Im trying to upgrade my current system myself. I have a 2002 Toyota Camry with stock speakers(3.5's on the dash, 6x9's on the front doors and rear deck). I have a Crescendo s800.4 which I will be running 2 Crescendo FT1's tweeters(replacing the 3.5's), and 6.5 PWX's(replacing the ones on the front doors). How would i wire them to the amp so i can have them for the front channel as i will have my stock rears running off my deck until i upgrade those down the road. The FT1's are 8ohms and the 6.5's are 4 ohms. My subs will be 2 FI BL's running off the BD2000 from Crescendo.

Can someone explane what these charts mean? i don"t understand what these mean but the first cart being the highest at 50hz makes me think that i won't be able to hit lows well. i listen to slowed music 90% of the time i just want loud and low. i don"t really care about anything above 50hz or so. box is a 4th order 2 cubes sealed 6 ported tuned to 60hz 90sq in. of port. if i am right about not being able to hit low how can i change that? lower tuning, make chambers smaller? (8 cubes is the most space i have so can"t make chamber bigger without making other smaller)

My girlfriend has a 2010 Elantra and wants a basic system that'll sound good and have decent output. She really likes the look of DC subs and I already know DC makes good quality stuff. I'd like to get her a single Level 3 12 in a nice box made my Pound that Sound or Fisher Customs. The amp that caught y eye to power the Level 3 12 is a Kicker ZX750.1. Is that a good quality amp?

Hi folks, after a long f'd up process trying to figure out what was wrong with my tarantula amp. I decided to trade a dude for his autotek mean machine 3000.1 (before maxxonics bought them). Anyhow, that amp is only 2 ohm stable bridged. Therefore, I can only run 1 of my Ti Elite 12's (dual 4ohm). It simply is not enough output. So I thought about it and decided that The happiest I was, was when I had an 18 Cerwin Vega circa 1998. After selling my last Elite, I will have roughly $400 for an 18. I decided to make my car a 2 door and take the rear seats out and put the box back there. I don't want to wall it off.....yet. So I should have plenty of room for whatever Driver I…

A friend of mine had bought the new mag paired with the Sundown SAE1000. Now this is the first sub that he owns and this is the first time I seen a mag. After searching in vain for box recommendations, I seem to have the conclusions that the mag is for sealed enclosure based on the recommended box volume on their site. Does anyone knows would it shine in ported as well? If yes what would it be the ideal volume and tuning? Also he would like more output in his sub so I might design a ported box for him.

I an almost ready to purchase my pair of 18 in zcons. FTW! I'm still debating on what amp(s) to use for them. Any thoughts? Opinions? Statements? Etc? I'm thinkin SAZ 4500 if I can find one used. Maybe even Crescendo 's line but I haven't seen what they have out recently. I don't do competitions, this setup is just for show and enjoyment. But I want some bang in my car. Please, feel free to comment on anything, I'm open to what yall gotta say. I'm in the thinking process right now. Thank you. -Marcus G.

(i live in teh capital of Alaska, but the only way in and out of town is by plane or boat either way it's 2/6 hours outta here.) so for someone just starting in car audio like me and all of my friends. we have no idea what 140+ or i'm sure 130+ db sounds like.. how can you explain it to some noobs so we can get a guess as to what were hitting with our subs? 2) how do i know about what htz my music is hitting, i mainly listen to hip-hop/rnb/rap. a very even mix of all. and i was just readin in another thread that pretty much rap and really heavy bass songs are higher bass hits.. well how high? an…

    I will be starting another small build in my 530i soon and i'm trying to make good informed descisions on sub amps. I've been browsing different forums and reading different articles discussing topics like amplifier distortion and clipping. Since i first got into car audio i have not ran anything but cheap budget systems. The amps i've used in the past 7 or 8 years on my subs have been : (excuse all of the weak sauce) 1. An old Concept cc-504a - ( i think 100 x 4 @ 4 ohms) 2. California Profile AP1000M ( 500 x 1 @ 2 ohms ) 3. Kenwood 9103d ( 900 x 1 @ 2 ohms ) 4. SPL DK2-2400 ( 540 x 2 @ 2ohms ) 5. Kicker ZX 400.1 ( 400 x 1 @ 2 ohms) 6. Audiopipe AP 3000 ( 3000 x 1 @ 2 oh…

Hey, I'm looking for a bit of advice. I bought some 6.5" Focal component speakers for my 99 Civic LX which has 6.5" stock speakers. The problem is that the Focals appear to be a hair larger than they specified... The diameter of the speaker is a good 1-2mm wider than claimed, which means I'm forced to do some modification. I would probably just huck them on eBay, except a) I really like their sound, and b) I already drilled / installed the tweeters on my door panel. So I'm left with a tricky situation. I'm debating whether or not I should be cutting the metal ring around the speaker, or the plastic on my door. They both have pros and cons and while I'm slightly handy, I'm…

I have two kicker cvx 12" 2006 model subs in a prefab ported box that i believe is 1.25 cubes per chamber (not sure if that is net or total) and i was just wondering what differences i will see, and how significant they are, if i switch to a either 4.5 or 5.5 cubes net custom box with a single port tuned to 35 hz.

"To low of amp wattage will cook the sub" is what ive heard a few times and always thought that it was false. I have normally under powered my subs and never had a problem, not even on installs for other people and never a problem at all. Just want to hear what other people have to say?

Is the remote knob a separate volume for the amplifier or separate EQ for the amplifier? Do all these remote knobs do the same same thing? Hifonics's"Bass Boost" RF's "Remote Punch EQ" Kicker's "Remote Bass Level" If I already have my EQ tuned to the music that listen to, do I need a knob ?

Hey... I might have found an 8W7 that could fit in my budget...however, I've got a question. Do JL's recommended enclosures work well at home? I've heard they're optimized for in-vehicle cabin gain. If so, does anyone have recommendations for enclosures (sealed or bass reflex) for this little beast? Thanks in advance.

  21. well, today i just bought 2 15" PBX's. i have to say, very nice subs. with only about an hour or 2 of play time on them, the SPL is incredible and the sound is very tight. unfortunately, i have to have these beasts in a sealed box, since i can't fit ported unless i sacrifice ALL trunk room. each one is running off its own Infinity REF1210A (1300 watts @ 2 ohms). i just can't wait til these beasts are finally broken in, and i can turn the gain up a little more, then i'll be pounding. but, so far i'm VERY happy! for pics and such... So, last night I was cleaning up my amp and re-wiring some stuff and fried my amp. Done for. Hifonics Bxi 1206d. Today I finally get my FI btl 12 fully loaded ! YES. I am putting it in it's custom box and i slipped while drilling it in and drill right though the rubber surrounding dust cap. I am very very very very very pissed. Does anyone have any solutions? i believe you can replace just the dustcap right? Also if anyone wants to sell a saz 1500/3000 let me know. Thanks/.
