just like it says, i have an old Jl w6 15 the basket is good, i cut the souround and the spider to pull the sub apart to show my lil brother how it works,...... anyone do a recone with say an fi cone?? or anyother.. or do you think it MAYBE work listin it on ebay for 10 bucks

If I wanted to divide my rectangular port right down the center for some extra bracing, will my port length have to stay the same or does it change since I technically have 2 seperate ports now???

How do I find the DCR of an amp?

So my cousin just got a boat, he doesn't want big system, he wants something would just give him good sound, so my questions were that boats operate on 12v so i wouldn't need all those of marine audio or do I? Can I use like a regular car deck and speakers and amp? He just wants 4 speakers, 2 off the amp and other 2 off the Hu's power and leave the rear channel on the amp for a sub. But do you really need a sub for marine use would you be able to hear it? He just wants some thing little not go all out just for chillin...

Recently went to woofersetc and found this company 'Wet Sounds' The pricing is around the same ball park of ZED Audio... These are "marine" products apparently but they look pretty nice. So, I've been pondering this a while now... Why is it that the majority of home theater or home stereo drivers are designed for higher nominal resistance? Would the main reason to use 16 or 8ohm loads vs. 4ohm loads be to keep THD ratings down at the amplifier? If so, is this primarily just a result ipso facto of engineer marketing? THD ratings of 0.00000000001 into a 16ohm load sell's $1800 home amplifiers.

What’s everyone’s experiences? Had numerous small systems but always in older cars. Seen a few posts online from random people and responses are over the place. Some are like its voids all electrical, or just the audio on the car, or the audio and if the dealer says it affected another circuit or system. Just wanting experienced audio enthusiast opinions/ experiences. It’s a 2017 Camry. Wanting to either transfer my existing stuff in( 2 JL12wo in a slot ported wedge box, jl 500.1 and the big3) or upgrade to something bigger. Pair of sa12’s on a 1500.1. I've got enclosures fiberglassed into the rear quarter panels of my Tahoe, and can't give up any more of my cargo room. I work as a General Contractor, and frequently carry plywood and sheetrock in the back of the truck. My current Celestion AD15H's sound great with the crossover point set at 40HZ, reproduce the low frequencies with great detail, even with the measly 250 watts I'm sending them each through my Lightning Audio 500 watt mono amp (2 ohm load). The only problem, I've found that they have a tendency to "blatt" (for lack of a better term) if I up the crossover point to even 50HZ. Could this be a result of too little power, too small of an enclosure, too high (or…

Been looking at the Fi Qs. But now I've read some good things about the Havocs as well. Just checking to see which one you guys may think would be a better all around daily driver for a sealed box with .90 cuft. per sub. Except for the fact that they're a good company I really dont much about Ascendant Audio. Which one has more Sq and which one is more Spl oriented or would one be better at both than the other? Also how much do the Havocs cost I couldnt seem to find that on their website. Thanks for any input.

I went to my first car audio competition over the past weekend. I finished first in my division ( amatuer). It was a neat experience. I scored well for my first show and met some really cool people. I got some help from a world champ sound quality guy. He brought out an RTA, we talked and tuned for about 2 hours before I got judged. Learned alot just in the short amount of time. Was all in all great time. Also wanted to thank M5 for his input and sharing knowledge. Cant wait till the next show, I can attend. This may be the start of a real addiction LOL!!!

Well I got a second battery it's a duralast gold from autozone it says wet cell sealed, I have a second space under my hood where my truck uses the same body as the diesel but is a gas burner. I would have to custom fab a bracket to hold it there, but could I just use it inside my truck? Is that safe I've heard they vent hydrogen on non sealed I just want to blow my self up haha is anyone else done this?

Just wondering if you guys knew from experience of how you guys find out these things. Its the 7 speaker JBL premium system. Subwoofer mounted in rear deck IB, mids in doors, and two tweeters up front. Just looking where to find info on replacing these or anything like that. I've heard that the subwoofer craps out pretty easily and so I've just been looking for a way to replace it if need be with an aftermarket!
