General Audio

So i really am stumped, i dont know how to start my install. I am putting a 15" Fi BTL in my 06 4Runner. For an amp im deciding between an audioque 2200D or an Sundown 1500D, which would be more suited for my car, its battery is 12.8v and the alt puts out a wopping 75. I assume il need to prob get better electrical, i will do the big 3 in 0ga but i dont know if itll help. So basicly i dont know where to start, should i buy subs first or amp or both, Or even wire, i assume i need 0ga any other kinds? Kinda in a dellema ATM. So my 2 front speakers blew the other day (jbl got 628's 2-ways) so I put the factory ones back in until I figure out what to do. Thing is I got em from best buy and they no longer carry any car audio (in Canada anyways) so they sent me to future shop for a replacement (I bought a warranty so I get a free swap). Annddd future shop doesn't carry those speakers butt they can swap them for something else. So I'm not really sure what to do. Im kinda on the fence on switching to components (leaning more to the I don't wanna side) and am going to buy a 4 channel amp soon. well it looks like it'll be awhile before i get a 12 for the grand am, some issues came up and i won't have money for awhile. so untill then i decided to make a box for the atlas to get the most out of it. right now its in a 2.5cf sealed box with 1 pound of pollyfill, it gets decently loud and low but i need more. heres my dilema though after i get a new sub im gonna make the atlas an HT sub so i need an enclosure that will play low well. so i was thinking either going with a 4cf "regular" ported box tuned to 30hz or have someone design me a t-line. my only worry is how will a t-line work in a trunk car and how much space would i have to give. max i would be able to fit …

I am wanting to redo my 97 malibu with a wall off......Any ideas of what subs how many? I am in love with 18's and kinda am thinking of going that route. my opinion is 2 18's just so I am not having them fight for air in the cab..... Ok, I managed to work in an extra $500 into my stereo budget (mostly working OT) and I'm not sure what I should do with it to get the most out of my system. I know I need to do the big 3 and sound dampining material probley needs to be done(my loud exhaust sometimes tries to drown out the music), but what else? Heres my system so far. So I ordered 25 sqft and I have about 10sqft left.. I did some of the trunk floor, the trunk lid, the top of my back deck and the bottom of the back deck(that's where the rattling/buzzing was coming from.) It sounds pooploads better but where would be a good place to put the rest? I'm thinking doors since I'm putting a comp set in?

My 15" ssd and my box weigh a ton and its bringing my rear end down a lot.. I am thinking of downgrading to a lighter setup.. like a cvr 12 for example in a 1.5cuft sealed box, but I am keeping the kicker 750 ill just keep the gain down. Would it be terrible? I'm not a bass addict I just need some kind of low end so I don't go crazy.

I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone's FIRST system was or what you installed back in the day. For some of you that may not be that long ago. Here is one of mine. Got 2 MB Quart 12's in my Jimmy right now. 300w rms power handling. I'm running a SAZ-1500 on them. Any guesses as to what it will do? It's tuned for music not burping so it's not gonna do anything crazy. I was just have some fun seeing what I could get some cheap subs to do.

I have the MOJOs right now ran by a Hifonics Brutus 2100.d. Now i know thats not enough for them but in general with a custom box and either same amp or a saz-1500, could i get a little louder with the sundown SA-12s since ill actually be putting enough power to them? Also this would be in a 2000 ford explorer, so if anyone has witnessed a similar setup with 2 sa-12s in a explorer it would be great if you give feedback. thanks

These are what I am currently debating to put in a Dodge Charger SRT. It will be made into a show car, so the way it sounds is very important. but it is not meant mearly for competitions. All of them will be set up nicely with plexiglass and such, much like what can be seen magazines like Performance Sound and Auto.

I am getting ready to sell a cell phone I am not using. Once it is sold I will have $260 to spend on something for car audio. I have three choices on how to spend the $260 and wanted some opinions from everyone else as to what you would do or what would be more beneficial. Option 1- Two rolls of raamaat. Spend an entire weekend deadning my car, I might have a day off by the time it gets here. This is going in a show car. Right now I am leaning towards sealed cause they can be made to look so much nicer and still sound good. It needs to get really loud, but will probably never see a car audio competition. If this poll doesnt work, i give up.

What is a good team name for a combination of Sundown Audio and FI Audio? Like i want both names to make a combination name. We were thinking like FI-Down lol soundsv retarded when i typed it though or something like Team Flex. Or Team Updown. Lol just let me know what you guys are thinking. I have a paper to write for an Economy class (Pure Compitition, Pure Monopoly, Monpolistic Compitition and Oligopoly). Basically need an article that supply and demand and shows what happens to profit and make graphs, and the teacher said to choose a topic I like. So, it would be awesome if there's some article showing JL, SI, Kicker or whatever showing more profit because of an introduction of a new sub, or anything audio related.
