i was wondering how many of you guys use ipods over cd's and cd changers in your cars? do you get the same quality out of the ipods that you would from cd's? this may sound stupid and i know it doesnt make sense so please correct me here, but im under the impression that music will play louder and better from cd's over using a ipod...again i know it sounds stupid..but id like to hear some opinions from the ipod users here

I just bought a pioneer avh-3200bt, pioneer gm-d9500f, and pioneer ts-d1720c speakers which came with 2 subs, 2 tweeters, and 2 crossovers. Where is the best place to buy an amp kit for it and how do you hook up the speaker amp wires when you have a mono amp hooked up to a subwoofer? I know how to hook up the subwoofer and amp without any problems, but I've never hooked up component speakers before and am a little confused on how to hook up the speaker amp to the back of the HU and to the battery if I already have a subwoofer amp connected to both?

Iam running 4 sundown 15" dual 2ohms on a sundown 2500 at 3/4 my amp goes into protect not sure what I am doing wrong. I have a 300 amp alt 3 2100 kinteck batteries sundown 100x4 rainbow higs & mids . I i have checked my wiring think thes woffers would be 1 ohm what am i missing voltage at amp 13.4 at time of shut down. I just replaced a sundown 1500 on to 18,s what am I doing wrong, thanks.

I installed 90% of my system with the two batts in the back and i have a few questions. 1. my subs are dual 1 ohm can i wire each to .5 ohm from each terminal on the enclosure to have a end result of 1 ohm at the amp? 2. when grounding the two batts in the back and i ground them to and metal part or the car. (i have to ground them to each side of the trunk) 3. can i ground both batts on the same plane? 4. i put the two main fuses in just to see of the amp will turn on...no luck. does everything has to be grounded and connected before the amp turn on? 5. i attached the remote wire to the blue wire with the white line that's coming from the harness..is that good enough? 6.…

I was going to get a DCON 12, ported around 30-32hz. I plan to run it off the bridged rear channels of a 4 channel amp. Was going to get the Crescendo 1000C4, but it doesnt have the option to use the HPF as a subsonic filter. Will it really be needed? I like to listen to Bass Mekanik and other artificial bass heavy stuff like that.

SIIIIIIIKE lol. I made this in my InDesign class (one of my throwaway classes to fill my schedule up)and I think it actually turned out decent. DON'T HATE on the Meade picture, I needed a face-offy picture and that one was perfect. Just thought I'd throw this up here since it has SSA references on it. Alright well i finally got some cash and am looking to upgrade. Right now i'm looking at 2 Sundown SA-15's but i'm at a loss for what amp to run. I will set my gains right and I've heard these things are really beastly so I was thinking something in the 3k range? If anyone has some amp options or maybe even different subs. I have $450 for subs and around $350 for an amp. I realize the SA-15s are a bit more than $450 but I don't mind an extra $20. I am in a minor dispute here. I was looking to do a 150 trunk set up and I was talking about what I was looking to buy to a few friends of mine. One friend pipes up and says that "I can do 150 ease with 2 12s on 1k sealed in a 2 cube box".......BULLSHIT!!! SO....I am asking you guys who have done it before to please post if you have done it and how so?? i.e. ( what subs, amps, box size, electrical ect) So I can get a better idea of what kinda cash in going to be spending AND to prove him wrong.

Hey Guys, Just thought I would post up my future re-build for the Mazda.. The subs will be Sundown Sa 12's.. I have decided that I'm done with the whole wall thing.. Let me know what you think.. I am wiring up a 2011 mazda 3 wiring harness, and I have a wire harness that came with my Pioneer 3200bt and then I have the wire harness that is for my mazda 3, all of the colors matchup, except I am confused by a few things. 1. I have a ground with a metal "C" looking end on the 3200bt wire harness then on my mazda 3 wire harness I have a black wire on it as well that is ground too, what do I need to do with both grounds? I will be using a 12V relay if this helps at all, but still not sure how to hook both grounds up 2. On the 3200bt wire harness I have a wire that says "Reverse Gear Signal Input" but I don't have a purple wire on the mazda harness that goes to it, is t…

i know there are those terminals you can buy from parts express that are pretty nice, but after shipping its like 20 bucks to my area. couldn't i just get some bolts at a general hardware store? i know this question has been asked, but every post i see there is not much about if its ok to do and what material bolts should i look into. all i need are bolts for my wiring and my box should be done!! lemme know what you guys think! thanks!

My Icon 12" stopped working the other day. I don't think it's blown and the amp still powers on too. Anyways, I bought back my old setup which is the Fi BTL 15 and Cadence ZRS-9. So loud. I need to take down my headliner to sound deaden it. Too many vibrations coming through the roof. Wonder if anyone that's coming down for scrapin' the coast this year would want to help, lol.

I know PPI had been slipping, but how does the new stuff stack up after the purchase by Epsilon and a total overhaul of all their lines?at least that's what I understand. I'm looking at the art series 6.5 comps(2sets) and the phantom series p900.5 amp with a dcon 10 out back sealed @ 1ft^3. I'm not looking to shatter any records or compete, just lookin for clean and fairly loud for yer average daily driver.

Should I point the subs forward and ports up or subs up and ports back?

So today I wire my 0 gauge power to my distro block to wire my amp my amp shows power, the remote does not show anything and for a kick i have no power to my sub. I've tried several subs now and nothing happens. I've tried every possible wiring scheme and still absolutely nothing. i am so pissed at AQ unless there is some secret setting in my pioneer I forgot to change that will unleash the power I think I got a bad amp. Is there anything that I may be forgetting or any tips anyone could give to keep me from blowing up on AQ? ;( it's an aq1200d that i'm dealing with and its wired to a RE SX12

I have a sundown 3000d, 4 skar 12s , 2 deka intimidators, redtop under hood, stinger capacitor good for 10,000 watts , my alternator is one i found on ebay im sure it does more amps than the stock one but probaly not much , i would like to say getting a new alternator is out of the question reasons are i have a 2002 intrepid 2.7L and noone really makes a alternator for this car they want me to use brackets in stuff i dont really trust that and plus the alternator isnt in a place i could check the bolts all the time. right now the car runs at idle 14.1 volts and i check the capacitor voltage by the amps it goes to most…

I'll be powering an sa-15 w/SAX 1200d, and some ID xs-65 w/SAX 100.4 Plan on getting the Kolossus Fleks 0 Gauge Power Amp Kit, some 40ft of 16 guage KarmaSS, 2 Krystal Kable rca's, and a KONfused distributor for about $160, all from knu clearly. I figure 16guage should be good enough for speaker wire What fuse type and amperage is appropriate/recommended to be in the first foot of the battery for my power line? What size fuses should I get in the distro block for each line? I plan on putting both the amps, crossovers and distribution block in the tire well to be covered with a sheet of mdf for a false floor (maybe a plexiglass view window for looks) will it get too warm u…

ok i have a few questions the system is coming along well, but im looking at door speakers. i just got my girl a head unit and zeus door speakers had good reveiws on sonics( i got her some cheap stuff cuz she will be happy with anything i am alot more picky).the watts on the zeus speakers are 500w for the pair? really? there like 60 bucks..i got those for her to see how they sound cuz crescendo audio will not return my calls or e mail.....um did they go under and not tell me? but do the watts rally matter that much i was going to put mine to an amp. also can you lower the ohms like on a sub?....TO SUM UP do the watts matter and ca you lower the ohm is my question.

Hey, I'm getting back into the swing of building again after a long period of no fabrication, and I'm trying to find a dual or triple bracket system for a 98 f-150 truck. I suppose I should try a metal shop or something first? Another question I have is when you got to plug in the control module or power wires do you just splice them all? I just bought a 2011 Mazda 3 sedan and already bought a Pioneer avh-3200bt along with everything that it needs to get hooked up (I hope), haha guess i'll find out when I hook it up. Now I am looking for speakers. My last system had two 6.5" Polk Audio DB651s, and two Infiniti reference 9623i 6x9's which were just powered by the HU and they sounded good to me, but now I want to get speakers that will get very loud and stay crisp. I already have a 12" RD Alpha V.2 sub which will be powered @ 1500rms so bass isn't a concern with the speakers.
