Ive been playing with the thought lately as installing an iPad in the dash of my truck. I was looking at an in dash unit but I can get and iPad in for like $500 total installed. I don't want to have a head unit along with the iPad, just the iPad with the adapter that allows for charging with audio/video rca's. Here's some of the questions I was trying to figure out. Has anyone ever attempted this or talked with someone who has? Although not the best I can use processing on the iPad itself. I should be able to connect directly to the amp with the rca's correct? I may be missing some things but it seems like if you tapped the remote in with the ignition and rca's worked tha…

So i read that in can causes fires as to why you must use a fuse but will it do anything else? Such as fry other electrical componets in your car?

So I found a place that's less than an hour away with a meter. So any tips/ tricks? What sweeps/tones should I take? Never been metered before so this will be an exciting experiance for me.

I just recently bought 2 Sundown Audio sa-15 dual 4 ohm coils. I absolutely love them. I put them in a 7^3 foot box tuned at 35 hz and they get stupid loud. I was wondering what type of amp to get for them? I'm currently running an mtx 81001d @ 1 ohm but i feel like they want more power. I was looking at getting an SAZ-1500D V.2 but i'm always open to better amps. Any input would be great. Help??

Just picked up a 99 Tahoe!!!! It has front end damage but can be fixed by yours truly. Was my step moms for 8 yrs then my sisters for 2 yrs and has 170xxx highway miles!! It's 4wd and champagne. My sis said if I gave her 1250$ it's mine! So I snatched that hoe up!! Will hopefully transfer my 18's to it and use my truck as a toy hauler And daily driver!

Yep uncle sam put the big old red white and blue shaft to me this year. So no new build anytime soon. So I'm still new to car audio and dont know all the terms or how everything works. There are two things I'm still not sure about. 1) When you set amp gains, are you actually changing the amount of power coming from the amp? As in, if I have a 1000rms amp, by setting the gains lower can I actually just put out 500rms to the sub? I've heard mixed responses, but that you are always putting out what ever the amp is rated at. Because if this is the case, can't you run like a 2000 watt amp on stock electrical, but then just dial it back to like 800 rms or so? 2) What does "full tilt mean"? Is that just volume all the way up (before clipping I'm guessing) Thanks!

I don't know why I was just thinking about this, but since so many people seem to be so impressed by trunks shaking, wipers bouncing, door panels flapping, and all the resonance and noise that some sound systems produce in the vehicles we drive, I just felt like throwing this out there... Is it just me, or do some vehicles seem to be more willing to do these kind of things than others? Everything has its natural resonance frequency and has the ability to shake, flex, rattle, or anything else it may feel like doing. Just wanted to hear some thoughts...Being that your front stage is what is important, does anyone use rear equalization also? And if so, did you eq from the drivers location faded rear? Or try to adjust everything as "one"

Iv seen multiple bad things said about them.. and a few good things. But have said that, i found a used 200a Iraggi alt on here for sale at a very good price and I was just wondering if anyone has some information I could use or something. Im picking up a new 2012 Subaru Impreza Sport Limited hatcback tomorrow or Thursday. Getting it loaded with nav, so I dont want to swap out the HU. Never did any audio stuff with a stock HU, so not sure what I should get. Do I get line out converters, or 3way crossover? I was looking at the Lanzar Vibe X6, for $35. Wondering if its cheap for a reason. Im going to be swapping out the front speakers with Crescendo CCX65s, filling in the rear with Crescendo Pro Audio mids, and want to put my Havoc 12 in the back. I have a MBQuart ONX 4.80 and 1500.1D (plan to get the new Crescendo 1100C4 at some point). Might also run XST2 super tweeters as well if they will fit in the dash…

So I'm competing in MECA this year (been going to the comps the last year but never had my subs in when i went) and I'm building my daughter a power wheels for MECA Kids. shes in the 5 and under class so I can only run a single 8 and no bigger than a 20a fuse to the amp. My screws keep backing out of my box and my sub starts slapping up against my box. Only 1 does it and not the other. What's my solution? I have to tighten them everyday! They are 2 18 hdc3's
