I have a JL 13W6v2 motor that Ive had laying around now for a while. Am looking to buy a 2.7" voice coil to rebuild it without spending a arm and a leg for it with JL. I can find other soft parts that would work but finding a coil is a bitch. Can anyone help me out here in any way? I dont wanna get rid of it, I think its a decent motor other than the gap size. hey guys i have 18in fi BL dual 1ohm being powed by JBl gto 1200 amp and just wanted to make sure i get a speaker wire that will allow enough flow of power and still fit. any help i'd appreciate it.

Theoretically speaking if you wanted to build a 3 way active set of matching speakers but couldn't find a 4 inch speaker that wasn't coaxial could you just cut the leads running to the tweeter and still use the cone for lower frequencies ?

Just a general question for clarification. I have a single dual 2 ohm subwoofer wired to 1 ohm. If I connect it to 2 1 ohm amps that are strapped, will the sub still see 1 ohm or 2? If it is still 1 ohm, does this mean that the amps will be running at .5 ohms each?

Hey guys, I am about to pull all the seats and carpet out of the ride to rerun everything and dampen areas of the ride... I was looking at second skin and raamat... any pro/cons between these? Also what is the foam they say to put on top of it? Do I just need the damplifier or should I get some of that foam too?

Hi, I recently purchased a pair of supertweets and pro mids both of wich are powerbass. I have been looking for an active crossover tk install them but am not sure what to get. I think they are supposed to be crossed at 5 thousand htz and above. This is my firt set of supertweets I have ever installed so kind if scared i will mess them up.not wanting to spend more than $200 but not limited to that much .Sorry if posted in wrong place.

Just bought a brand new f150 stx with sync looking to put my stereo from my jeep back in the f150 the alpine type r components are probably going in the truck as well as my ppi 4 channel i think im going to sell my kenwood excelon 997 considering how much of a pain it would be to replace the stock and im probably going to sell or trade my dcon 15 and custom ported wedge box for somethkng that will fit under the seats in my extended cab any recommendations would be helpful for loc as well as subs and a box for under the seat that could run off the rear channell of my ppi 800 by 4

So I decided I was going to finish deadening my car tonight. Only part left was the floor. Now in hopes of being a little more efficient than the ole' heat gun, I used an oven I purchased for powder coating. Awesome deal for $30. Anyways, I cut all the pieces to fit, then removed the backing, slapped them face down on the aluminum side and let them sit for 5 minutes each at 200 degrees. Worked out pretty good. Hell of a lot quicker than sitting there fanning the heat gun back and forth. If anyone has this option available to them, I suggest trying it. Don't let them sit for too long though or the adhesive(read asphalt) will start to bubble and overflow onto the ove…

hey all, i'm not sure if this is in the right forum or not so if it's not please move it. i am looking into buy new subs and changing enclosures. i know there are some on this site who bulid their own enclosures. i don't want anything custom and crazy just something that will do the job and give me good sound quality. are there any how to's on making your own enclosure and also how to tune them? i've heard that tuning the enclosure is important but i don't know anything about this. i've seen them done on a tv show called unique whips and the guy finishes them in about 30 minutes. is it really this simple? any help would be very helpful. I'm currently running a fi audio sp4 15 at. 5 ohms with a hifonics brz. 1700 amp. I have a 350 amp alt and a xs power d3400 under the hood and i'm still having problems with my voltage, when the sub hits hard i drop from 14.5 to 11.7volts at some points, what else do i need? More batteries or is it the alternator? The alt was bought of ebay from BnR parts. Just wondering if i should send the alt back and look for a new alt. And if i did send it back what amp alternator should i be looking for? I plan to get a crescendo 3500 within the next few months.

I will be soon upgrading some components in my system. I have a new SAZ-1500d v.2 that will be paired up with an Xcon 12. I will also be getting a DC Power 180 amp alternator and will do the Big 3 also. I just have some questions. I haven't ever worked on a system dealing with this much power, and just want to make sure I have everything that I need. My neighbor recently got a 2003 acura tl type s and want's a system. so far he's picked up kenwood dnx 9140 morel tempo 6 mb quart dsc 2150 ( does 150x2@4 ohm) kinetik hc800 for upfront 2 rolls of rammat bxt for doors, trunk lid, floor, and rear deck. He picked up a sundown 3000d locally but it didn't fit on the seat back so he sold it. Considering 2 amps and possibly a battery in the back we'll have about 4-4.5 cubes net to work with. Hey, I have a 2002 mini cooper S and i want some bass. It has stock electrical right now, and the only thing I want to have to do is upgrade the big 3. It has a 105 amp alt I think and a stock battery so I'd like to keep the amp around 500-600 rms. My goal is as much bass as I can get with the space and power that I have. The dimensions for the "trunk" are 13x13x I think 32ish. I listen to rap and some dubstep, so I want a ported enclosure and I don't care if I have 1 or 2 subs as long as it's loud. So far I have my two BL 15s fully loaded (newer versions), JL 0/1 awg, and will be powered by a Crescendo BC3500d. I plan on buying a mechman 240 alt, xs power 3400 for under the hood and 3100 for out back. I'll probably have car tunes build my since they did a great job last time. I'm aware I should be running dual 0/1 for the batteries so I will but what else am I missing or should also do? Currently have 12 awg for the subs, should I go bigger? Hello, I have a 2014 Accord EX-L sedan that comes stock with nav and touch screen and the stock audio system is JUNK! It comes with four 6.5 inch speakers that sound super flat and a 8inch sub that isn’t enough for me. I plan on replacing all speakers but I want to know if I can upgrade my system without changing my stock head unit. If it helps at all I have the 4 channel alpine MRV-F300 amp for speakers and the Sundown SAZ-1500d for my subs. If I can’t upgrade without changing my headunit what would be my best option for better sound?
