OK, now this is just a give your opinion on this BS. A friend of mine has 4 JL w1v2 12's and a JL 500/1 ported. exact specs on the enclsure i have no idea. He i was talking to him yesterday and he said he drove up to the local audio shop which sapposeably has MECA certified mics. I dont know if this is Term Lab or not. i am assumeing so since that is the organization Alma gates comeats (or compeated) with. anyway, he told me he did a 149.2@ 55Hz. beleiveable but not BSable Today he calls me saying he went up there agian and did a bunch of runs. he averaged at 151.3...still beleiveable depending on the box. but then he goes on to tell me on a bass track song he did a 157.1…

what do you guys think just bought set of Boston Acoustic Mini's for the surrond sound a Boston PV500 10" powered sub, have Xbox, Game cube, HDTV/DVR, DVD, ran by my Sony head unit, can't remember model number, and projected by my Dell projector....

I got a phone call from my buddy today and he wants me to build an enclosure for his step dad's jeep. The woofer is a 12" Sony Xplode that he used to have in his truck. I have NO experience with this woofer. What would you guys, if you have experience with it, recommend for the airspace for a ported enclosure? I'm not sure on the power, I'm assuming like 300w though.

Currently I have 2 Fi Q12s fully loaded built with high quality for sealed enclosures. I will be getting 07+ Silverado crew cab. What would have the most "SQL"/SPL? "SQL" comes before SPL. I have thought about 4 sundown sa-8s. Any other suggestions? Still not sure if I will be able to fit the Q12s in the truck. Spending no more than $1000 on speakers. Will be keeping my Brutus brz2400 to push out 2400 watts at 1 ohm

Ok I just got my order of Knu 0/1 gauge wire in for my Power 1000 install. To make things easier I ordered 0/1 eyelets from Waytekwire.com. When I went to put the 1st eyelet on I could barley get it on the wire! I had seen this in the past with Knu 4 Gauge but this time I had to tap the lug onto the wire with a hammer (Not to crimp it but to get it on the wire it was so tight). I really don't think I will ever have a problem with my crimps seporating from not enough bite! Way to go Knu! If anyone is having second thoughts about ordering from them, order it, you can't go wrong! The wire is awesome!

I installed my kenwood kdc x794 in my 05 yukon with factory bose system so I had to use the metra gmos 04 adapter to keep chimes and factory amp untill I get money go upgrade all components, also I installed the metra aswc and now when the radio is on but turned all the way down I get some alternator whine out of only one speaker and I never had the whine before the gmos04.... I've took it apart twice and re wired and still can't get rid of it.......help please

Can someone recommend a decent program that tells me what Hz bass is contained in song? Preferably freeware I've looked at a few through google searches but they either don't tell me the Hz accurately, say the wrong Hz or dont make sense eg. would there be a noticable difference between 70wx2 passive on my RE 6.5's and 125x4 active thru my 860? i might be getting a visonik 4208. anyone used this amp? is it any good???

Ok hey guys, im new to this forum. Im guessing you guys are type experts on subs if not, any information helps. I have a 07 BMW X5 and I just bought a 15" Soundqubed subwoofer and a x14 brutus hifonics 1500 watt amp I want to wire to 1ohms, and im doing it also to my stock head unit. My battery is in my trunk so I don't have to wire a lot to the front of the car. Also wiring with 4 gauge. I was wondering what would the dimensions be for my box? length, depth width? volume? what could my sub displacement be? and my port displacement? Im thinking also 4.5 cubic net tuned 34-38hz please let me know give me ideas, info, anything thank you so much GS

I'm going to mount my amp vertically on the side of my enclosure, anyone have any tips or suggestions for reducing vibration? I've read where people mounted them straight on the box then ruined the amp after heavy playing... So should I mount the amp to some mdf with rubber grommets then have that mount to the side of the enclosure? Any help would be appreciated

One 15" AA SMD of a Stetsom 7k2e. 4^3 tuned ~31 hz w/ 29 sq in of port in a '09 Yaris Sedan. DC Power 320amp alt, big three, all 1/0 wiring, stock battery. I just metered tonightat a local shop and put up a 144.4 w/ peak at ~ 41 hz. My question is "How much would I benefit from more port area? I plan on going from 29 in to 72.5 in thanks

If I were to use the Flanged ports that PartsExpress sells, since i have never used these type of ports before, is it necessary to brace the port inside the box to prevent vibration of the port? IF it is required(4KW+) what you guys recommend me do using 4" aero ports(ports be 4" from the floor). Subwoofer mounting - What do you think is the most secure method of holding down subs. I was thinking about purchasing this foam tape that partsexpress has to prevent air leakage around subs but wanted to do something different rather than just use drywall screws for a high wattage install. So I reciently purchased a sundown SAZ-2500d v.2 form SSA and am a little stumped on wiring. I will be running a RE Audio xxx 15'' dual 2 ohm at 1 ohm. The amp has two positive and two nagative inputs, can I use both? Want to get the best power out of this as possable.

My alt charges at 14.4 Have a batt bank, and stays above 13v whith hard bass hits. After a while my subs loose "thump" I still have some bass I'll turn the volume down and it comes right back. I have my gain set to 7 at 28 volts well below max output. Brand new T1000-4ad running two P3's.

Guys, Need some help/advice. Here's the story... When I play this specific song my bass cuts-off. There's no more sound coming from my sub. I have 1000's of songs and this title is the ONLY one that cuts it off ALL the time. It's psybient (Chillout) music My amp is an Orion D1200 Sub is an SSA ICON 12" D2 connected in series. I tried in series (4 ohms) and parallel (1 ohm) and it still cuts-off!! My simple question is WHY? I apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge on the matter.
