currently out of the car thou because i decided to get a chrome pulley instead of the gold pulley... im also waiting on getting a gm stage 2 performance package to get a smaller supercharger pulley to get the belt to fit.

  4. so if you all know, my final system is 2 Fi BL 12" 1000 RMS (1 OHM VC OPTION) 1 Sundown SAE-3000D 1500 RMS @ 2 OHMS **BOX: Dual 12" Ported Box (specs are below) Width: 40 Height: 16 Top Depth:20 Bottom depth: 20 Wood thickness: .75" Square Port Height: 14.5 Square Port Width: 5 The idea was to cut a rectangle behind the box, and behind the armrest in the backseat to allow air from the subs out, is this a good idea for more bass/airspace? I wanna hear what you guys think....HERE IS A PIC OF IT

Hey guys, I would love to get into competing one day, and I have a question for you audio ethusiats. I have a few old "spare" vehicles around my house.... 2 trucks, and a van. One is single cab other is extended. Not my question is, which would you chose to work on. The van, or one of the trucks with a blowthrough. I would be interesed in which you think would have the most potential.. Thankx Probably SQ class... Maybe some SPL Comp... I dunno yet. Thx Josh P.S. could someone give me the pro's and cons of each in their on opinions "IF" you have done this before.

Some of this was leftover in a subwoofer enclosure that came as part of my interior swap. 4 pairs of wire probably about 18 gauge braided, no outer jacket. i was wondering if it is something they did by hand at the shop or if i can buy a roll?

  8. Soooo, some stupid drugged up moron stole a truck on the other side of my neighborhood....while running from the cops he plowed right through my truck and totalled it completely....right after just getting it ready to put a system in a blowthrough. Sooo, now I am pimpin a nice newer 2008 F150 FX2 (bright red)....it is pretty sexy....anyway, I dont think I really want to do a blowthrough anymore. This truck looks more like a performance truck, so I am thinkin of just putting some subs under the back seats (4 dr) to keep the weight down a little. I have never sat in a truck that had subs under the seats......how do they sound and can they get decently loud? again, this …

  13. This is my first system, might attempt DIY if I can find someone local to walk me through, or there is a small local shop I trust. Going in 07 Yaris Hatch. i was thinking subless, but now I might want to throw a 10" sub in the back for some more SPL and bass. I want an even mix of SQ and SPL, (50:50) but if I tilt to more SPL (40:60 respectively), I won't mind. This will not be a competition car. Going to run active. Current parts (in hand) HU: Alpine CDA-9887 Kick-Panel: Hybrid Audio (HAT) Legatia-4 (L4) Rear: RE Audio XXX 6.5 Components w/ tweeters (tweets in the A-pillar or by the L4's, not decided yet) I'll be using Second Skin's Damplifier for the dampening. So... Wi…

I've got a leftover system that was in my truck, that I'm going to be putting into my car. I'm not sure what the general opinion on my equipment is, though....I've got a Phoenix Gold Octane R DVC 12" sub, in a ported box right now (tuned to 37hz), and a Audio Systems Twister F4>380 4-channel amp. (http://www.audiosystem-america.com/f4380.html) What are your guys' opinion on this? I'm not sure of the RMS of the sub, so would it be safe to bridge 2 channels for each coil, or should I just run it as a 4-channel amp? If I do that, then I can also use it to power a set of door speakers.

I have my kenwood excelon 4 chan mounted in front of my sub and port... I think the vibration is the reason I had to get the digital processor replaced on the amp and kept giving strange errors on the display. we tried larger head screws and my next option is rubber washers to stop the amp from vibrating so much. or would it be smart just to forget about the amp and jump on the pre order for the sundown 100.4. has anybody ever heard of that problem before?

  17. I know some about car audio, mostly from my modding and electrical work, but I'm still confused about a few things...so bear with me. 1. SPL or Daily - we all know there's a difference, what will you be using your system for? - But what EXACTLY does this adhere to? I'd be using my system on a daily basis, not maxed out all the time, but I'm a major basshead, so there will be many occasions where I'll be wanting to tear the chit out of the guy next to me, without putting any stress on my system (subs specifically) whatsoever. So what would be better? SPL or daily? SPL gives you more power and punch correct? While daily gives you lasting performance right? Well I want the p…

About a year ago I bought my first subs which were just cheap Duals from Best Buy. I am still using them today, but in a box I built for them. The box was actually made for two 10" FI Q's and I just put the 2 12" Duals in them temporarily, but I never got around to upgrading so the Duals stayed. Now I'm looking at more options, but deciding to go a slightly different route. I figure a decent sub with the right install would sound a ton better than what I have now, so that's what I'm looking for. I don't have an exact budget in mind, but I'm basically looking for the best bang for my buck. I don't want to spend too much by buying a really power hungry sub, along with a lar…

So far from what I've researched, based on the music I listen to (Rap, ,etal, alternative i.e....Trick Daddy, T.I., Outkast, Linkin Park, Chili Peppers, and everything in between. Lol, all kinds of chit). I want an all around set-up. Not for competing, just good loud sound quality and hard hitting bass. I'm not going to state SPL or SQ because I've learned that these terms can be mis-interpeted by some. Sound quality can be a subjective term and I'm not looking to be burping. This is what I'm planning for my 96 Impala SS: 1 Fi BL 15" 1 Sundown 1500 1 set of Morel Tempo 6.5's in my front doors (Not ready to go active yet) 1 Sundown 100.2 Big 3 240 amp Alt Knuconceptz…

  22. So I obviously need to upgrade the electrical wiring and alternator in my 1996 lexus es300, and idk how much that will cost, and i wanted to put 3 BTL 12" in my trunk in a custom ported box, and i needed 3 nice amps to power them, i was thinking CRUNCH 2500 Watt or SPL 3200 watt since they can give out a lot of power for a low price....any other suggestions, and how much will upgrading the ENTIRE electrical units be, Alternator, wiring etc.... 3 BTLS---------------------$1100 Pioneer Deck--------------$400 Polk Audio Components--$300 3 Amps---------------------$660 for Crunch $1060 for SPL ------------------TOTAL=$2660 (Does not include labor or the electricals) what will…

I have an ea alternator with an external voltage regulator. 12v under the hood and 16v 8400 in the rear. When i turn the vehicle on and adjust the regulator charge at 14.4 volts under the hood, the rear is charging at 21+volts. so, ill adjust the rear batt to charge at 18-19v and the 12v batt under the hood is charging at 12.4. Why? Could this be because the batcap 8400 hasnt been charged in several month and the 12v battery under the hood is at proper charge btw i do have a system setup to run a 12v and 16v....like a step down does this makes sense? lol

I am building my first system my car. I have done lots of research and have come up with this. Its a 2003 dodge neon. My budget is about $1000 (+-$100) I listen mainly listen to hip-hop, rap, techno (trance). Then some classic rock, some metal, and some alternative I am looking for great SQ let me repeat that SQ is the top priority in this build, but I still would like to be able to turn up the bass to loud levels and impress people I want something that will give adjustability especially the bass. Will an amp with a remote give me this adjustability? This is my list so far but I am willing to completely change it based on your suggestions. Head Unit-/link http://…
