Hey guys, i decided to upgrade from my JL 12w0. Decided to go with two sundown sa12's. need some help because im still kinda new to this. 1. the subs are dual 2 ohm. so if i buy an amp, would i wire it to 2 ohm or 1 ohm? 2. Sundown audio recommends 1.75 - 2 cubic feet. to get more out of my subs would i want a smaller box? larger box? or the recommended size? 3. i plan on getting a 1500 watt amplifier so i can send 750 rms per sub, sa12's are highly underrated in rms i heard. i am on a budget so i would like a amplifier thats relatively cheap without sacrificing alot quality. feel free to add anything, im open to all suggestions, but im solid on the subs. just thought i'd…

So I recently ordered one 15 in icon. my question is what box should I get for it...such as thickness ..size..Hz...ect

Well, as if two SP4 18's isnt big enough, lol After doing measurements I have enough room for 3, so I just ordered another one. So now I have time to build a new enclosure and not have any down time which is cool. I ordered another Dual 1ohm. So now becomes the question of amp and ohm load choice. After looking at my wiring options I think it will work perfect. For at least a couple months I need to run all three off this one Crescendo BC5500. Which I actually think will be ok for now and get loud. I have two different brands of speaker wire that are turning green inside the jacket. It is not turning green at the ends just in certain areas of the covered wire. Ive spent two hours googling and just seen multiple forums and websites where it turned into an argument whether the discoloration was due to oxidation or the chemical reaction between cheap insulation and the copper wire. Please don't turn this into a pissing contest. Either you know or don't know, don't need guesses. What causes the discoloration and will it affect the signal if used? Looking to start buying the pieces for my next build and im fairly sure im going to be using a bc2000 to power it but as far as drivers im pretty split between a few options. I want to be able to get really loud at around the 30-33hz area and really loud period but no a complete loss of musical ability. Going to be a daily driver build. Mainly been looking at either 2 15" ssa icons, dc level 4s, fi bl's or 4 sa-12s. Im leaning toward the sa-12s right now. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm looking to put a single btl 15 in my trunk. I planned on 2 sa12's but after hearing them im not happy. I want something that hits a lot lower. It's a trunk car and sub will up fire. Going to run my bc2000 to it if it's able to properly fit back there. Dimensions..13" height x 37" width x ~35 depth. Is that enough room to fit a btl 15 n2 in there with the proper port? I prefer a lower tune. 2nd, the btl has a mounting depth of 9.625". Will that put the magnet too close to the bottom of the box? I have experience with a UFO btl 18 in another vehicle so I'm pretty sure this is the route I want to go, but if the space isn't there I'm not going to waste any money on it. T…

alright well i have a zcon 15 in my trunk in 4.5cf tuned around 31,32, ap3000,ho alt. 2 runs of 0 and 2 80ah batts,,, just did 143.2 at 31hz , just trying to see what all i can do to gain dbs without tuning higher cause i really like the lows,, will alot nicer amp help? more batts? what, i know deadening will help, should i just put it on everything thats metal? i did gain over a db with my girl sitting on the trunk so is there a way to make the trunk more sealed or something?

IM doing a backseat box for a 07 dodge charger and just wanted to know the best direction to fire in? My original idea was to have subs inverted firing up and port up and no I don't want to wall it because im plannning on doing some fancy fiberglassing in the back seat. Im also not going to compete this is just a loud daily driver will be 2 18 zcons on a 5k amp. Just want to know optimal firing direction and the trunk will also be sealed off.

Im looking to do a set up for a 2002 honda accord 4 door. Im willing to take in all advice to how i should go about it. Im interested in getting the Fi Audio SP4 but open to suggestions. Thinking about powering it with a crescendo amp possibly. I also want the set up to sound as clean and clear as possible. It will be a daily driver set up with the possibility of some local spl contests. Let me know what you think or what you have done.

Dads got a ford 2009 f250 super duty that has got the disc changer with sync system. He took it to the dealer and when he got it back the cd player was f***ed like they shoved a disc in there and it got stuck. Of course they said they did not do it. So i am going to try to install a new head unit do i have to wire the sync system back in with the expensive harness or is there a way to bypass that If you got any info or ideas on this please let me know i thought around $100 is high for a wiring harness Thanks Kevin

looking to see if there is better box i can build for my sub, i have a 15" zcon in 4.5cf box tuned to 32hz on around 3000 rms in my 2005 sable/taurus,,, sub and port is facing the trunk and cant turn the box around or anything, im thinking there is not enough air getting into the cabin because the box is so big (only like 3 inches on each side and an inch from the top of the trunk),,, probley going to need someone draw something up for me with cut sheet and everything when im going to build it but right now just wanting to see some ideas on what i should do to get as loud and sound as good as it can in my car

So I've decided that I don't like this 38-39hz tune at all. We have 9.5 cubes (after disp) current port is a 12.5 sonotube @14.5" long I can maybe stretch it 17" maybe, but all that extra port will be external. But that's only 36-37hz 12" doesn't help much either... If I can find a 11.5" sonotube I can get to 34hz @17" long 12.5"=122.6sqin of port=12.9sqin per cube 11.5"=103.8sqin of port=10.9sqin per cube Most people's rule of thumb for round to slot port is 3-4" so 12.9sqin per cube =15-16.9sqin per cube 10.9=13-14.9 So what do you ladies think?

Hey guys, I just wanted your opinions on what enclosure would be better in terms of "loudness". That may be defined differently for some of you, but I'm looking for a low boomier type of bass. I'm not sure what setup I have planned for will be loudest though. Here's what I got so far: Setup 1: 1 12" Fi Q in a 2.5 cu ft ported enclosure @ 32 hz, running 900w @ 2 Ohms. OR Setup 2: 2 12" Fi Q in a 2.5 cu ft sealed enclosure, both wired down to run 600w each @ 1 ohm. The reason I don't do both speakers in a ported enclosure is because I don't have 4-5 cubes of space to offer in my car trunk. Gotta put the groceries somewhere, you know? Anyways, I'd love to hear some thoughts …
