Sub is coming in today, really stoked. Bought a box, had it made to the smaller Icon 15" dimensions provided by SSA, but it was too big. Now according to the measurements I made, I thought the box was fitting.... wrong. It was a little off, and that made a big difference. Now I'm getting another box made for the IA Lethal Injection 15" and would like to know of anybody who has had experience with the Charger. If anyone has had a box in their Charger, how big was it? Any kind of help would be sick, I would make a mock box but I'm short on time and have no cardboard at the moment.

It was between posting on here or in home audio but i just decided to post here.... my older brother has a Sony WM500 subwoofer that he bought a couple years back and does not use it so I decided to start a fun, little, "screw around" project. I have already taken the powered amp off the original enclosure and disconnected all the wires. Also I have taken out the actual subwoofer and taken out the power on button from the sub and I am planning on building a box for this sub. ok so i have been using nero forever now and im just really getting tired of how slow and long it takes to burn a music video dvd. my dvd player can only play mpeg too. so my questioin is what is a good way to burn music video dvds. thanks.

I have a budget of 530 us dollars for rear fills + front components. Type of Music i listen to :- Psychedelic trance, Rap, RnB, Hip-Hop, Rock, Jazz, Club and Indian. I am not looking for analytical sound but toe-tapping without loosing on details,instrument separation, bass extension etc. Thanks

Two weeks ago i installed 2 15"inch kicker l7's,which are runnig off a (kole audio)2400 watt amp.The box for the subs is a very small sealed box,actually its a prefab box called groundshaker lol..It gets pretty loud.Some where aroun next week im going to have a box built by a member on here by the name of (soundvibration) ..My question is these subs can handle 1000 rms and i was wondering if it would get alot louder with the RF1500 or saz1500 not sure which one but would the amp make a huge diffrence or just keep the one i have?The reason i ask is ca use alot of times people say 500 watts isnt any different to the ear,or does that not apply to me cause its a cheap amp i h…

Well first sorry for making a somewhat new thread, I thought it wasnt reasonable to keep my questions going on the Fi Technical zone. Maybe I can get more help here I have a problem which Im trying to solve. Basically, Im trying to set my gains right, however, I dont have DMM or O-Scope so I have to do it by ear. Pioneer TS-W3002D4 @ 2ohms 1k RMS 12" Sundown 2000D @ 2ohms 1k RMS Rockford Fosgate 4-gauge kit Factory HU using RCA with Line Output Converter. Stock amp, no Big 3 No Bass Boost on Amp. No Bass Boost on Headunit. Everything Flat.

For 1/0AWG or even 4AWG terminals.. Of this style: I'll use a screw and put in in the crease and squeeze in a bench-vise then rotate 90* and squeeze again. Usually have to do it a few times each way to get it secure, but even then I don't feel too confident of it's pull strength. There's gotta be a better/faster way.

Can someone explane what these charts mean? i don"t understand what these mean but the first cart being the highest at 50hz makes me think that i won't be able to hit lows well. i listen to slowed music 90% of the time i just want loud and low. i don"t really care about anything above 50hz or so. box is a 4th order 2 cubes sealed 6 ported tuned to 60hz 90sq in. of port. if i am right about not being able to hit low how can i change that? lower tuning, make chambers smaller? (8 cubes is the most space i have so can"t make chamber bigger without making other smaller)

when i think about the next setup i want, I just dont know what i want because i listen to a lot of double bass and rap. Is there a type of enclosure that has acoustically accurate response appropriate for rock but also has the ability to get low? low meaning like 30 hertz ish. Haven't heard many ported setups other than my own on rock, and they always sound like shit compared to a sealed box. But I don't actually know if its because of my box, or because its an spl sub, etc. anyone have any advice? EDIT: I'm talking about subs just incase anybody didnt realize this

I am seriously considering purchasing the Nissan Leaf when it comes out in Oct, its an all electric vehicle. (Link to the Leaf http://www.nissanusa.com/leaf-electric-car/battery.jsp#/details) The site doesn't list any specs on the car and I can't find any details in other articles on the internets. Does anyone know any specs on this car? Not the how far it goes, how long it takes to cahrge but, will it be 12-14 volt? Will running a system in this thing just kill the charge? (Fi Q 12" rms @ 1000w, JL 1000/1 v.2, Focal K3P UV rms @ 200w, Sundown 125.2) Really if anyone knows much about running systems in electric cars at all. Thanks!

i thought i was done deciding on my new setup but something else crossed my mind, and now I need a little help choosing. I'm gonna be running the SSA Dcons which are 300 rms a piece. My amp is the Elemental Designs Nine.1(1200 rms). Instead of building the system around the car I've decided to get a car around my system, though the car will probably be around a 95-97 Cutlass Supreme or Monte Carlo. First my previous system was; (2) 12 inch Powerbase Extreme Subwoofers (About 800 Watts RMS Each) (1) Elemental Designs NINe.1 amp (1200 RMS at 14v) I sold my turbo g35 and now have a 2006 Dodge Charger (Ya it has a hemi ) I listen to Rap, Hip Hop, and R&B. I always love deep bass, my previous subs went deep on a couple songs. Higher bass tones are always great too. I was wondering what you guys think I would be happier with or what would be louder; 1 15 inch fully loaded Fi BTL or 2 12 inch Fi SSD's As for an amp what do you guys suggest. hi i have had the pg xenon 600.1 on my previous sub setup which was ran at one ohm but i have recent sold that sub and bought a dc sound lab lvl 4 xl 15 which is dual 1.4 ohms i tried wiring it in series to a 2.8 ohm load and it didnt seem like the amp was putting out hardly any power so i was wondering if i wired everything in parallel to get a .7 ohm load would that be safe for the amp. i plan on checking everything again in the morning to see if i can get it to sound right at 2.8 ohms . but if not do u think the amp will be safe at .7 its just for daily driving no competitions or anything

I'm looking for some suggestions on a new car, has to be american owned company, hatchback would be best, maybe a suv. Nothing too big though nothing bigger than a Ford Explorer. Also two door would be great. I could use some suggestions. thank you Julian

Alright so im getting ready to start my first project on my car and i had a few questions before i ordered everything. 1. on the Big 3 is it okay to use my alternator case as an engine ground for the chassis to engine ground run? 2 Im planning on getting an amp for my front stage and an amp for the subs. Im confused on how i would run my 1/0g wire from the battery to both of those amps. do i need one or two runs from the battery?

Tried ordering an enclosure off the Fisher Custom site, then bad news comes. Something a long the lines of not being able to ship to my location and then I go to Audible Customs and they also can not ship to Louisiana at the moment. This is a big halt, as things were going so smooth.... while acquiring all the new equipment. I really don't have trust nor faith in the local shops around here, probably just as well off purchasing a prefrab from them but, I want to do things right. So if anyone knows of some legit people who could build me a bow and ship to Louisiana... that would be appreciative.

Ok I was at the shop today and decided to do my FIRST hands on experience in box building. I took the old face of my box and decided to switch it out to a dual btl box. Of course I messed up a little bit. What I messed up on was the shops saw went out today on me and I decided to use a jigsaw to cut the bottom of the face (major "f" up) . So my face was a little uneven. So I plan on using bondo and resin to fix it. With the face put on the box spray painted black it is hardly noticeable, but tomorrow will test my first challenge. I will also be bracing the mess out of the box. What port should I use? I am thinking 2 or 3 aero (pvc) ports, but what size aero (pvc) ports a…

I was gonna post this in the off topic section, but it's slightly audio related, and i just wanted to ask because it seems ridiculous. The RF 40001bd amp is supposed to be 4k rms at 1ohm, pretty sexy, whatever. If i recall it has ONE set of 1/0ga power and ground terminals. With a fuse rating of 500amps, and knowing that 1/0ga wire has a capacity of ~300amps doesn't that mean they failed? Off the top of my head, the Sundown 4500D has dual power and ground, and for what seems like a good reason. The only solution to this problem i see is to have your amp ridiculously close to your rear battery bank. Just me rambling on, thanks for comments.

I recently read Galamonkeys avalanche build and the specs of the box were something like 4cuft sealed chamber for two 18" btls, with a high tuned ported chamber. He commented saying the lows were quite good. now, separetly a 4cuft sealed box for two 18" btls would sound bad, and a high tuned box would not hit any lows. How does that add together and work well? Off the top of my head, it seems like a large sealed chamber with a low tuned ported chamber would be the smart choice. I've never been able to experiment with bandpass boxes, so cut me a little slack.

Has anybody heard the audioque hdc3 woofers?I got a audioque 2200 amp from a friend and i wanted to know if 2 12'inch hcd3 woofers could get loud off of it?Do they reccomend sealed or ported?

ok so i got the fosgate hx2 15 instead of a sundown z15 because the guy lowered the price to $150 it was BNIB. so i built a box tuned at 30 hz put it in my backseat playing with the placement. its only ran on a bazooka 500w mono P.O.S on a busted ass pioneer deh-p3500.in a 76 caprice btw, well anyway at the first of march im gettin some money and im gonna get either hifonics bxi or a audiopipe 1500....ok well im looking into a new head unit im looking for something around $150-$200 with 4-5v pre outs any recomendations?and maybe a pair of 10's or 12's so the hx2 isnt lonely.......or sundown 8's just looking for ideas and you guys have been alot of help so far pics up tom…

Ive been buying alot of stuff lately for my upcoming build. Well certain things are popping out at me that Im going to need to purchase... First thing is an equalizer. what is a good EQ at a affordable price? Would love zapco, but its not in my budget right now. Also I had a PPI EQ a while back and it only had 2 inputs (1 main and 1 aux) which were switchable. my deck has 3 sets of RCA's in the back (Front, rear, sub) .. how is this done? Do i only use 1 set going into the EQ and EQ out to my sub and high's amp's? Which set of RCA's off the back of the deck do I use? Front, rear or Sub?
