is 1 ohm louder then anything else? i was told this by a kid at school. if you need any other info let me know, im at a loss as to what else to say. haha. newb i know...

Ok, so I splurged a little when I bought my new car. I needed something small, since its a BMW 3 series. I got 2 12" JL W7's off a friend for 500. I need to make a box for these that will fit my trunk in the Bmw. I finally have most of my equipment in and now that I'm actually pushing some power this is a question that I can't seem to find a straight answer by searching the net. Is it safe to turn the volume up past the gain limits you've set when listening to music that's recorded at lower volumes? I find that when listening to a lot of music, especially older music, the volume seems to be half of what is recorded these days. Is this part of the "head room" that I've heard everyone speak of? Can someone recommend a decent program that tells me what Hz bass is contained in song? Preferably freeware I've looked at a few through google searches but they either don't tell me the Hz accurately, say the wrong Hz or dont make sense eg. I'm looking for some seleniums to put in my truck. I want two selenium horns and maybe selenium midbass drivers and supertweeters to put in my doors. I've looked at parts express but there doesn't seem to be a big variety If anyone knows a good website or dealer? And is It worth to look at horns under $100?

Hello all, new here. Wanting to get some opinions on my upcoming box build. Never did an extended cab before. Ok so the sub is a 12" Fi BL on a rockford t1500 bdcp. Now the box I have figured is 3.9 cuft gross and 2.5 after all displacement(I plan on double baffling). Port will be a t-line style. My question is Port up? Or Port Forward? Box dimensions are 39" x 15" x 15" so port will be the same either way at 3" x 13.5". Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hey everyone! Im going to be buying my first subwoofer very soon! Right now im looking into an AA havoc 15" with an AudioQue 1200D in a 4.0cf enclosure tuned to 32hz. But more talk about the subwoofer. This subwoofer will cost about $500..... This is toooooo much money. And then i saw the fi q 15"! its about $390 shipped. Is it worth spending another $110 to get the Havoc? Im looking for SPQL (dont know if that exist sound pressure quality level) Thanks for the help!

This is the problem... I ordered about 6 weeks ago 2 Kinetik Audio HC1800 batteries on Ebay at IndoAudio (yes, my own stupid mistake). And since then I didn't receive any batteries. Now I am looking to get my cash back from Paypal / Ebay. Anyways, I still need 2 good brand batteries, which can feed my amplifiers. Amplifiers in use (or soon to be used): - 2x (strapped) SAZ-1500D - 1x SAX-100.4 (bridged) What brands (and preferably what types) can you recommend. What are some general rules for box bracing i dont think i braced mine enough I have a 7.6 cube box with a fi btl and im just not sure

I have 10-8 inch and 6-10 inch PRV audio speakers. I have Taramps HD8000 2ohm running all 16 speakers. My question is will I get better performance from all 16 speakers if I separate the 8's and 10's to different amps? It does get reasonable but in my opinion I have heard smaller systems get louder with less power.

Originally I was going to buy a Sundown or Cresendo amp but money is tight so I've been looking into the Hifonics BE 2500.1. I know they have a bad name, but I currently own an older series Hifonics BXi 2008d and honestly love the amp. Don't get me wrong I've had it repaired about 4 times but all due to inefficient power supply. The new series is CEA compliant and Steve Meade proved they do put out the power advertised. So I got this 12 inch square sub for free and I wanted to use it temporarily in my tribute till I get a box built for my other 12 .. But the square one has no info on it except the dust cap witch seems to me is just an X .. If anyone knows about this sub or brand please let me know thanks

I just downloaded WinISD and am trying to figure out what length i need for my port, but my driver is not listed, and i don't know the t/s parameters Driver is a bose 201 6.5" its fairly old, early or mid 90's. External dimensions are 6"x9.5"x12" using 1/2" mdf. port will be 2" pvc pipe, and the port will be external.

a few days ago it was about -28F outside and i had my radio maxed out from when i arrived at work. when i left i started my truck and forgetting i had the volume up i didnt turn it down before it started to play. i got about 1/4 of a note out of my sub and it stopped playing, tonight i pulled my sub out of its box to find one of the tinsel leads broken in half. i soldered it back together and the sub works now but my amp does not. my KX2500.1 powers on but there is no AC voltage out of its terminals. i assume the sub caused some degree of arcing on the amp. how common is it for subs to blow apart due to cold weather? now obviously my case is max power at very cold temps…

i hooked up 2 PSI 18S and 2 Soundstream tx1.2000d amps. Gains and freq levels were set the same on each paired amp n sub. The first lil while i played it, everything worked fine. then all the sudden i notice one sub were playing lower than the other. wtf right...checked the impedance on the coils and they check out fine. So over the last few weeks ive done everything i can think of from checking connections, swapping subs around, new rca cables, even thought it might be the bass knobs, and still one of the amps is putting out less power.
