so i was originally going to go with a blowthrough design, but have been reading other build logs and posts and came up with a new design. don't quite know if it is still a blowthrough design or not, but this is what i got. the plan is to take out the rear window of the truck, seal it with the rubber boot replacement to this enclosure in the bed of the truck. the view that you see is what will be facing the cab of the truck. the bottom wall under the space for the rear window should come up to the line above where it says 'KonFUSEed', the rest will be open. i was thinking of getting a piece of plastic trim to go around the outside and still doing the bottom half in bedli…

Hey guys..im not really sure if this is the right section to put this in, so if its not fell free to move it. Well tonight i got all my wires ran through my car for the new sub. We got everything ran, amp hooked up, sub hooked up, and it all worked perfect. The sub sounded fine. I went out for a little drive with a couple buddies, and we had the music up at a decent volume just to here how loud the bass could get. When we got back to my house we sat and listen to it for a little bit longer doing the same thing. Car was running the whole time. I went to get into the car to change to a different song and i noticed that my check gauges light was on, and that the temperature…

I'm all for measuring. The ear isn't quite cutting. There are many alternatives, believe me, I've used, tried and experimented with. Some of them are free, with save limitations. All of them are complicated with all sorts of calibration requirements and so-forth. Not to mention the mics and external sound cards add up quickly. I'd like something simple and fast. I dig the term-lab but the cost to play is serious. I came across this alternative . It looks promising. I did a quick search here and saw it's been mentioned a couple of times here and there with no real follow up. I'd like to hear the community's thoughts on something like this. If some one has one, please sha…

I have gotten a copy of Disc 4 from a set that was sold on SD. It has polarity tracks, left and right channel test track, test tunes and a whole bunch more. A good test CD if anyone is looking. I will make copies at 7$ and mail the USPS, hopefully shipping them like Blockbuster does won't break them. Anyone interested?

I want to set up my new, (refurbished actually but it's new to me) Sundown SAZ-1000D right, so I need some legit test tones. First question: What tones do I need? I know I'm looking for a 50Hz tone to set the gain, but is that a "50Hz sine wave" or "50Hz mono-tone"? I've seen both, so I'm confused. Square waves? Sine waves? I have a very loose grasp on these things, but I think that a square wave=clipping and a sine wave shows the maximum gain setting before clipping... I'm so confused... What other tones do I need, if any? Second question: On that pinned thread on how to set your gains under amp/head units main section, it gives two links for tones to download, a…

Was thinking of wiring up the big 3 in my 04 grand prix. Don't have a high output alt, should the hookup only be done if the alt is aftermarket quality? What other determinations should sway me to do or not do this wiring?

I did 2 of the big three on my car, the alt. to battery wire and the battery to body ground, both with 4ga wire. I didn't replace the battery to engine ground because the stock wire looks 4ga already. It seems now like there's either no effect or even worse voltage drop and dimming than before. Any input on what may be wrong. Do I need to shorten the wires more there is a few inches of slack, or maybe replace the stock 4ga wire any I did the right wires right?

I wrote this paper a few years back for a class i had to take in college in order to apply for my masters degree, its been published on a few different websites over the years There are four basic types of power supplies used: Unregulated Linear Regulated Linear Ferroresonant Switch Mode The differences between the four types include constant voltage output, cost efficiency, size, weight, and ripple. I willl explain each type of supply, describe the principle of operation, and the advantages and disadvantages of each. 1. My main concern is the front stage and how well the mid/tweet combo ive picked out will mesh together. I will be purchasing and installing in stages so that is how I will list my ideas. So lets start where I am going to start in the build process....
