Alright considering pickin up another sundown 3000, and it got me thinking of bigger subs. Anyways, how does subs up port back work in a trunk car? I have 2 15s now, and considering 2 18s, but the subs would have to be facing up for this to work.

So I bought a Tantric HD 12 d2 a week ago and received it yesterday. Today I went to put it in my 2.5 cu enclosure and I am having a problem with the sound/voltage. It doesnt drop ( to maybe low 14s) and something is definitely wrong. I had a problem similar to this last week when I realized my coils on the mayhem were toast. Voltage drop with zv4 was to around 12 volts. The way it is playing seems as if it wired very high. What I did: -Checked coils on sub (read 2.4ohm each) -impedance at the output terminals is 1 ohm (car off) -o-scoped the rca's and output voltage (clean) - free aired the sub and notice no coil rub at all (seems as if not getting full power) and it s…

pretty amp for sure, anywho just saw this guy on a private auction site for under $50 tested working, cosmetically it's almost 100%. I wouldn't use this amp myself, but would It be worth to resell and make a quick buck? only results I really saw for this amp for sale privately was a post on diy selling it for roughly $300, and everyone said post it on european ebay and you could get way more for it... is this amp really that damn nice? i know older diamond audio is nice, but over $300 for a used 4 channel 400watt amp?

ok im in a dilemma, i am trying to figure out which box to use for a d915d2 being powered by a US AMPS ax1000de at 1 ohm. Hey guys, I have a SAZ-2000D with the X12 I just ordered going in my 2.5 cubic foot box @ 32 hz. I ordered the X12 Dual 2 ohm woofer, but now I'm having thoughts that I should've maybe ordered the Zv4. My fear is that 2k is too much for the X12. Some people mentioned that 2k for a Zv4 is low. I have no plans to upgrade in the near future, I'd like to stick with 2k. It's my daily driver so the sub will see 30 min to 1 hour of play at a time. So did I make the right choice? Will the X12 do fine with that amp? As far as I'm aware the only difference between the two is power handling. Thanks, Dylan

I have a zx1500.1 kicker amp 1500 watts at 2 ohm's//. 2 ohm stable,,,, a duralast gold battery. (primary) 0 gauge knu wire. I just put it all in my f-150 . it all worked great with my two type r 12" wired at 4 ohms. but i recently got a 15" Fi BL fully loaded dual 1 ohm. I built a box and wired it up, set the gains and it worked great for about 4 hours. then the amp suddenly shut off. i'de hard reset it and it would work for another 2 minutes and go in to protect again. so i got the duralast gold. cuz it worked great with the amp and 4 type R's at 2 ohms in my galant. no voltage drops. .......... so i put one in my truck and it made no difference. eventually it just didn…

Okay, I've found myself lately to be more keen on the particular sound of paper cone drivers. I am wondering if anyone else feels this way or differently. Is it perhaps just the better driver or application, or does cone material in woofers/midbass/midrange have a noticable affect on the sound? It's clearly evident in a lot of tweeters between metal/soft domes or otherwise, but how do people feel on the woofer side? I'd appreciate any knowledgeable on the subject who could give some insights on which materials may have better sonic characteristics.

I don't know why I was just thinking about this, but since so many people seem to be so impressed by trunks shaking, wipers bouncing, door panels flapping, and all the resonance and noise that some sound systems produce in the vehicles we drive, I just felt like throwing this out there... Is it just me, or do some vehicles seem to be more willing to do these kind of things than others? Everything has its natural resonance frequency and has the ability to shake, flex, rattle, or anything else it may feel like doing. How does one choose the wood he wants to build his box out of? I see pretty much every one using MDF for theirs, but what about other types? Currently I know three types and I am not completely sure about their pros and cons. Particle Board cons - not accousticly dead, breaks easy if bend, crumbles at edges, pros - pretty light and cheap MDF cons - porous, adds significant weight to the box, lots of dust when cut pros - quite strong, easy to work with, small channels can be made so it bend but it still holds it structure Plywood cons - price pros - light and strong - all you want from wood for boxes Am I wrong about the stated properties of these materials? Tried ordering an enclosure off the Fisher Custom site, then bad news comes. Something a long the lines of not being able to ship to my location and then I go to Audible Customs and they also can not ship to Louisiana at the moment. This is a big halt, as things were going so smooth.... while acquiring all the new equipment. I really don't have trust nor faith in the local shops around here, probably just as well off purchasing a prefrab from them but, I want to do things right. So if anyone knows of some legit people who could build me a bow and ship to Louisiana... that would be appreciative.

i was at work last month and what did I find in a junk drawer? A brand new digital converter box. I asked my boss what was the story with it. He told me that he and a coworker had bought it cheap in 2009 to use with a tv in the pharmacy and that I could have it. Win. Being a dealer for DD and working close with them i decided i should post this thread. Lets keep it intellectual of course but i want you feedback on over all DD products and everything. This information will be passed directly to them in an attempt to better their perception and reputation ( not that its bad of course ). Let me know what you guys think. I'm considering getting a box built for 2 10" subs (or at least a box will be made for the subs). I'm wondering if there are any problems with putting in 2 terminal cups / 2 leads. Reason being is I'm running 1k right now. I might want to run 2 amps at 1k a piece. OR, I might just change my mind and run one big amp. If the box is made with 2 leads, then I will never have any issues but if it's made with just the one, I can never use 2 amps. So, are there any issues down the road? In particular, one big amp across two terminal cups? Without the issue of it changing final ohm loads of course (non issue).
