I've got a used SSA DCON 10" and alpine mrp-m350 amp. The amp is hooked up to a line out conerter tapped into my rear speakers with the amp recieving power. The sub is wired in parallel and is a dvc 4ohm sub so the amp's output is going to be 2ohms. I've got both sub terminals, negative to negative and positive to positive. The wire connecting the box is connected to ONE terminal...that is correct right? I've checked all the wires again and again yet can't get the sub to do anything. I changed grounds to no avail. I bought a used sub off a member on caraudio.com (lil98cabrio) and am starting to think it's blown, but don't have another sub to test. Is there a way to test…

Just finished an install today on a friends car (1994 Toyota Corolla) It consists of the following: Alpine CDA 9884 2 10" Fi SSD (brand new, no options) in a 1.35 cubic foot sealed enclosure BIG 3 (4 AWG) Stock batt up front, Motomaster Elimintaor in the rear 4 AWG wiring throughout Memphis 16-MC1500D @ 2 ohms For some reason, after no more than 10 minutes of test tones (from 25hz to 40hz) at around 75% volume the amp goes in and out of protect mode. All we were trying to do was loosen the woofers up a bit. Car was started, and gains weren't even at full potential. i've been hearing that stereo>mono>surround. why is that. i've been wanting to do something cool for the house but i don't know what to do. i used to have a dvd player w/ surround built in. $100 walmart special. well it just crapped out. so i was wondering what a good "stereo" setup would consist of that would be better than surround. i'm kinda cheap and i like to do stuff myself so it'll be DIY. i already know i need a nice sub and amp for the sub. but what would the front be? 4's, 2's, 6.5's??? i hope you get what i'm saying.....

Ok so I 2 FI Q 15s powered by a DD M3a at 2 ohms. I have 1 run of 4 gauge, and stock electrical. The box is 8 cubes at 33hz and is walled in my car but not completely sealed off yet. I only had 20 mins with the TL so I only tested 2 songs and I got a 148.2 at the dash sealed with Lil Jon Throw it up. I just ordered new battery terminals today and My buddy is sending me 11ft of 0 gauge so I can do the big 3. Then I will sound deaden my 2 front doors and whatever I have left over I will sound deaden the floor of the car. After that I will seal off my trunk from the cabin (which is behind the box) but I wont have all the trim panels to go around the box to make it even more…

Anyone had experiences with this brand? Their amps? True power? Subs? Durability? Boxes? Good as or worse than prefab?

hey guys i turned on my sub today and got a new weird sound ive never heard before. everything has been fine the last few months, until today. it sounds like a lower pitched rattle of some sort. i listened and it seemed to be coming out of the port. i could smell just a hint of glue, and the cone was warm. anyone got any ideas? if you need any more info just let me know, ill do my best to get it. thanks.

I just picked up a Furi HQ 2200 in good working order spent $150. I cant find any info on these. Anyone know what one of these is worth and if there is a spec sheet somewere. Any help would be nice.

ok so i drive a 76' caprice with 2 treo 15's and my trunk lid is 2 seperate layers ....over the years the two layers dont stick together anymore which causes it to rattle ,sometimes louder than the bass and was just wondering if anyone could give me tips to fix this problem without weighing the lid down where it wont stay open on its own. my first thought was the canned foam stuff that expands but thats alot to fill also my cousin works for a glass company and he gaqve me a cpl rolls of that gooey black shit that seals windshields i just cant it very far into the lid. anyone got better ideas?

I drive a nissan maxima, and I need a system that will be the BEST I CAN GET for my car. I'm not really crazy for competition, I just want to be be heard from far away when i drive and make sure everyone in the block heres me when i stop at a traffic light/stop sign lol. I have a 12" FI BTL with the UfO motor that needs to be reconed. Who makes the best recone kit for it, I currently only know of FI and PSI recone kits but I'm not sure what one is better. Who makes the best recone kit for it? If another company makes one that would allow me to have 3000w rms that would be perfect. Please let me know what my options are and what you recommend.

Soo... im trying to determine the next setup. I know i am doing ZCONs. And I will be using saz-3ks. Now what I need to figure out is if I can somehow fit 4 18" zcons on 4 saz-3ks. I am thinking of a wall behind the back seats... I dont(wont) want to remove my back seat. Now im not sure exactly how much room I have back ... So I will have ro measure it out later. i bought a kicker zx1000.1 about 3 yrs ago then go into some financial problems.. got them under control and am starting to piece a system together for my 02 xtreme blazer.. so far i have the zx1000.1 and yesterday i bought 2 basically new IDQ15v2 subs for $200.. also have 125sqft of raamaat.. plan o getting some ID ctx65cs and an amp to give them 150-200w/dr.. how do u think this set up will sound for rock/metal?

Have a Pioneer 4100ub and associated Ipod adapter. I have tried to plug in a brand new Iphone and a first generation Ipod and neither "worked". Tried both the included Ipod to USB cable and one that was brought with. Both switched the h/u automatically from AUX to USB/Ipod but no sound came out of the stereo. Radio/CD/and front AUX are all 100% functional. Of course all I did was connect them and have the owner of them start playing music. I don't own an Ipod and won't, but considering my boat already has the unit and will at least for the rest of the year I'd like to be able to use others. Is there some trick to using it? So basically I let a friend borrow my car and while he was using it he messed up the trunk latch and when he couldn't fix it he tied an extension cord around my subwoofer and box and held the trunk down with it. When he drove it back to me he played the music all the way up and when I got it back my subwoofer wouldn't play. I figured it was the woofer being held back while trying to play but then I tried another sub on it and it still wouldn't play so I tried another sub and again it didn't play. What could it be causing my issues. What could I do to diagnose my issue. The light on the amp goes on and it looks like everything is working. any help would be awesome. Thanks.
