If god permits, next year i'll be in pharmacy school living with and leeching off my aunt/uncle. I hope to put a HT setup in and will use the subs i already have (for a start). My question is which should i use. I have the two 15" atlases and the 1 15" avalanche. I'm not sure how much different HT is from car audio, so i'll put my speculations and you all can feel free to correct me. two atlases will have more than enough output i'm sure. But won't get as low as the Avalanche. The avalanche will get low, but not as much output. Also I imagine an amp for the atlases would be easier to come by. (300W @ 4ohm vs 800W @ 4ohm) So my question is for HT is lows needed mo…

Basically im not a Co Ax expert. I need one with clean highs, low end extension i dont really care abotu and try to keep it around $75 if yo ucan. i THINK i need 6x8's. as efficent as possible. They are for my GF's moms explorer, doing Co Ax's and a little ported 10. i want drop ins so i have as little fabrication as possible.

I did some research and here's what i'm thinking of putting in my grand prix. Headunit - Pioneer DEH-P7700MP 6x9's - Pioneer 5-way TS-A6991R 460w (80rms) or TS-D901P 350w rev series (60rms) 6 1/2's - Pioneer TS-D161R 260w (60rms) Subs - 2x P312D4 1000w (500w rms) was thinking T2's but that's overkill Amp for my high's - P4004 100w x4 (gets more but don't need it) Amp for my subs - P8002 (should net me 500w rms to each sub) Anything you'd change? Reasoning? Box suggestions? Edit: upon further research a P2002 should net me near 60w per speaker instead of using a 4 channel P4004

OK, well some people have asked me about Tang Band 6.5 subwoofers, model # W6-1139SG. These are very potent little 6.5s and easily comparable to the JL 6W0. I actually thought in the install it was in was better than the JL 6W0 i owned. So how many would be interested in a group buy? Minimum TOTAL order of drivers would be 10 drivers, but the even cheaper price woul dbe for a total of 100 drivers, the exact price(s) has not been determined as i need to figure in shipping and paypal fees. These can be used in either HT or car applications with good results. Also i believe there is a 5.25 version coming out 1/6/06. This could also be added into the group buy.

Hi, iv'e seen something very strange for the first time. Iv'e installed by sound from old car to new. A 2000w sub on a 2500w amp. 1 x hi to low convertor and speakers still run of factory radio. Amp mounted on rear seat. When the volume is all the way up and the trunk is open every thing seems fine. But when the trunk is closed and the volume turned softer until 0, the sub keeps on pounding, very loudly. But if the 1500w amp is tested, everything is normal. Could this be because of the hi to low convertor or because the speakers are still running on factory radio?

I am wanting to 'build' a center channel for my h/a system. I have a pair of CDT CL-5's 4ohm to use. I am thinking, wiring them to 8ohm and build a small cabinet for them. My question is on the crossover. Is there a xover kit, or a decent xover out there to buy, that I can mount inside the small cabinet, that can handle the 110w my Pioneer VSX puts out? Dont really know what my budget would be, but I surely dont wanna spend too much, or I'd just buy a speaker on ebay or something. I'm not sure what I'm doing or not doing but this is my problem: I'm running a single Memphis MClass 12" sub in a 1.2cf sealed box that's powered by a USAcoustics2100 (300x1@4ohms/12.9v)in a '93 Altima sedan. My HU is a Pioneer 5500mp w/2v preouts, 2 cheapo (soon to be replaced) Jensen 5x7s in the front doors which are amped by a Hifonics Falcon (90x2 @4ohms). When driving around, w/the gains down on the front speaker amp, my average listening volume is around 20-30 (20 if my wife is with me) out of 62 (car's quiet inside and volume at 30 is plenty sufficient from front speakers). Any louder and the midrange and highs start screaming at me but toning down the mids/high…

I'm always so lucky. once I got a jbl 15wgti,a $600 sub, at a pawn shop for $70. they had it in a crappy box and didnt know what they had. Then a couple months ago I bought a soundstream tarantula tr880/2 for $300 in the box. now I have a soundstream splx 12. I've been to 3 comps and I never see ss in the lanes. But every comp I've been to was a local comp, maybe 15-20 car competeing. Has any one seen anything impressive come from ss. Well, today I was driving down the road with the stereo playing at my typical volume when all of a sudden all the lights on my dash (digital readouts) shut off for a split second, then come back on. At the exact same time this happens, my stereo drops in volume by a good 10-15db and gets extremely distorted. It basically sounded like my subs cut off, mids stopped playing and tweets got extremely distorted and dropped in volume. This only lasted 1 second at most, but immediately after it happened my car started having major voltage drop when the bass hit (mind you, I've never even had my lights dim with this setup). I'm looking for something for my rears in my apartment. I want something that curves up over my couch to shoot down. I don't want to mount anything to the walls because then I have nasty wires. Remember the Best Buy Bose demo with those curved ones in the rear? Something like that would be schweet. PE doesn't have anything like that and ebay is being coy.

I have a Eclipse CD-8053 which I bought for the SQ level it has. I LOVE it and do not want to give it up. Any idea if there is a way to get Sirius Radio to play through the deck? I live in an area North of Dayton OH. All the Radio Stations point there sat's South towards Cinci... Therefore my reception just sucks. I listen to the Radio when I am in Dayton, but listen to CD's when home, because my SQ system really brings out the Hiss's and Pops! Any help for me??
