So I finally figured out roughly what I will be doing, probably a single 15" BL ported. How should I position these in my trunk. I know the typical is subs and ports facing the rear of the car. More than likely I will almost always have the back seats down, should this affect the way I point my subs and port. Should I go subs facing forward with port foward if my seats are always down, or subs facing the rear of the car and port facing the front of the car. Thanks for the help and patience with me.

First off I know how to make a sub sound good but little about SPL. I built my son a Power Wheels vehicle to compete in MECA Kids. We have won two World Championships with it. Both on the drive-by section. It is an open dunbuggy type Power Wheels. It does not meter well inside because there is no dash. BUT because it is open we usually take drive-by. This year there are already two scores over what we did to win finals. Currently there is a 12" DD 3500 I believe it is with 1400 watts. With the success I have had with the Fi's in my car i want to switch over this year. What do ya'll need to know to start this process? later! Kirk

So I just bought a matching RE XXX 04-05 motor and I want to either do (2) 12"s or (2) 10"s. I have space in the trunk to provide both enclosures, but a 12" build would suck up every bit of trunk space and I'm afraid of having to built the box in the trunk. I really don't want to do this..My car has 165k on it, and I don't want to have to get a new rear suspension, or struggle with fitting the box through my trunk opening. I suppose I could turn the box and slip it in through the back seat, but sealing off and port forward, subs forwards, and trunk wall are all new to me. I was thinking of doing (2) 10" in about 5 cubes and port back subs back. Slamm…

Hi guys, I just receive my Power Master Batteries 2x D3100 which will be installed each side in the trunk and 1x D5100 in the front not installed yet because i've cut the trunk floor which i will modified it so i can get more room for an ported box and to hold the 2x D3100, but I'm looking for an shop to do that job (steel job and welding) And for wires I'm thinking of 4x runs of 1/0 gauge KnuKonceptz from front to the D3100's in the back, 2 runs for each D3100's and from there 1x 1/0 awg and 1x 4awg for 1x MD-21 and 1x MD3D at each sides. And i've installed my Ohio Gen Alt. which is 230A at 14.2 Volt (dyno sheet) it came with a external voltage regulator, and i set the …

I pieced together a simple system for my friend, 2008 F-150 Ex-Cab. I installed everything which is.. Pioneer deh-p7200hd, 4 gauge amp kit, Kicker kx400.1 and today we built a box for the brand new sa-8 which is 14 width 13 height 14 depth. port is 12.5 width 1.5 height...after sub and port displacement its supposed to be .821 tuned at 34hz. I have it wired to 1 ohm. Well heres the PROBLEM. It sounds bad and should be 10x louder and lower. A friend of mine has a single sa-8 in a 1.0 cube box tuned to 34hz on 50watts and it SLAMS in his hatchback and its even 10x louder and lower in his piece of shit suzuki samurai so i know there has to be something wrong with the box sp…

Does the air moving around in a sealed box take any temperature change in relativity to the cooling of the coil? Since air is bouncing off the back baff does it actually cool the coil more effieciently than a ported enclosure?

Ok, I don't know anything about home audio to start out with, so keep that in mind with your responses please. Ok I have 2 RE, RE 12's (DVC 4ohm) and a pair of CDT EF-61 6.5" components (05 model) I would like to make a dorm room setup, yes to make matters worse, the signal is coming out of a COMPUTER. I have a M audio 5.1 sound card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16829121122) This is the card if you are wondering. Ok, I am wondering what type of enclosure to put (I am thinking only one of the RE's) in. I can build anthing out of wood that I need to, just don't have much experience about the finer aspects of box building, but a wood shop is noth…

Looking over my setup, now that it is out of my car, I have a question just because I want to recheck myself. My setup consists of (2) 12" D2 XCON's, (2) SAZ-1500D's Strapped, and 1400 Kinetik Batterey, along with the wiring and blah blah blah. Would I want a Series/Parallel wiring setup for this, or a Parallel/Parallel? Or does it even matter?

Hello guys i have recently pulled all the factory crap out of my truck and ordered some things but i have a few problems. I bought a set of Cadence CVLT-35B tweeters along with a pair of Selenium St-200s i also purchased two pair of Alpine SPS-500(i know i could have gotten components just didnt want to) . The amp i have is a Hifonics HFi100.4 and the headunit is a Pioneer AVH-P5200BT. At the time of purchase i didnt know the seleniums needed a bass blocker of some sort so i searched and came across using an active crossover. My question is would i be able to use what i have listed with the addition of a crossover or should i buy a separate amp for the tweeters? The cros…

Ok, I'm going to attempt to build a box. I was just wondering about the bracing. Basically I have two 3/4" panels I can use for bracing. Should I glue both together, to have one solid 1.5" brace. I was thinking I would mount the sub off-center, so I could put the brace more toward the center (if I do it this way). Or, should I keep the sub in the center and use a panel on both sides? Thanks for your help P.S. If you need to know specs, it will be a 15" w/ 500w in a 2 cu. ft. box

so heres the deal. 2 SSAicon 12's . 2 Phoenix Gold V1502's. i'm not 100% sure but it seems like a 1.5 (i think) 2 12 sealed box. the amount of power the SSA's are amazing. anyways so i have a 98 malibu (folding back seats) right now i have the subs facing the back. i'm sick of having the box sliding around and afraid of damage so i'm going to put some L brackets to brace it. but first should i have the subs facing the back or should they be facing the front?

Okay, I've found myself lately to be more keen on the particular sound of paper cone drivers. I am wondering if anyone else feels this way or differently. Is it perhaps just the better driver or application, or does cone material in woofers/midbass/midrange have a noticable affect on the sound? It's clearly evident in a lot of tweeters between metal/soft domes or otherwise, but how do people feel on the woofer side? I'd appreciate any knowledgeable on the subject who could give some insights on which materials may have better sonic characteristics.
