when i think about the next setup i want, I just dont know what i want because i listen to a lot of double bass and rap. Is there a type of enclosure that has acoustically accurate response appropriate for rock but also has the ability to get low? low meaning like 30 hertz ish. Haven't heard many ported setups other than my own on rock, and they always sound like shit compared to a sealed box. But I don't actually know if its because of my box, or because its an spl sub, etc. anyone have any advice? EDIT: I'm talking about subs just incase anybody didnt realize this

I think I'm hearing tinsel slap on my 15" Dayton Titanic, but I'm not sure. Does it sound like something is scratching on the inside of the cone? If I apply pressure to the cone, it stops making this scratching noise. Thanks! -Trevor

I read somewhere about firing the sub forward and sealing off the trunk. what is this and what are the advantages? just looking for some ideas of how to squeeze every bit I can from this build. thanks in advance.

Hi everyone! since my bax is built, it looks kinda naked. I don't want to do the standard carpeting and was thinking about trying something different. I thought about using a roll-on bed liner. Does anyone have experience with this stuff? Any pros or cons? Thanks

So I moved into my dorms for college today, I figured I should check out the town and look for any audio shops. I found one that used to carry RE products, but now mainly KIcker and Memphis it looks like. Anyway, I looked around the shop and found an RE 12 RE series, and a Coustic 321qe. I managed to get both of them for 230, Both BNIB. Anybody, think I got ripped off or was this a great find? Also, the gain knob of the front channel seems to be stuck, any ways to fix this? As you have probably heard, some people say that too little power can blow speakers. Well... How can I say this... BS!!!! Too little power will only cause the maximum output level to be low. Abuse and the defective 'wing nut' (an idiot) connected to the volume control blow speakers with low powered amplifiers. If driving a speaker with low power would cause them to fail, speakers would fail every time you lower the volume on the head unit. I will try to explain what happens when speakers are driven with clipped signals but remember... you get what you pay for. Note: This page deals mainly with speaker damage that involves thermal damage of the voice coil. Speakers can…

I'm looking for a tool that will allow me to cut the holes for the speaker, the terminal on the side and also some sanding to smooth the edges. If someone could point me in the direction of some affordable drill attachments and sanders to finish this job, that would be awesome! Thanks, Mo
