I'm driving along and hammering down on the system and my car is jerking to the beat (cmon, minds out of the gutter now). It's like I'm doing the so called "gas brake dip". It's pretty fucked up and I'm not enjoying it at all. Anyway, I drive a 09 yaris sedan and I recently put a 320 amp DC Power alt in. I didn't have this problem w/ the stock alt, but then again, I wasn't nearly as loud. What I'm wondering is what is going on and what could I possibly break by doing this on a regular basis? Should I downgrade my amp? 15" SMD on a Stetsom 7k2e Thanks

I'm all for measuring. The ear isn't quite cutting. There are many alternatives, believe me, I've used, tried and experimented with. Some of them are free, with save limitations. All of them are complicated with all sorts of calibration requirements and so-forth. Not to mention the mics and external sound cards add up quickly. I'd like something simple and fast. I dig the term-lab but the cost to play is serious. I came across this alternative . It looks promising. I did a quick search here and saw it's been mentioned a couple of times here and there with no real follow up. I'd like to hear the community's thoughts on something like this. If some one has one, please sha…

I was at my local shop today. Now, this shop is pretty popular around town. It's a small shop but a lot of 1st and 2nd place bass race and spl comp guys come out of this shop and compete at Carl Casper. There show room is flooded with trophies right now so you would think that they have a LOT of info in the audio world. While i am researching for the best subs that would meet my application, i was just curious as to what they would suggest me. They sell off the top of my head - Alpine, Soundstream, Powerbass, JBL and a couple others but nothin bigger than them that i remember. Anyways, i asked the guy if he could recommend a 10" sub for a ported box that would do well …

I have the oppurtunity to use stainless steel bolts for grounds on a project i am working on. i have read that stainless is not generally a good conductor of electricity. I want to run stainless because on this truck the bolts will see some weather. So i figure i would use stainless to help combat the rust and corrosion regular steel bolts and nuts see. So what do the Gods and Gurus think? Stainless for grounds like for air compressors and amplifiers? Large relocated battery grounds to frame and cab with stainless bolts or should i just go and buy regular bolts and deal with rust and crap later?

Now i don't condone riding through your nieghboorhood and constantly pound your subs just because your can and feel like being a meanie. I'm sure alot of you have tickets for loud music, but i was wondering. Have any of you tried to fight them, or just paid them? I'm thinking if the cop comes up to you and starts talking about the music. Aslong as you don't open up your trunk and just agree with him WITHOUT admitting to the crime, and lead the cop to believe you will just pay the ticket. Technically if you plan on defeneding that ticket you could tell the judge. I don't know why he gave me this ticket, but i'd never argue with a cop. -I was not playing really loud music …

http://www.bitpusher.in/ sealed enclosure page input dimensions, driver displacement, double baffle option, end up with net volume. Pretty basic. port area page input driver's partial t/s specs, and calculate port area based on vent mach. ported enclosure page input dimensions, driver displacement, double baffle option, port area / number or aeroports, end up with net volume and proper port length (accounts for port displacement). I started this in the morning, and just finished. From all the testing I've done I haven't run into any issues, but feel free to try it yourself, and post back. Hope this alleviates some headache in designing your boxes.

Hey Guys, Just thought I would post up my future re-build for the Mazda.. The subs will be Sundown Sa 12's.. I have decided that I'm done with the whole wall thing.. Let me know what you think.. And if anyone wonders how i intend to mount the subs, this is the idea i have come up with.. An access panel..I will be using weather stripping under the panel to make it air tight..

Hey guys! First off let me start by saying that I love this site and it is the best car audio site there is in my opinion. But there are a few things that I noticed with some of the members on here....Some of you guys are very rude. I'm not going to say any names but some times you guys come off as rude. There are some guys on here that are new on the forum and car audio and they might ask a question to some might think is very simple, but to them it's something new that they are trying to learn and coming on here to gain some knowledge from you guys who I feel are very knowledgeable. I hope I did not offend anyone but it's just something that I notice that I thought I mi…

I know everyone has their plethora of rap songs with heavy bass, but does anyone know of any good songs with heavy bass in another genre? A few I know are Decaf- White Clouds, as well as the Phil Collins - In the Air Tonight bass remix. Just wondering if anybody has some songs they knew of with some very unexpected bass. It's fun to scare the shit out of people with a bass line they didn't know was coming!

Hey, I have 2 kicker cvx 12's in a custom ported box that I just recently switched to fire into the cabin rather than towards the back of the trunk. In doing so, it boosted what sounds like the middle frequencies, but it killed off the super low frequencies and the higher frequencies. The reason I switched the box orientation is to reclaim some trunk space, which it did do. Now I am wondering if there is anything I can do to get those frequencies back, and make the bass not sound as "hollow" on certain notes. The trunk is not sealed off, although the box doesn't leave much space between itself and the opening into the trunk. Any help is appreciated!

When ever i cruise around with my brother. He somtimes likes to turn up the volume to the point where the bass isnt clear at all but has a muffled sound and isnt as loud as it was at a lower volume. Also the speakers distort at such high volume. I hate to admit it to him but he thinks when the bass hits at such high volume the bass that is traveling towards you is being messed up My belief is when you turn it up high enough, the air flow in the port cause too much air flow and can cause port noise. You can accualy hear the air moving back and forth in the port. My brother's box is about tuned to 46 hz and is about 2-3 c ft. a apline type r with 1200 watts rms

Ok so looking for both front door and rear door speakers to match up with a Nendo C1100.4. I'm looking at the CDT audio HD-63 Braxial set (180 RMS) and the HD-61A set (170 RMS). both sets are 6.5" woofers and come with both crossovers and tweeters. Thought of using the tweeters off the rear set (HD-61A)in the front for a total of 4 tweets in the front. Any recommendations? thoughts? Ideas? Is CDT audio a good brand? Is the amp too much for those speakers? Any other companies I should consider to match up with the C1100.4? Also I really want to keep things as factory LOOKING as possible at this time. Minor modding is cool but not really wanting to do glass and the…

How many times have you rode down the street going to the store or to a friend's house or something, and you are at a stop light and someone pulls up with the system bumping and they think that they are the Shyt. what do you do when this happens to you? I personally. turn my system up for about 10secs turn it back down and hear nothing but sounds of the street. embarrassed, the other person puts their's on mute in shame. I thinks it funny a little. Open to all suggestions, as I'm pulling my hair out trying to combat this, and I'm not sure where to attack first, as aiming is only helping partly For reference, i drive a 98 mountaineer (ford Explorer) I can't get vocals to come from above the dash withtweets at the A pillar and 6.5's in the factory locations. I REALLY dont want my tweeters in my doors. It looks awful on my doors. The best luck i had was with a pair of 4" noname coaxials up on the dash aimed at the dome light, from 350hz up, midbass 50-350 and the 18 from fifty down. I have time alignment currently, and am lining up to replace my HU as well as add in a MiniDSP, but for no…
