Why's this shit so expensive? I mean the prices are crazy, are they made of pure gold? Anybody heard these? Focal Website

I'm looking for a new vehicle. Something like an suv or truck. I've been looking at Jeep Cherokee, Dodge Durango,and the Land Rover Discovery, Early 2000 models. I'm really leaning toward to Land rover as they are almost all leather with sunroofs. I was just wondering how good these cars are as far as Stock Quietness, Window seals, ability to add speakers (my next system will be a 3 way active so fitting that in there will be key.) Also if anyone knows any similar vehicles they have liked gimme a shout and I'll take a look.

Well, after having way to many options to choose from I finally just went out and bought a receiver for my home audio setup. Pics here! I like it so far, spent about 30 minutes with it so I haven't done to much. Did the auto EQ (cause it comes with a mic) and it sounds pretty good. It's got T/A, and abunch of stuff that I don't think I"ll use but it's nice to have. BTW those are klipsch hersey's if you are wondering . Enjoy. -chev

ok this started a month ago, my right hand sub blew, i chocked it up to a year of abuse and so forth, so i reconed it, dropped it in, and blew it in seconds,.... i thought maybe i miss shimmed it. well i barrowed a pair of BTLS from a good friend, and same mother fucking thing, every time on the right hand side sub. i checked all my speaker wires, and termials i check how i had it seriesed, i did find what seemed to be an issue of 1 RCA seemed to cut off when i jiggled it, but even if its shorting out, its feeding a mono block amp.... so it would short BOTH subs.. not just the right hand. im really at my end and im not sure what else it could be.... i cant con…

Hello everyone... i have been guided to this place by Bass Outlaw Am new to the Car audio world..and i would like to learn more.. as a start am driving a 2005 corolla xli , the stock Head Unit got casset and a CD player.. hooked with 4 speakers (stock) i would like to increase the Clarity of the Sound, and Also get some Moderate Bass... My budget is only $130.. i would like to know what to get with this amount of money.. and a general idea about how to run the setup.. thanks in Advance

I am having a fucktard moment, and have a basic ass question. I have, on each channel, two 6 ohm speakers in series for 12 ohms, and then paralleled to a 2 ohm coil. What is the final impedance? I googled several calcs, and none had options for multiple impedances, save for one, but that one gave some answers that looked completely wrong, as in, the speakers with lower impedances receiving less power.... I'm just double checking that this temporary setup isn't wired to a reckless load, my amp doesn't like going below 4, and the last calc I tried gave me 1.7ohm final. It doesn't heat up, and doesn't cut out....But I'm not trying to learn the hard way.

Someone told me he doesnt trust setting the gain by a multimeter so he goes by um i believe the sub burning up then lowers it to a stable point Now that doesnt sound safe... how did you do it?

I cannot find this info anywhere but i was at a seminar for a big show coming every year in Louisville, KY next month. The dealer there said that they would have still been a current Kinetik battery dealer but they had to get rid of their inventory because there are rumors goin around saying that Kinetik is about to close for good... Now, i have never seen this posted anywhere but a dealer would have first hand knowledge of such action so i dont know really what to believe. It doesn't hurt me any but for those who like the company, might be something to look into.

hey all, i'm not sure if this is in the right forum or not so if it's not please move it. i am looking into buy new subs and changing enclosures. i know there are some on this site who bulid their own enclosures. i don't want anything custom and crazy just something that will do the job and give me good sound quality. are there any how to's on making your own enclosure and also how to tune them? i've heard that tuning the enclosure is important but i don't know anything about this. i've seen them done on a tv show called unique whips and the guy finishes them in about 30 minutes. is it really this simple? any help would be very helpful. I met a guy at a competition a few days ago that had some sound deadening tape and I was wondering where i could get some. it wasn't like dynatape that's just the aluminum tape but it actually sound deadening properties. I figured it be nice for a few places in my durango where my sound deadener is too think. Any idea where I might be able to find a product like this? I did a google search and all the ones I have found appear to just be aluminum tape. Thanks guys!

I have a 97' s10 single cab in which i hope to install some subwoofers. I hope to fit the Fi car audios btl or bl series 10" woofers. Any help will be nice as i have no idea how to do so also what amps are best to use?

Got bored yesterday and decided to do somethin constructive. decided to make something so that i could use 1/0 guage on my AQ 1200, the power and ground inputs are only 4 guage

So i just got my ascendant audio havocs. I went with 2 12 inch dvvc at 2 ohms each. I thought i would be able to run a amp that makes power at 2 ohms but i dont think i can im lost on what to look for. Im not really looking for what specific brand (although that would be nice) i just dont want it to turn into a argument of whose better, but more of what things in an amp i should be looking for to properly run this amp. Such as 1 ohm stable, 2 ohm stable, etc. because im lost. Im running a alpine cda-117 headunit if that matters.

I'm going to mount my amp vertically on the side of my enclosure, anyone have any tips or suggestions for reducing vibration? I've read where people mounted them straight on the box then ruined the amp after heavy playing... So should I mount the amp to some mdf with rubber grommets then have that mount to the side of the enclosure? Any help would be appreciated

So JL is garbage but NVX is nice? This one sentence has told me all I need to know. No offense but NVX is cheap Taiwan stuff that's not gonna sound very good and sure isn't gonna hold up well guranteed. I do like the other brands SSA caries I own crescendo and sundown myself so I know there damn fine products. And I have no problem with cheap affordable products for beginners or someone on a budget but I can see now how biased M5 is if he thinks JL is junk and a cheap Taiwan brand is nice.

I am not at all satisfied with my current mids and highs, they are just loud enough to be heard over the BTL, but they sound horribly stressed and weak in comparison. I wanted to put a pair of 8's in my front doors, and some new tweeters up on the pillar or the dash; before I look into getting pods made for my doors, has anyone had any luck fitting 8's in the doors of a Blazer/Bravada/Jimmy ? i'd like to keep it simple, at least til it's warmer out.
