Ok I have a 2013 ford fusion with ford mytouch. Touchscreen is connected to all the electronics in the car so running an aftermarket HU is out of the question because it will affect everything in the car. I have a 15" sp4 and im planning to run it on a sundown 3500. My question is if i use a line driver (audio control, LOC, etc) to connect my amp to my Factory HU will I lose output or my lows by doing this compared to running an aftermarket HU? I just don't want to run an amp and sub if i can't get its full potiential. Thanks!

Just wondering what size to go with? When I ordered from Parts Express, the guy on the phone recommended 1/4" x 20, but turns out these dont fit the opening in my IDQ sub. What size does everyone else use?

  3. I have a 15" SSA Xcon I am looking for a box for. I don't have the time or resources to build a box myself. I was wondering if anyone here can recommend a pre made box for this sub, or direct me to someone who can build one for me. Thank you for your time.

Spoke with Nick @ IA this morning. Customer service there never ceases to amaze. Anyway, got wind of some pro audio woofers coming. I can't say when, but I'm pretty stoked. Also a new Flatlyne coming. I'm glad they're branching out and expanding as a company. Congratulations IA! Now send me 2 of the new DR 12's, and 2 of the Pro Woofers. LOL

Any recommendations for a MDF paint primer? I would prefer the typical gray color of primers. I've heard that you need a special primer, but I wasn't sure. I did a search but most places said use primer as a general term and didn't specify a certain kind of primer or anything. I need know to smooth out and prime my old DCON boxes and also some SSA logo cutouts. Thanks

(literally a browser window) So I was looking at amps as I always do... I just love fcking looking at them.... pricing out what I like and then starting all over again... Recently went to woofersetc and found this company 'Wet Sounds' The pricing is around the same ball park of ZED Audio... These are "marine" products apparently but they look pretty nice. Anyone ever heard of them before? They pretty much make everything.. A $700 subwoofer is available too... GEEZ!!!

I just ordered (2) FI SSD and I'm wondering how big I should go on the box. I want to get the most I can out of the subs. They will be powered by my sundown SAZ 2500d. The biggest dimensions I would like to go are: 44w x 36d x 25h. The 36d gives me about 7 inches from the hatch door. The FI website calls for 3-4 cubes a piece at 33 hz. How big do you think I should go? What tuning frequency? Any help is appreciated.

  13. On youtube there are videos of people running an insane amount of subs in their vehicles for spl applications. Like 15 15's or 6 18's and other crazy numbers of subs. How do they have enough space?? An FI BL 15 for example is recommended to need 3-5 cubic feet of space plus port area. If you run 15 of them together thats 45-75 cubic feet of space plus port area... Do SUV's and vans really have that much space?? Or does the fact that there are so many cones moving so much air make them work the way they do without having the recomended amount of space?? Im just curious if anybody knows how so many subs can be run together and do what they do in the space they are put in.

  14. I haven't installed anything in a year, but my buddy needs an experienced mind. He's got an eighth gen civic si, and would like to replace the stock, 8" sub. He's up for complete removal, since he knows he won't get a true subwoofer-type sound without an enclosure or sealing the trunk. Now, it needs to be extremely stealth (carpeted box, all black, tucked in the corner, no visible wires anywhere). He's dead-set on a type-r and an alpine 500W amp to match. I'll set him up with some black knu wiring, too. Two options I've thought of for the box: -Sealed, cut to the shape of the rear, side of the trunk, carpeted, with a grille. -bandpass, carpeted, ported up and to…

So I want to get started on the wall for the dcons, but I realized I probably won't be able to replace panels in the rear with the wall in. So there is my quandary. My right rear quarter panel is rusted all the way through, it's painted over as a temporary cover up but it's still obvious. Should I postpone the wall for months and months for me to replace all the panels that need to be replaced? Or any other ideas? I've also thought about finding another bronco with a good body and doing the modifications I want to make it my style, but this truck as a lot of sentimental value so that would be hard for me.

About a month ago I had a local shop wire my car and install a set of components/head unit in my 2011 Malibu. Basically ran all wires to the back for me to put my amps and sub stage in. I installed a fosgate power 400.4 for my forgate t2 components using the passive xo. Couple different sub setups but always the same sundown saz1500. Extra kinetik hc2000 in the back. As of yesterday I'm starting to hear crackling coming from the tweets at about mid volume. Kinda strange because this morning I got in there after sitting all night and I was able to lay into it a little with no problems.. For about 2 minutes then the crackling/fuzz starts coming from the tweets again. Figure…

I would like to apologize for my previous post here which has not been marked as spam: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/59379-xplicit-audio-new-company/#entry997621 It wasn't my intention to piss anyone off which seems to be the case. I didn't intend on trying to compete with SSA. I didn't even think of that option. So I apologize.

I'm assuming more Amp hours is better. After looking at this stuff I'm actually thinking It might come with a battery? may not be size related. I need some direction. 61 AMP HOUR $40.46 95 AMP HOUR $38.76 72 AMP HOUR $38.76

i was at work last month and what did I find in a junk drawer? A brand new digital converter box. I asked my boss what was the story with it. He told me that he and a coworker had bought it cheap in 2009 to use with a tv in the pharmacy and that I could have it. Win. I'm putting the box in my center console and buy an antenna to mount either on the back deck or near the front glass by the front defroster. anybody used one of theses in a car or RV while moving? I hear reception is crystal when parked and choppy like satellite during a storm while in motion, Thoughts?
