Hey guys, I have a Rockford Fosgate R500X1D and a Kicker 300 4 Channel amplifiers that i am wanting to get tuned correctly because my first time around i blew 2 of 4 door speakers and subwoofer the first 3 days of use and now with my second try i have them tuned not to max but to a point where i know they are not clipping. My question is where can i get a good quality oscilloscope or some distortion detector for $100 or less so i can have these running at their max. I would like to buy the smddd1 but im already 900 deep in this system and cant put any more into it so im trying to find cheaper options. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What’s everyone’s experiences? Had numerous small systems but always in older cars. Seen a few posts online from random people and responses are over the place. Some are like its voids all electrical, or just the audio on the car, or the audio and if the dealer says it affected another circuit or system. Just wanting experienced audio enthusiast opinions/ experiences. It’s a 2017 Camry. Wanting to either transfer my existing stuff in( 2 JL12wo in a slot ported wedge box, jl 500.1 and the big3) or upgrade to something bigger. Pair of sa12’s on a 1500.1. Thanks for any info, it’s my first car with a warranty, lol

  4. Just bought my first classic car. 1966 Cadillac DeVille drop top. Just had a JL Audio system installed. 1 12" W7 in thr massive trunk. She rattles like crazy. What is the best sound deadener for the money that wont damage my vehicle and that can be removed sometime down the road? This car is original and worth money so I dont want something that will ruin the vehicle paint. Thanks

  6. Hey I’m thinking bout buying 300’ of sky high 14 gauge speaker wire. Will it be good enough to use as wiring for my speakers. Up to 300 watts would be going through it. I just rather get a bunch of wires so I don’t need to keep buying if I ever run out from batches. I’ve had 12 gauge but for some speakers with push terminals it’s too big. The 14 fits fine so I’m thinking it’ll be fine. Could I get some feed back

i need some guidance here. I'm looking at a 2 way 10" mid bass with horn setup, the 10's I'm looking at seem to go up to around the 800-1200hz range so the horn needs to handle around 1k and up. i found some limited information from 07 on how a setup would work and from what i gather i want the horns positioned under the dash and firing parallel to the floor? with some processing i should be able to raise the sound stage up to about dash level? i also read that the width will more than likely be less than the distance between the a pillars if i don't add any other tweeters and that the horns would benefit from a 16khz and up super tweet? ive never done a horn…

  14. After being out of car audio for a couple years now, I got the bug again. I recently bought a 2004 Toyota 4Runner and have factory speakers all the way around. The only upgrade I have done is install an Alpine CDE-W265BT. The drivers door speaker is making noises, and there are some annoying rattles that need to be addressed. I figured while I try to find the annoying rattles and replace the blown speaker, I will do some proper deadening and install a new front stage. This system will be for casual listening. No competitions and I don't care a tone about getting really loud. Sound quality ismy number one priority. So here's what I have and my initial id…

I have a bus we drive for church on Wednesday's and we got a bunch of rowdy kids(saginaw area) so i installed a radio on the bus and we have a CB style mic but its not powered so as you all know the signal it sends isnt strong enough to amplify to make it audible. So my question is do any of you guys know an easy fix for this? Like a mic that is self powered or what not? Any help or direction would be great. 35 rowdy kids imma end up with no voice.

  19. Good evening everybody. I have a few items to install for an Audio System upgrade; but don't know how to go about it. The Items that will be involved are -1 Distribution Block -2 Amps. -1 Capacitor. -1 Equalizer/Crossover -6 Speakers in Total (2 tweeters, 2 Front Door 6.5's, and 2 6x9's) -1 Subwoofer I'm trying to connect 2 amps; 1 for the Subwoofer and the Second for Speakers. My Aftermarket Head Unit has 3 pairs of RCA plug-ins. 1) Subwoofer 2) Front 3) Rear. How Would I connect the 6 speakers (which I'm going to rewire) to the 1st amp? Do I wire the Speakers to the Amp or Straight to the Head unit itself? Also, how would I connect the amp to the Head unit if it…

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I've posted here. I've been driving and enjoying the stereo in my truck for awhile, and now I wanted to make a couple of changes and I was looking for some advice and/or guidance in doing so. The current situation... I have a Ram pickup which currently consists of the following: Stock Uconnect head unit -> JL cleansweep -> front channels Audio Control DQT -> Alpine PDX-F6 CH1&2 150x4 -> ID XS-65 Components (using the XS x-over and tweeter. The 6.5 has been replaced with an Eminence Alpha after blowing the XS6" mid) . Rear channels go from clean sweep to PDX-F6 ch 3&4 -> ID CTX69 6x9's. …

  21. I have the least amount of knowledge when it comes to car audio systems, and that is why I have to ask you the following 4 questions. I would GREATLY appreciate any answers. 1) I just want to replace the speakers with better ones as I don’t want to drill holes in the door panel for tweeters. Does that mean that I have to buy “coaxial” speakers, instead of “component” speakers? 2)Assume that the price for the following 4 brands are the same . What brand would you choose? MB Quart, Polk Audio, Alpine, JBL 3) Whichever brand you just chose from above, can you please recommend your model preference? MB Quart - Discus 2-Way Car Speakers with Mica-Filled Poly Con…

I recently discovered Patrick Chandler and his shop. Has any body here used any of his subs or amps? The subs look to be very nice with beefy motors and Stiff paper cones. I am thinking about 1 18" "TC Sounds" with the "3 HP" motor. He said it wants around 1500 watts RMS. I have a about 1100 watts RMS to give it. Looking for general input on him and his operation. He seems to be a very nice guy, wondering what you guys think.

Current setup: 147db in an 06 eclipse 3x optima yellow tops 2x 1/0 along with a big three stock 110a alt,(soon to be 240a) Sundown zv.4 rev2 15" 1ohm (2000 rms) ts3.5k (5k uncertified) 5 cubicft box with dual 6" aero ports My question is this, I tuned my system with an oscilloscope, the voltage reached the max of my oscilloscope with ought any clipping that I could see, I do not remember the voltage but when multiplied by my clamp meter results I got around 1200 watts that sounded fine so I left it.
