  1. I regret going with a Cadence Z800 over the A7HC, because the A7 was a sick amp and it would have been more useful down the road. I also regret selling the only MAW-10 we had here, would have been perfect to squeeze in our little movie room. I sold a few original SoundStream amps, the most recent being the 164, clean strong little amp.

Ok, I'm going to attempt to build a box. I was just wondering about the bracing. Basically I have two 3/4" panels I can use for bracing. Should I glue both together, to have one solid 1.5" brace. I was thinking I would mount the sub off-center, so I could put the brace more toward the center (if I do it this way). Or, should I keep the sub in the center and use a panel on both sides? Thanks for your help P.S. If you need to know specs, it will be a 15" w/ 500w in a 2 cu. ft. box

Quick question. I will be running 4 18" BTL's. Upgrade wise, big 3, 300 amp alt, and about 4 kinetik 2400's.....i will be pushing about 12k watts to the subs as it is, roughly 3k each sub, well that is what i plan to push to each at least. I am about 90% positive i will need two alternators, what do you think?

Alright i'm going to be getting my first system for my car. I plan on getting 2 12" FI SSD's and a cadence TXA-1000d which is 1000watts at 1 ohm. I have heard many good things about FI that is why i am getting the SSD's but do i need them dual 2 or dual 1ohm to work with that amp. Does this sound good or should i get something else. All this will cost me around $600 so that pretty much is my budget.

First, what is the different between the Original, and the Extreme Dynamat? Because, I am thinking of just getting two packs of the Original Speaker Kits. A set for up front, and a set in the back. I didnt think I would need to shell out for extreme. Should work all in the same manor right? I'm only going to put in the new '07 Type R comps and coax's. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=12644 And also, my car is a 2002 Honda civic SI. I believe it has a 70 amp alternator. My sub amp will be pulling 1300wrms and speaker amp doing 60 wrms a channel. So, will I need a capacitor? If so, how many farads? What brand is good? Because I also have after market…

hi, i currently have a 200 amp alternator ( excessive amperage) but i have had a problem. it came with a 2" overdrive pulley and i need a shorter Serpretain belt for it and they don't make one short enough. so i have to go with a 160 Amp alternator because of the Serpretain belt problem. the amps i have/ going to be using are: Us amps md1d @1 ohm (1200 underrated watts) and Jl Audio 450/4 because of the RIP Power supply. Would a 160 Amp alternator be big enough for roughly around 1650 rms watts? and i am going to get a Yellow top Battery under the hood.

just a thought what would you think would be the highest db set up with the lowest amperage draw. Basically the most efficient system with the highest db's I was wondering what was on the other side of the spectrum.

Hello, I plan to buy some subs from here. I have a 93 camaro. Im wanting a very loud system with decent SQ. Ive been told to just get 1 10 in a custom box on another forum, but was hoping an emloyee would help me more. I was planning on getting 1 BTL 10/12/15 but dont know which would be best given the room in a camaro trunk. I will be powering it with this http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...product_id=4200 And my friend who has I think 2 rockford fosgate t1 15's, dont know the amp powering them. In a chevy tahoe. He swears by rocford and im wanting a system that will be just as loud, if not louder then his.(least thats what im hoping for)

So I've got a few more options for you guys to run through with me. I'm attempting to reuse a lot of my old system so I don't have to go through the ordeal of selling it all and rebuying most of it. So here's where I stand so far: 7" Mids one of the following choices: Seas W18EX-001 Seas W18NX-001 Peerless XG18WH00 Tweets I'll be re-using my Aurasound silk 1" tweets Amps I was going to go with DLS, but I have a Monitor 1 combo I want to try and use - Monitor 1 Mk4.70 for tweets and mids (with matching MX-1 crossover) - Need a sub amp (300w @ 4ohm minimum) Head Unit something with DVD playback capabilities. Since I'll be using an active crossover already, I don't really …

Ok heres the beef n chedda In a trunk orientated system how does a (side ported) enclosure perform v/s (sub back port back) or (sub forward port forward) or (sub back port up) for SPL or SQ applications. Example: Kicker DCVR122 v/s DIY DCVR12 enclosure in various port sub positions already mentioned.

well the show today was pretty good. Had quite a bit of SPL cars there. They had SQ cars for all classes, but only one per class so they all took 1st place. They only had one Extreme SPL car that i do have pics of and it hit i believe a 171 db. Its the Treo Car. I was running my Icon 15 in the new 4 cu ft box tuned to 40 hz with my SoundStream PCA 2000d on it wired at 1 ohm. I was actually surprised i placed 3rd in my class out of 10 competetors. the finals pics are of me, the trophy, and the paper with the ratings on it. My highest was a 143.9 db, but then again the Icon is LSQ and the testings on a good SPL box are still up in the air. Hope you guys enjoy. 1…

Since I got some time and a little money (very little) on my hands I really want to start tinkering with something so I am going to add a substage to my truck. First off my goals are to add a substage to take some pressure off the front stage and overall, make my system better sounding. I plan on running a Mach 5 MAW-10 with a Rockford Fosgate P325.1 amp in a sealed box (up or downfire) in an extended cab. I have set my budget at 220 dollars for everything including box supplies, distribution blocks, and extra wire. The budget really may be hard to not break but its all I can afford for a while. I saw a MAW-10 used for $40, shipped on the forums here but noticed the threa…

First time on this website and im glad i found it. Looks like there are lots of knowledgeable people here. I plan to do a total makeover on my stock system in my toyota 4runner. I have many ideas but nothing for sure. Here is what I have been planning: - 6.5" Focal 165 KP for the front - Alpine SPR-13C coaxials for the rear. - Rockford Fosgate T400-4 Amp - Either two JL Audio 12W6v2-D4 or one JL Audio 13W7 - I was thinking some sort of alpine or power acoustics amp to power the subs. I could desperately use some opinions on this setup. I listen to all types of music so i want decent sound quality. For the most part the subs are going to be at a decent lev…

when someone who thinks he knows a lot about car audio (and he doesnt) and has a lot of money braggs 24/7 about what he has? this one guy in my area has MTX throughout his car. i think he has 2 12 8500 subs and a 1000 watt amp. anyways, he always says MTX is the shiznit and that nothing even comes close. he also told me that MTX RULES the competition. i brought up RE and FI and he was like nope, MTX would KILL them all. lmao. this has prob been posted before with different people, but imo, it all depends on the install, and more so, the persons taste in music and what he thinks sounds good. im not saying mtx sucks, but im sure it is not THE ABSOLUTE BEST. everyone has th…

  25. Ok I promised a tuturial on how to package a heavy item so here it is. I recently had a pair of Shocker Sig Motors ( 80lbs Each) shipped to me. I explained to the shipper my technique and once again it worked flawlessly. Motors before shipment First thing you need to do is locate a box that is around 2-3 inches larger than the item you are packaging all the way around. Then you stuff the bottom of that box with a layer of foam pool floats (yes the kind like this) after stuffing the bottom full of noodles sit the item you are shipping in the box and fill the sides with pieces of foam. After that you need to put a layer of foam on top inside that box. You want this bo…
